I have never dealt with anyone as unprofessional, rude, condescending, and nasty as Tom Zarta with Source One.
Description of Work: NEVER, NEVER, NEVER! use Source One in Cordova, Tn. for any home remodeling job. We first met with Tom Zarta of Source One regarding carpeting. He then told us he does hardwood floors as well. The project grew and we contracted with him to build a wooden staircase, put in new hardwood flooring in the upstairs landing and hallway, refinish existing hardwood, carpet a bedroom, install wroght iron, and do touch up painting in area effected by the construction work. The work began in April, 2009 and was not completed until Dec. 2009. The carpeting was extremely late in getting installed and he completly missed carpeting one closet. The new hardwood flooring and wood staircase was very nice; it was done by an outside contractor used by Source One. The refinishing of the existing hardwood floors was a fiesco. Mr. Zarta used his own people; he recommended doing one area at a time due to furniture moving. The first area was nice; it was a satin finish. The second area, which joined the first, was done in a HIGH GLOSS finish. When I finally--after 2 weeks- got him to come to my house to look at it, it told me it was likely because the original floors had been installed at different times; THIS WAS NOT THE CASE. When I got extremely angry, he finally decided to redo both areas at the same time and they came out nice. Then he had the WRONG pattern wroght iron installed; it looked like something that would be put in an old Mexican hosienda. I went directly to the wroght iron installer and found out that that was the pattern Mr. Zarta had given them. Fortunately, I had the picture of the pattern I had ordered. The wroght iron was removed and redone, but this was a lengthy process and my house was in a mess. The guy who works for him did the painting; it did not come close to matching the existing paint and looked like he had used a broom to apply the paint; the roller lines were everwhere and the fibers from the cheap rollers were dried in the paint on the walls; it looked like "fuzzy walls". When I brought this to Mr. Zarta's attention, he told me that was the best job anyone could do; when I asked him how stupid he thought I was and told him I would not pay him for the paint job, he conceded and told me (like he was doing me a favor) that he would not charge me for that; however, it did cost me to bring in a professional painter to fix the job. The WORST part is that the man NEVER answers his phone once he starts the job--I mean like NEVER and he NEVER returns calls. I had to drive to his place of business and find him. He is extremely rude, condescending, and intimidating to women. I finally had to get a male attorney involved to get things completed and get this man out of my life.
