I searched online for a solid oak medicine cabinet. There were several sellers who operated stores where they sold such cabinets that they had made. The ones made by Mr. Long captured my attention. There was a purity of design in them, which let the beauty of the wood do the speaking vs. a lot of carving or other embellishments. When I contacted Mr. Long, he was extremely responsive, asking all the right questions about the size of the space I had, my preferences, the color of stain I wanted, the color and style of cabinet hardware I wanted, etc. We exchanged many emails, most accompanied by drawings with design ideas or photos of previous cabinets he'd made for others. The distance between New York City and Tennessee mattered not. When my cabinet arrived, it was packed very professionally and suffered not a scratch in shipping. I tore open the cardboard, eager to see my ideas wrought in oak. And I was astounded by the sheer beauty of the cabinet. You look at it, you see the work of a true master in woodworking. I will never have to buy another medicine cabinet, not in this lifetime. This one will last and last, unlike the particle-board junk you can buy at the home improvement centers. I cannot recommend Mr. Long enough for cabinetry.
