I called McNeil Plumbing to fix a leak. When the young man arrived, late in the day, after they said he would be much earlier than that, he looked at his buddy and said and quot; This won't take a minuteand quot;. But, they had to go get the T valve, taking much more time than i would have imagined to go to Cole's to get the part. Cole's is not far from my house and I've driven to it many times. Anyway, they finally arrived back at my home, and the actual repair took about 5 minutes. The young man, Mike Jones, handed me the bill and actually said to meand quot; I hate to charge you so much because you are a really good looking woman.and quot; Needless to say, I was stunned! i DID NOT KNOW WHAT TO SAY! So, I just raised my eyebrows, kind of embarrassed smile, and wrote out a check. and hoped they would hurry away....which they did, thank goodness. I don't know if this misguided young man, (early twenties), thought it might help the exhorbitant cost go over a little easier or what, but I was thoroughly embarrassed and needless to say, did NOT take it as a compliment in any realm of the imagination. Since then, every chance I get, I let people know what happened to me, how much it cost, etc... I would NEVER call them again because of this one incident. I have no idea if this guy is even working there now, or how long he worked for them then, but he did their business much damage. They may be just fine now, but one bad apple certainly does spoil the whole bunch.

Excellent communication all the way from the first contact with BJ in admin to completion of job. The job itself went smooth and took most of the day to do, which was to be expected. Since ours was 17 years old and we live in Tipton County, the contractor had to bring associated plumbing up to code, which included replacing all metal vent piping, the drain pan and installation of cutoff valves, which the old water heater did not have. Also stabilized the new water heater with a sheet of thick plywood we supplied as the old one was sitting atop a thin sheet of pressboard and rocked from side to side if you stepped wrong. Not good in earthquake country, especially since the old one lacked cutoff valves to it. The installer, Matt was excellent to work with; communicated clearly and was very professional. He even gave me a heads up that our main water cutoff valve, down by the street in a box in the ground, had a bent switch lever and suggested I contact the city to get it corrected. I've worked with at least a dozen contractors in various trades in this area and this was by far one of the best experiences I've had. NOTE: we are retired military and price we paid reflects military discount they gave us.
Description of Work: Removed and replaced 17 year old gas 50 gal. water heater from attic and replaced with new gas 50 gal. heater with a 10 year warranty.

They went up on the price for what they originally told me, so I did not appreciate that at all. They were not very punctual as they did not show up when they said they would. The workers though were friendly and polite.
Description of Work: They ran a natural gas line from the meter box to the heater in our swimming pool.

I think they did a very good job on fixing the problem but in my opinion, I think the price was a little high for the amount of work that was done. He was very nice and polite and did a great job cleaning up the mess afterwards.
Description of Work: The plumber had to fix a leak that was coming from a handle that had broken off in the tub.
