Opach's A/C & Heating

We were very happy that we didn't have to replace our furnace right away (will do that next year). Overall, a positive experience. Nice guys!

Their part of the job went extremely well. They did a great job of checking and cleaning the west side unit and firmly insisted that the west side unit remain closed down until it could be replaced. We appreciated their findings and their honesty, even though they knew the replacement would have to come from another vendor. They said our safety came first with them.

I called to schedule an appointment a month after the purchase. There was miscommunication somewhere as I waited on 2 Nov and never heard anything until I called them. They had the appointment down for the 9 Nov. Opach's said they had just started to use the computerized scheduling. They were very punctual on 9 Nov calling ahead of time which allowed me to remain at work longer. They did an excellent job on the inspection, explaining everything in layman's terms and followed up with what we could have done to make our units (2) more effecient. I would have hired them to do that work, however our home warranty covered the work. If we need Heating/AC work in the future I will call Opach's.

Not much to tell, the Tech came out and checked the unit and found nothing wrong other than the filter.

We'd set an appointment for 7a.m. They didn't show and when I called at 7:15, I was told that their policy was to be there between 7 & 8. This was not the understanding I had, but I could allow for the possibility that the misunderstanding was mine. They were very good at calling me back and emailing me as well to make sure we set another appointment. The following week, however, Oscar showed up at my door at 7a.m. - I was still sleeping and did not know he would be dropping by - with a greeting card and a $20 gift card as an apology for missing our appointment. He said he would refund the rest of my money when they came back to do the service. The day they came back, we had a 7a.m. appointment. They were 10 minutes late and gave the excuse of having to drive through school zones. They put a cheap air filter in my unit. I think they have good intentions, but I think execution was poor, and I didn't like the quality of the materials they used. I was impressed that they refunded my money without being asked, but I found that dropping by my house unannounced at such an early hour a bit bizarre. It's a shame they couldn't be there on time when we actually scheduled it. Despite the good intentions, I don't feel confident I could rely on them to stick to an agreed upon schedule and use quality materials. I would not hire them again.

disappointing. Update: Was called by owner, and was explained on what he considered "professional" ideas for the way he presented himself. "We are not salespeople"... I understand that, but discussed with him the benefits of getting to know clients in a five min time frame. That not all the women that they will meet will not make the decisions. Seemed very open to criticism. Therefor will have them do some of the work, and I will re-vamp the overall grade of the company after the job. Final update: He showed me the articles to be installed and told me what and how they worked. He was more relaxed and with the information, was much more cordial and seemed much more calmer.. not so.. uptight, (for lack of a better word). Will definitely call again.

I bought a deal from Angie's list and set up my appointment. There was a miscommunication about my appointment but they made it right and even offered me a free furnace filter for the inconvenience. We rescheduled my appointment for the next day. Since I am in a fairly new subdivision, they could not find my address on their GPS. I directed them to a store right down the road and I got in my car and met them there. I had them follow me to my house. They said that since I was so understanding and patient that they would do my other unit for free. (I forgot to purchase the coupon for each unit). The manager, Oscar, was so knowledgeable about everything and he gave me pointers without trying to sell me anything! Love that! They did not have the size filter that my units carry so Oscar WENT TO THE STORE and bought me 2 filters! The other man stayed and serviced the furnaces. I texted my hubby and we were both SO IMPRESSED by their customer service that we bought and paid for a 2 year maintenance contract with them. (And they gave us a deal on that too!) I know that human error can be expected but this type of great customer service is never expected! We are truly impressed and HIGHLY recommend this company!

I have called and emailed the company with no response. I gave them 2 weeks for possible dates and times for them to schedule and spent 30 minutes on the email. It was a highly flexible schedule so I felt it was very unprofessional for them not to respond.

The technician was very professional and punctual. The service was efficient and priced fair. Based on the work done I would recommend their service to anyone.

The inspection went great with the tech arriving on time. My husband said everything went as expected and we will call them back again for next years inspection.

