It was great! The people were really nice on the phone, and the two men who came to do the work were very fast and professional. I love my new lights! They ended up having to rewire our garage lighting but they did a really good job and they may have saved us from having a fire in the future.

We had recessed lighting put in our dark living room. Service was excellent and well priced. TJ supervised the installation. They had to open a small trench in ceiling and did a clean cut and screwed the drywall back up. They thoroughly cleaned after the job was done. Will use them again.

Mr. Scruggs came out and explained everything the home inspector found that needed to be fixed. He did a good job and was very knowledgable. He even explained in detail some of the additional electrical issues the home inspector found that did not have to be fixed as the house was built before the codes were written. I would recommend him.

Quick diagnosis of problem and fixing of the issue

We used Scruggs Electric Co. last week. They charged us around $350.00. They were here when they said so, I felt they saved me some money as far was switching those outlets out. Their customer service skills were wonderful. The guys were nice, talk to me about what they were doing. How they were doing it. Just really pleased with them.

Original estimate included three receptacles for the over the cabinet lights (flourescent lights not included). Hanging a large hanging light fixture in the foyer (20 ft ceiling). Installing four vanity lights in bathroom. Installing light/fan combo in shower (without separate switch for fan and the light. The owner gave me an estimate of $580 to $790. I told him I would need an additional receptacle for the over the cabinet lights in the kitchen. I had planned to buy the fluorescent lights myself but the owner said he could get a better cost on them. I told him instead of hanging the large hanging light in the foyer I would rather just have the small hanging light hung over the tub in the master. I told him I wanted a separate switch for the fan and the light in the shower. I also told him my wife wanted an additional receptacle upstairs. He stated the price for the additional work would be $90 an hour for two workers. This is where I really was the one that messed up. I should've had him give me a written estimate for the entire job but I didn't. His electricians did come out as scheduled. They were very nice, and very slow. I received a bill for almost $2900. This included the cost of the fluorescent lights in the kitchen ($600). All other lights I had already purchased. I was shocked and called the office. I spoke with his son who explained they worked a total of 18.5 hours and this included the cost of all materials and the lights in the kitchen. My confusion was over the original estimate which the majority of the work was included and what they did extra amounted to a bill over four times the estimate for the originally agreed upon work. We ended up agreeing to a 20% reduction of the bill which I paid. I will say the owner of the company is a very nice man and I don't think really gets involved with the business end of the billing. His son is the one who handles that. They did work with me and like I said in the end it was ultimately my fault for not getting a written estimate for the entire job. If you elect to use this company they do good work but don't get burned by not getting a written estimate for the entire job before they start and do not pay them by the hour because they are slow. I did grade them as and quot;wouldn't use againand quot; because I still feel the cost was high. This said you may have a better experience with them if you do like I said and get it on paper first.

The estimate was reasonable, and they're going to do the work for me. They're very personable, they come on time, and they're going to do all of the work I need. They also suggested some other work.

Telephone service and scheduling was excellent. Tommy, the electrician, showed up as scheduled and moved the switch in the bedroom, even let us know the ceiling light box was in need of repair and told us our fan was shot. Did a neat and professional job switching circuits. He ran out of time and did not do the code work for the garage. The estimate of $700 was to include all 3 projects but the actual bill was almost $1000 for only the two projects (plus the unscheduled repair of the ceiling light box). Was late in returning the estimate, I had to call for it.

I tried to hang a ceiling fan in a box that had been used for light fixtures. When I attached all the wiring, the fan would not turn. When I checked the box, I found a large number of cables coming into the box. I had no idea what they were so I called an electrician. Mr. Scruggs and son came to my house withing fifteen minutes of the time they said they would be there! Within ten minutes, he told me that my doorbell was using this box for power and that power was going from this box to other junction boxes. He removed old electrical tape and stripped the wires and bound them with wore nuts. He then tested the fan and it worked. The best part is, he said he had no idea why it was working. He asked if I wanted him to hang the fan and I said yes. Although the box was old and caused some problems he fixed them all. The only problem I had was that when I asked what the price was he said I would be billed. He gave me a range of $90-$120. Actual price was $145.

During the initial call, they took our information and told us that they would call us back. One week and a half later we had not received a call and followed-up. They apologized and scheduled us for one week later. They arrived on time and were preceded by a call advising us that they were on the way. They got the job done quickly and the price was fine.

We are super happy with the work they did. It was a big job as they had to dig the length of our security fence all the way around the property to connect the two gates on either end. We feel they handled our job quite well. They operate smoothly every time they are used. We felt they worked hard to get the job done for us.

I would say that Scruggs is very professional. They did their work accordingly and have showed no reason for improvement. They were very prompt. If they said they were going to be here, they were here. They also did exactly what they said they were going to do. If I had any questions they answered them accordingly. I am pleased with the outcome. The wiring is fine because I have not inquired any problems as far as electrical nor have the lights went out either. I am really sorry, but, I do not recall a price for this service at all.

Everything had gone smoothly. I thought that the two men who came out were just about as professional as I was going to get. They were very well prepared and they were right on top of things. They worked very well together, meaning they did not argue and they rarely disagreed. You can tell they have been working together for along time. I would have no problems hiring them again.

This company has been in business for years. I have been using them for awhile and for different electrical things we needed fixed around the house. This company is very reliable, and they come right out when they are supposed to.
