+ -1 moreWe had an old garage door. A Dawson door, they aren't in business anymore. One of the springs broke and we had to buy a convertor kit. They came and installed the convertor kit. I ordered the convertor kit through them and then their maintenance guy came and put it in. The problem was my car was stuck in the garage and I needed to get it out and we couldn't get the door up at all. They came out that day just so I could get the door open and get the car out. They ordered it that day and then came back probably 4 or 5 days later, whenever they got the part. It was real easy, no problem.
Description of Work: When our garage door broke we used the Sears repair people. It was 6 months ago probably.

+ -1 moreThey didn't show up at all. No call. No apologies from customer service even though I called three times.
Description of Work: I took half a day off. The appointment was scheduled from 1 - 5 p.m. I called at 2:30 and 3:30 and was told they would call me when they were on the way--and it's not 5 p.m. yet. No other information. At 4 p.m. I got a robot call saying they might come after 5 p.m. At 5:50 p.m. I cancelled because I have plans tonight. Took the day off for nothing. Checked Angie's list to find a truly reputable local large appliance repair company. This is sorry behavior for a company that is supposed to have such a great reputation. The other company assured me they can fix my waster dryer and can set an appointment and show up on time.

+ 0 moreDon't expect Sear's large appliances to follow through for installation dates!
Description of Work: Purchased a dishwasher that was to be installed on the above date. Took the day off work, they did not show. I called the installers mid afternoon to only find they "forgot" us. Would send us a $25 gift certificate for our problems. Promised to be out on the morning of June 8, again took the day off from work. No show again. Called the store who gave apologies but nothing they could do, want to reschedule again! Canceled the order and will not buy any large appliances that need installation from Sears. Oh and I have not received that $25.00 gift certificate.

+ -1 moreThey installed the floors and it was guaranteed work. It was great. The follow up and cleanup was all done. The thing that impressed me was that, the man came out gave me some options with the flooring itself and there was a guarantee with it for the installation and the floors itself. I didn’t have to anything and I will use them again in the future.
Description of Work: I used the services of Sears to purchase floors and install the same about 6 months ago.

+ -1 moreThe estimate was extremely high. When we did not take the estimate, the salesman's boss was very rude to us. They kept calling us and lowering the price to try and get us to take their contract. They were very pushy. They even went so far as to say the other companies would try to convince us to go with them. Very bad people.
