I went in for a transmission flush and 4 hours later, I was told I need to have something in my transmission rebuilt and it would be around $900 and take 3 days to do. I brought the car in the following week and they didn't start on the car until 5days later after I called to check on it. They avoided my calls and rushed me off the phone. they waited until they were almost finished and told me it would be $3200! A week later, they hiked the price to $3700. Their front office is rude and hung the phone up on me. When I got the car back it drove fine until I tried to crank it back up that evening and it would not start. They didn't want to help me to see what the problem was. All he said was "I hope its not a battery issue, I would hate to have my wrecker come out to get the car just for that" I told them I did not want to give them any more money just for them to look at it and charge me more than what was needed. I paid them because I needed my car back. But I will never go to them again.

Description of Work: Mr. & Mrs. Chism agreed to install a rebuilt transmission in my 2009 LT Tahoe for $1,700.00. I called to pick my car up many times over a 3 month span and they kept saying they were almost done. So in late Feb. I Calle sand said I'm coming to get my car regardless of its fixed or not, 2 days later I received a letter saying that all work on my tahoe was finished and it I didn't buy pick it up by March 10th they would put a lien on it. So I go in on March 9th to pick my truck up and they said it wasn't finish. So I started recording the conversation. They informed me that there weren't putting any lien on my tahoe and it would be finished the following Monday. So Monday comes and no calls, nothing. So I give it a while longer and finally go in and tell them I want my car back that instant. Mr. Chism hands me a invoice for $5,200 dollars and told me my Tahoe had been broken into and gutted. I called the cops and they told me there was nothing to could do and that they WOULD NOT write a report for me, all because the owner Mr. Chism said he had a lien on it, so the cops got in their car and left. We are suing Taylor's Transmission & Auto Services. Our court date is on July 7th. Taylor's Transmission has a D- rating with the BBB. My truck has been their since January, not once did anyone from Taylor's Transmission call to tell me they were raising the price from $1,700.00 to $5,200.00 or that my truck had been broken into and gutted, they didn't even make a police report. This is one of the most crooked and shady companies I have ever dealt with.

12/16/15 - We towed Mr. [Member Name Removed]'s 2009 Chevrolet Tahoe from Serra Chevrolet, who had the vehicle for over a month (11/13/15 to 12/15/15). The truck came here for a transmission rebuild. All customers are given an estimate on repairs and are told that it is just an estimate and we won't know total cost until it is broken down to see the damage. [Member Information Removed] was also told that we needed some money put down toward repairs before we start the work. 12/17/15 - [Member Information Removed] was given finance options of which he was approved for $3,000 but the finance company could not get in touch with him to complete the paperwork. We tried to contact the [Member Information Removed] as well with no response back. 2/18/16 - [Member Information Removed]'s mother called to see what the status of the vehicle was and we told her we were waiting on approval and money down from Mr. [Member Name Removed] to start the repairs. She said she would be in on 2/22/16 to pay money down on the repairs. She never called or came in. After having the vehicle for a few months with no communication or the [Member Information Removed] and/or his mother not doing what they [Member Information Removed] they would do we thought they had abandoned the vehicle and we had no choice except to file a Mechanic Lien with the State of Tennessee. A certified letter was sent to Mr. [Member Name Removed] and that he had 10 days to pay for repairs. At this time Mr. [Member Name Removed] put $400 down although he [Member Information Removed] he had all of the money to pay for repairs. He then told us to repair the vehicle. At this point the $400 went [Member Information Removed] the tow from Serra ($75), State filing fee ($250) and diagnosis time ($95) & sales tax which totaled $458.85. 3/7/16 - Upon arriving to work we noticed the front passenger side window was broken out and the radio was [Member Information Removed]. We immediately called MPD to report the break in and had our window guy come out to replace the window since there were [Member Information Removed] coming our way. The police officer that made the called [Member Information Removed] that because the vehicle was outside on our lot that we were not responsible for any theft of vehicle or items left in said vehicle. 4/6/16 - Mr. [Member Name Removed] showed up at our shop, with no money to pay on repairs and started yelling and cursing Derek out. Derek asked him to leave because he was not going to argue with him alone much less in front of our [Member Information Removed] that was in the waiting room. He went outside and called the police. Upon arrival of the MPD officers, they told him there was nothing they could do because it was a civil matter and if he wanted to take further action he would need to get an attorney. He then went outside with the police officers and told them that Derek had put his hands on him. Derek [Member Information Removed] to the MPD officers, as well as our [Member Information Removed] that saw the whole incident, that Derek never put his hands on him he walked Mr. [Member Name Removed] to the door after he had asked him to leave. The MPD officers then left. We have been very patient with Mr. [Member Name Removed] and gave him as well as his mother the benefit of doubt that they would do what they [Member Information Removed] they would do which was never the case. The vehicle has been repaired.
