Opach's A/C & Heating

He was on time, polite and professional. He is personable, knows what he is talking about. He is anything you would want in a service provider. I have used him several times in the past and will continue to use him.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that we purchased. It was fine. We paid additional which we were surprised by.

Very prompt. Easy to schedule. Performed furnace check. Gave written feed back. Highly recommended

They did good work and I was satisfied. I spent more than the $62 because I realized that there was additional work that needed to be done. I will use them again in the future.

Super nice tech, very polite, knowledgeable; went over everything that needed to be done, (including the damaged wiring from squirrels being in the attic, which I had just had squirrels removed but didn’t know they had chewed the wiring); he even asked if I had any kind of home warranty that might cover some things (which I did, but I elected to have him do all the work, since he was there and the price was reasonable and I didn’t want to wait). He also mentioned that the units I have looked like they were original to the house (they are) and would probably need to be replaced soon. But he wasn’t pushy about wanting me to agree to doing anything right then. Over all, a very nice experience and I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

freon leaked out within a day; hole in condenser in which service provider did not find. after contacting other service providers, all agreed the service i was provided was less than ideal (though i think it was fair just not the best) and i should have rec'd a refund. No refund was provided and I ended up going with conway who has provided excellent service.

It was okay I guess, I don't have anything good or bad to say.

I called Opach's in mid-January to set date of service. I left a message. Oscar called back and we set date of 2/17/14. On 2/14/14, I called to confirm the appointment and again left message-no call back to say that 2/17/14 was a "go" or "no-go". Today, 2/17/14, I waited about 1.5 hours into Oscar's stated 5-6 hour service window (~9am to ~3pm} and left a text. An hour later, I called my Fiancee, who purchased the service and she also left a message. About 15-20 minutes later, Oscar called and said he'd be at the house at 1pm, which he was. Oscar came to house. I did like the fact he put on disposable overshoes {fabric booties} prior to entering home. As he checked thermostat, he did mess up the programming with random keystrokes. I was unaware that the program had been messed up until after Oscar left and I spent time having to restore it. He also said the house needed a new thermostat as the one already on the wall was probably out of calibration, but did no tests to confirm that statement. I did ask his recommendation as to a brand, but didn't ask he replace the one in place. He visually checked furnace operation; using an instrument, he checked motor voltages; visually checked existing air filter and suggested a pleated filter, which I agree with. He said furnace was in great shape. Oscar then left, he was on-site about 10 minutes. I wouldn't use Opach's again due to the lack of response to messages left, particularly a call to confirm an appointment. That's at the most a one minute return call/message. Customers shouldn't be left guessing-particularly if a customer has to take a day off to see to service. I've dealt with other HVAC service providers and have had much better customer service.

Change out an igniter on heating furnace, $150

It was really tough to get in touch with these guys. They never reached out through the original purchase through Angie's List. My messages only resulted in a "Call us to make an appointment" response. Unfortunately, it took three phone calls to get anyone to call me back. | |Once the guy came out, everything was fine. Turns out my system is in good shape, so he didn't have to do anything other than talk to me. It was a bit of a waste, but that's probably just the nature of it, not their fault. I probably won't use them again for this service.

I contacted Opach's around noon and my call was returned within a few minutes. Oscar informed me that although it was a very busy day, he would come out between 3:30 and 5:30PM. To my pleasant surprise, Oscar contacted me around 2:00PM and let me know he would arrive about 2:15. Wow, now that is service! Oscar perfromed a very thorough check of my heating system and it was clear from the start that he was sincerely interested in diagnosing the root cause as to why our furnace was not working. After a thorough inspection, the culprit turned out to be a faulty thermostat. What impressed me most was that Oscar shared his expertise around the various options for replacement, including recommendations if I wanted to replace the thermostat on my own. In stark contrast to other providers I have used in the past, Oscar was very knowledable and it was clear he was much more interested in gaining a long term customer as opposed to simply making a quick dollar. After considering my options, I chose to have Oscar replace the thermostat becuase the product Opach's installs is clearly superior and it also provided me with the peace of mind of a 5 year warranty. Oscar also took the time to share some additional recommendations that I could perform on my own to maintain the performance of our heating/colling system. If you want repsonsive, professional, and courteous service at a fair price, I would highly recomend Opach's! I will defintiely be using their services in the future!!

Great. Very happy with service. Crew was nice and came in and did their job and got out. Didn't waste their time or mine. Happy with the work. Very happy to have heat today.