Mr. Pruitt was very professional and courteous. He was prompt, and called ahead to let me know he was on the way. He examined what I needed done, and explained in good detail what it would take to get it done properly. It was obvious that he knew what he was talking about. He asked if the room would have a ceiling fan, as it impacted how much duct work would be needed to properly heat/cool the area. I received about nine estimates for my project. Mr. Pruitt's estimate was significantly lower than several other companies who provided estimates for my project, which indicates he is more than fair in his pricing estimates.

An incredibly professional, very pleasant gentleman came and performed a routine maintenance on my exterior AC unit--a deal purchased through Angie's List. Told me all sorts of interesting stuff about my AC unit and was very thorough. Would definitely have him back.

Great. Nothing unusual to mention. He did tell me that when I'm cutting the grass or weedeating, to turn the units off so that they won't suck up the debris and get dirty. I turned them off, and I guess I thought I had turned them back on, but I guess I didn't flip one back on. The Saturday before Father's Day, I called him to say that one was not working. He came out first thing Sunday morning (on Father's Day) and found nothing wrong--other than one unit was not on. He never mentioned that it was Father's Day and didn't try to make me feel like an idiot. He charged me a regular service call fee. I would recommend him to anyone and everyone.

Everything went very well. He was very thorough. I was glad that they had the special on Angie's List. He cleaned up after his mess and used my sprinkler. After he used my sprinkler, he insisted that he put it back to the place where it was at. I thought this was wonderful!

Set up appointment by email. Owner called to confirm appointment. Called the day of appointment to let me know that he was on the way and would arrive on time. I was not home during the appointment but my daughrter was so that he could access the attic. He called me to let me know that I was low on freon and felt that due to the age ofthe unit I might have a pinhole leak somewhere. My unit was installed in 1994 when the huse was built. I asked him what a good choice would be to 1 look for the leak and try to repair the part if possible or 2 replace the unit. He indicated that due to the age of the unit he would recommend replacing it to get a more efficient unit. He estimated the cost at $4,000 and said that if I chose to replace the unit he would credit me the charges that I had paid for. Unknown to him, I had priced to have the unit replaced last fall and the cost from others was $4,500 to $5,800. He recommended an American Standard unit as a replacement. I am going to try and make it through the summer with the current unit but I will be using him when it comes time to replace it.

Work was done very well at a reasonable price. Only shortcoming was some paperwork was done incorrectly and manuals were not provided to us until specifically requested.

My husband contacted Opachs to clean our A/C unit when we received a special e-mail from Angie's List. They came a few days later and arrived a few minutes early. They were thorough and considerate. They explained everything they were doing and what we could do to keep our unit cleaner. Mr. Pruitt advised we replace our furnace as there is a leak and it is beginning to rust (It's 23+ years old). He suggested two options, noting their differences and prices. Very pleased.

Mr. Pruitt and Derrik were very professional and efficient. They went about their work carefully, asked questions when they needed to, and did an excellent job. Mr. Pruitt answered all my questions thoroughly and did an excellent job of explaining things so that I could understand about the leak and how the unit works, and I was very pleased to get a service contract at an extremely reasonable price--including a discount for being a subscriber to Angie's List. The company I have worked with in the past charges more for everything, has been inconsistent in contacting me regarding the twice a year visits, and didn't take the time or the care that Mr. Pruitt and Derrik did. Hooray for OPACHS!

Used Angie's list coupon for A/C annual maintenance service. As per Mr. Pruitt who visited himself, refrigerant was low in both units. one uses R22 ($ 14.16 per lb in market) and other uses R410A ( $ 6.20 per lb in market). I found out the actual cost only after as at the time of service, one would think that with so many A ratings on Angie's list, the contractor would not markup the price so much. I paid $ 45.00 and $ 28.00 per lb respectively. So, for those of you who require refrigerant topping up, please check out the prices before the tech arrives. I learn't later that refrigerant leak does not happen unless you have leaks in the unit and tech needs to search for leaks if refrigerant is low. I will be more informed about these things before a service, the next time.

They are very responsive and they came out the same day we called. They came and corrected the problem. They were very professional and punctual. They cleaned up after themselves. They would respond within four to eight hours of your call according to their policy.

We called and they came out the same day. They replaced the thermostats, and replaced wire on one of the units. We were also given suggestions on what we could do to have our systems run more efficiently. They were very nice and respectful.
