+ -1 moreAt the suggestion of the general manager and owner of American Granite and Marble in Oakland, TN (and our subsequent perusal of their reviews on “Angie’s List”), we chose Wade Plumbing Company to install our new kitchen plumbing after we had had own old kitchen and bar areas removed and replaced with new granite countertops. The work done by the plumber was outstanding, and done without delay, in minimal time and no mess. Moreover, the plumber, who was quite polite and congenial, cleaned his work sites to the point of being absolutely spotless. The stellar reviews this local small business has received are well-earned, and we would recommend their services to anyone.

+ -1 moreThey contacted the real estate agent to get the key code on the key box, and went over and checked it out the next day. It turned out that it was just a running toilet , which they repaired by replacing some valves and seals. They are always reliable and do excellent quality work.
Description of Work: I use Wade Plumbing regularly for all kinds of plumbing services - mostly unstopping drains, fixing toilets, etc. Most recently, I asked them to see why my utility bill was showing high water usage for my parents' house, which had been unoccupied and up for sales for almost 2 years, and on which we finally had a sales contract.

Person who answered said they were and quot;a very small companyand quot;, and they had not been able and quot;to keep upand quot;.. Someone was also ill, etc. They could have had thatreceptionist follow up, just to keep prospective customers informed.

+ -1 moreOne of the visits required that Sheetrock be cut for gas stove connection and another visit required cutting Sheetrock to repair the bathroom leak. The third visit was for the new faucet to be installed. Extremely pleased with all communication as well as the work. A small company so be patient to have the work done. Donna coordinates w/Mark for scheduling and they are worth the wait. The plumber and helper are professional and knowledgable. They explain what is needed and clean up after completion. Wade is our new plumbing company.
Description of Work: Ran a pipeline for a gas stove connection, repaired bathroom leak and put in new faucet after granite countertop was installed.

Unfortunately, we once deviated from that policy -- a few years ago the contractor we hired to do remodeling insisted on using his own subs, and we learned the hard way that if a contractor won't use the people you rely on, he's not the man for the job. Never again will we stray from Mr. Wade's fold!

+ -1 moreWe had Wade Plumbing come out to fix a leadking shower head and dripping faucet. They were able to come out the same day and were very professional. Both items were completely repaired. About three weeks later, we had a commode that started to overflow and we could not stop it. We cut the water off and Wade Plumbing was able to come out quickkly and resolved the issue and we have had any problems since. They are very professional and do excellent work!
Description of Work: We had several issues that needed attention. 1) Running water in a shower 2) dripping faucet 3) a cammode that had overflowed and we could not keep from overflowing. Wade plumbing was able to fix all three issues completely and in a timely manner.

Mr Wade came out here the day after work was performed to make sure all was ok which it was and all has been fine every since they put a new thermostat on tank. + 0 moreThey normally fix it pretty quickly. They are usually very friendly. Last time we needed them it was kind of hard to get them out; it was easy to get hold of them but not to get them out here. I think they were overbooked. I had talked to them about doing something with a sump pump in my basement, but I don't think they are interested in doing it. They have always done okay for general plumbing work.
Description of Work: We had previously used Wade Plumbing for running toilet down stairs and a dripping tub faucet. Very pleased with that visit. As our basement started flooding, it would put out our hot water heater and the 4/15/2009 visit (as well as other hot water heater related visits - 6 in all over a year & a half if I remember correctly) are what I am grading in this report. This would happen when ever we had hard rains for days. The basement used to drain great, but over the years, the terracotta drainage pipes running to the city main cracked and collapsed. So rather than the basement draining, it would fill up faster. If the basement flooded bad (I considered it bad if we had more than 1in. of standing water.) Essentially, the water heater pilot light & ignition system (or whatever the part is that sparks the gas to heat the water) would get soaked and need to be dried out with parts needing to be replaced every couple of visits. The 2nd time this happened, I realized that there were only 2 real solutions. To raise the water heater up on a slab about 5 in. or to put in a submersible pump. I asked Wade Plumbing if they could do either and it seemed like to me that they said yes. It took me a number of soaked water heater incidents and days of an angry wife and cold water showers to realize that the guys at Wade Plumbing were too polite to tell me they didn't want to put in a pump or raise up my water heater. I originally gave them a D for responsiveness, and that may be a fair grade, but honestly, they never NEVER billed me for giving me a temporary fix (which meant months of uninterrupted hot water and near martial bliss) - so I'm changing it to a C. The C for punctuality is because half-a-day windows bug me - but their time window was a four hour window - and they were on time for that. My flooding basement/hot water heater issues weren't exactly standard plumbing fare.

+ -1 moreI called pretty early in the day and Mr. Wade was cordial and worked me in early. I believe it was his son who arrived to perform the work. He was on time and very professional. The equipment he used wasn't as impressive as the other company's, but he took his time, worked hard, and made sure the job was done right.
Description of Work: Our sewer pipe was clogged for the second time in 2 months. This was mostly a result of tree roots growing into the line. We had another service come out to clear it and they used a snake with a blade, but it was stopped back up pretty quickly. These guys did the same thing.

They also explained why it takes forever to get hot water in my kitchen. Their price was very fair and information valuable. We would definitely call them again for a plumbing problem.

In addition, the installation took less time than expected and the final bill was almost $100 less than quoted when it would have been easy to stay with the original quote. This company is professional, ethical and does very high-quality work. We are bring them back to put in a gas line from the attic to the kitchen.
Description of Work: Wade plumbing installed a circulation pump to ensure there is nearly instant hot water at the kitchen sink instead of the 5 minutes it had been taking. This is the second job they have done for us this year.

Other firms I've used have subjected me to various degrees of a "trial and error" approach hoping that something will work as planned.
Description of Work: Came out on a timely basis and replaced a steel connector put into my main water supply to connect copper and plastic piping. He put the proper plastic fitting back in place. Previous plumber used steel with the full realization that it rust through and leak, as it did after 3 years.