We ended up just having them come out for a service call. We needed a new air conditioning and heating unit installed so they applied the service call price towards the installation. Their price was excellent, they were $2000 cheaper than the other estimate I received. They arrived on time and were hard workers. They finished the installation in under four hours. They hauled away the old unit and did not make a mess in my home.

Opach's was very responsive. Called me back within 1 day of purchase of deal to set up appointment. Showed up and performed work and provided a report on condition of furnace units. This is the second time I have used Opach's from Angie's List and I recommend them for your heating and A/C work.

The service was a mixed bag. I didn't feel that I got much for the service--basically an inspection of my current system--with no real "servicing" to ensure that the AC was operational. The recommendation went further, suggesting that there was no way to repair my system and that it was outdated, used freon that is now illegal, had significant leaks, and should be replaced. No other alternatives were suggested. However, I then followed-up with my home warranty, and the system was repaired and upgraded for a fraction of the suggested cost, including replacing the coil system in the AC so that it operated off the new type of freon, rather than the old type that is now illegal. However, since that time I'm not sure that the repairs were the best way to go--the system does not seem to operate very efficiently since the repairs, and I believe that the original provider may have been right, and I should have had the system replaced. Further, it was the actual owner of Opach's who responded, he did so the same day, he was extremely courteous and professional, and felt that he was very trustworthy. So overall, while I expected more than what I got for my original purchase from Opach's, I believe that what I did receive in the way of a service inspection was done well, and that the assessment provided was truthful on the part of the provider.

Showed up on time, checked all vents, equipment and wrote recommendations.

Not satisfied at all. They wanted to communicate and set the appointment via text. They did not perform the services I expected. They never supplied the estimate they stated they would. I had to prompt them and remind them to send it. Then they didn't have my email and needed that. It was a very disappointing experience. Not what I expected from a highly rated Angie's List company.

Very Professional. However concerned about honesty. Was informed that I needed work done that another company stated was not necessary.

Checked a/c units (unit in attic and the fan outside of the building), checked the freon gas pressure through a gauge, checked the regulator switches. Completed the inspection in about 10 minutes. I was expecting some recommendations as to how to keep the units more efficiently. Didn't hear anything. There was some minor leak in the A/C Unit. Failed to report that. I found it later and fixed it with the silver tape. For the 10 minute job, I felt the pricing was way too high.

Overall, I'm happy, the work was completed in a time frame and duration to my satisfaction. I thought the scheduling was a bit clumsy, I think the person that initially answered my call was at a job, thus, may have been distracted. So, he had forgotten to ask me for my house # and told me that it was the "21st century" and that they communicate via text. I don't have a problem with text messages, but to be told that is a primary form of communication is not preferred by me, but it was my wife who was home, so she likes texting more than me and I let it be. The technician did not show up at the scheduled time, but he did call my wife and explain that the job took longer than expected and gave an estimated time when he would be over, which he was, so I appreciated this professionalism. Finally, the total bill was less than I expected and it took less time than I thought, and he didn't try to upsell or try to convince us to purchase a product or service that we didn't need, so I greatly appreciated that, but I do believe there is a markup on the parts. I'm not complaining about this because I believe that even though you take care of a customer, you still have to make money. What I also liked, was that I was asked how I heard of them, and when I said Angies list, He immediately gave me the coupon price and did not "neglect" to tell me about the deal, but honored it. So, I would probably use again. Hopefully not soon.

I contacted the company and left the man who answered the phone my name and number to schedule an appointment. About 2 weeks went by before I had to call them back to schedule the appointment. It was set for 1 week out and on the day of the appointment they called to say they couldn't make it. We rescheduled for 2 weeks out and when they arrived I was across town on my motorcycle that had just broken down while I was on my way home. The man was upset that I wasn't home and hung up on me when I tried to set another appointment. The lack of customer care will keep me from using or recommending them.

Standard AC tune-up. He couldn't access the evaporator coil which ultimately failed one month later. Wasn't his fault, but could have saved us a very expensive electric bill for a month while the coil was in the process of failing and our machine was running at probably half of typical efficiency. Otherwise he seemed to do a good job and was very polite and courteous. I will probably use the company we contracted to replace the coil for check-ups in the future, but I would have had no problem otherwise using Opach's in the future.

I sold my house back in June and two days before the closing my A/C unit quit working. I called around and checked reviews and decided to go with Opach's. I told them I was under a time constraint and they were able to work me in sameday. The technician was on-site within a few hours of when I called, ran some general diagnostics, and immediately identified my problem. He had the part I needed on hand and had the unit back together and running in less than an hour from when he first arrived. Great work, very responsive, and friendly technician.
