We moved in our home in January of 2015. As part of the negotiation of sale, we had the seller pay for replacing the gutters on the home, so we did not choose this business to do the replacement. January 7th, 2015 ? Received quote from Doug Faircloth with Quality Insulation. January 20th, 2015 ? Made our choice of gutter color and set up the install date January 27th ? Gutters were installed April, 2015 ? We started noticing dampness underneath the windows on the inside on the carpet and hardwood floor. Could not figure out where it was coming from. May, 2015 ? More water coming in the windows. Also noticed water was seeping through the foundation and into our basement garage from the overflow of the pitch on the gutters around the gable at our front entrance. At the same time, we got hit with so much water seeping in, we had significant damage to our hardwood floors as well as the drywall in our basement garage. May 29th, 2015 ? Called Doug Faircloth with Quality Insulation to come back out because we had a serious problem with the gutters. Explained the issue and set up an appointment to come take a look June 1st, 2015 ? Sent Doug a text explaining the problem was getting worse. Also sent him two videos of the water overflowing the gutters and causing serious puddling under the windows which was causing the seepage between the foundation and also onto the hardwood floors inside. He explained that the gutters would not catch all the water. I explained to him that there was never any damage from water from prior gutters as it still had original hardwood floors and drywall in basement. So whatever was there before, was getting the job done, although they were cosmetically a major eyesore. June 2nd, 2015 ? Sent Doug a text to get an update on the issues. He stated he had stopped by and saw the areas and turned in a repair ticket and should have a crew out there within 2 days to make repairs to direct water away from problem area. June 3rd, 2015 ? Crew came out and installed another diverter. It pushed the flow of the water away from the two corners that were the source of the problem. June 16th, 2015 ? Sent Doug a text to meet me at our home to see the issues we were dealing with from the damage to the hardwood floors and drywall in the basement caused from the poor installation of the gutters. June 19th, 2015 ? Met Doug at our home shortly after 2:00pm. We walked through the inside and out of the home and I showed him specific areas of damage which were the hardwood floors in our dining room as well as the damage to drywall from the flooding in our garage basement. I explained to him that I wanted him to see because I felt the damaged was caused by gutters themselves or the poor installation of the gutters. We stood outside and discussed this and he agreed that the gutters were not properly installed and the diverter was able to move the water to another point in the gutters to help with the overflow. He also acknowledged that he was there because he understood I wanted Quality Insulation to fix the damaged caused. He also said that?s why they have insurance for situations that may arise just as these. He said he would get with his boss, Greg Forsythe, and they would discuss and he would get back to me. July 7th, 2015 - Sent Doug a text asking for a status update. He stated that he met with his manager and that he should have called me by now, but would check with him. July 14th, 2015 ? Received a message from Greg Forsythe in the afternoon. July 15th, 2015 ? Called Greg Forsythe back and left a message. No return call July 17th, 2015 ? Called Greg Forsythe back and discussed the issue. He asked if it would be ok if he sent a contractor out to our home to view the damage to get an estimate for repair. I said yes. September 15th, 2015 ? Called Greg Forsythe because it had been 2 months since we had spoke and I still had not had any repair people out to my home. He said the repairman should have called me. He stated he would have the repair man call me immediately. October 21st, 2015 ? It?s now been 4 months since I?ve notified Quality Insulation of the issue with the poor installation (that they even admitted) of the gutters on our home. It?s been 3 months since I was first told that a repairman would be contacting me about setting up a time to take a look at the damage. I believe ample opportunity was given to this company to fix their mistakes. I spoke to multiple people with their organization. I believe Doug did everything he could to help the situation by coming out and taking a look, getting the repairs to the gutters corrected, and passing my information along to his manager. But after that, I?ve been completely blown off and I've been the sole initiator of contact. It?s pretty obvious there is no intent to resolve the matter. My advice about using Quality Insulation to have gutters installed is simple?.if you want something that is cosmetically pleasing, you?re at the right place. If you want a product that is functional and, as stated from their website commentary shown below, is a ?gutter system that moves water away from your home?s exterior cladding and foundation? then you?re making a bad decision and could be left with the damages their poor installation caused. Gutters Seamless gutters can enhance the appearance of your home. But gutters aren?t just decorative ? they have an important job to do. A properly sized and installed gutter system moves water away from your home?s exterior cladding and foundation. Old, worn gutters are not just an eyesore. They may be directing rainwater where you don?t want it to go. Properly configured gutters will: Direct rainwater to the driveway or other appropriate drainage route Help prevent entryway waterfalls by directing the flow of rain to downspouts Make maintenance easier with optional leaf protection Enhance curb appeal ? with a choice of colors and styles
