Went fine. Would add nothing more or less.
Description of Work: This was a "Deal" from Angie's List and was for the inspection of the entire house plumbing system. Tech was on time, and professional. Was unable to preform visual/video inspection of drains to street as we di not know where the main clean out access is located. Offered estimate to install and inspect main line if access was made available. House built mid-fifties and only small access lines able to be located.

They do good work and their price is reasonable. They were here when they said they would be, were courteous and clean. They do good work. They don't do any major work, but I would call them again.

We feel that the $69.00 was a complete waste. I think he could have fixed the toilet for that price. As it was, we called AHS and had to pay their $75.00 fee also and the toilet was fixed within 30 minutes. We felt like Mr Rooter was out to make money on bigger repair items.
Description of Work: We paid for the $69.00 toilet tune-up and plumbing assessment. The technician said the toilet repair was not covered under the $69.00 and then gave me a list of leaking faucets and then said we needed a new hot water heater. The next day we called our American Home Shield (AHS) repair in and the toilet only needed a ballvalve to fix the problem. The leaking faucets were a problem we were aware of but have intentions of replacing them in the near future with a remodel so they are not an issue for present. However, we had the AHS appointed repairman look at the hot water heater and he said there was not an immediate need for replacement. We are aware that the heater is about 15 years old so will need to be replaced in the near future but the Mr Rooter technician indicated a need for immediate replacement. AHS said there was a little water in the pan and to just keep an eye on possible further deterioration.

After a sub-par repair job of our toilets in our new home by a plumbing company sent by our home warranty service provider, I called in Mr. Rooter - based on Angie's list reviews. They were prompt, professional, came within a day of my call, and did outstanding work. It was pricey but I am confident that they are fixing all our problems!
Description of Work: Replaced one toilet, and re-built the rest of the toilets in our home. Also, diagnosed that a leak under my kitchen sink was not the inflow line, but the faucet itself. They will be coming back tomorrow to replace the faucet.

Plumber came two hours after initial phone call was made to Mr. Rooter regarding an overflowing toilet when washing machine was in use. Determined issue of main line clog (it has happened before) and began pushing cable through to flush out main line. He spent the entire day here, and I had to check on him every now and again. He explained the difficulty of flushing, that he could not get through with his cable and that he broke one of my pipes in his attempt to do so. Repaired the pipe but then wrote up an estimate of how much it would cost to replace 30 feet of pipe (due to tree root growth) without establishing the pipe's location with the city inspection. Charged almost $200 for the day's work and estimated his costs to be just over $3,000 to replace pipe, etc. Tried to rush me into a decision saying that I had half an hour essentially to decide whether or not he could do it the next day...and now I know why. The plumber left half of his cable in our pipes! It had broken off and he had not informed us that he had just left it in there. Luckily I was able to get my normal plumbing company out the next day, and they quickly remedied the problem- after, though, having to spend several hours removing Mr. Rooter's cable, which cost me an extra $200-$300 in labor. AND their estimate was about $400 cheaper than Mr. Rooter's estimate. (I highly recommend American Tech Plumbing and will write a review for them as well- local family owned company with a wide breadth of experience in.) Would absolutely never call this company again. Plumber was unprofessional and unskilled, ultimately failing in his job all together. Prices are extremely high and expertise are not. Especially if you have an older home like I do, with trees all around, call the experts! Do not call this fast food chain of the plumbing industry, they may come out quickly, but their work will not sustain the life and function of your plumbing.
Description of Work: Hired to flush out the main line that was clogged. Came out the same day, but that's about the extent of nice things I can say about this company.

It was a wonderful experience - stressful, as most surprise home repairs are, but the service and professionalism displayed made it as pleasant as it could be.
Description of Work: I initially called them because my kitchen ceiling was leaking, and I believed that my upstairs toilet was leaking. Chris came, and did a very through job of checking the toilet, and determined that it was not the problem. After further investigation, it was determined that my 18 year-old water heater was leaking, and had been leaking for some time, and needed to be replaced. They left, and returned the next day with a replacement toilet and a new water heater, and had it installed in a short amount of time - and even vacuumed before they left! They arranged for the electrician to come and install the wiring for the water heater, and coordinated both the electrical and plumbing inspection to occur on the same day.

Had water leak near the meter. Called late afternoon requesting AM appointment and they were there the next morning at the scheduled time. Christian, the technician was polite, informative, and prompt. I was quoted a price for digging up a small section of the yard and replacing the leaking pipe and was also advised that if the leak was farther back than estimated that it would cost more. Christian found the problem - a loose nut connecting the main pipe to the meter - repaired it, and put everything neatly back as it was before the digging. THEN I was actually charged LESS than the quote since the problem was found to be smaller than anticipated. The entire process took less than 90 minutes. I will definitely use them again if plumbing work is required.

I called on Friday and was able to get an appointment the next day! Service was excellent, and Chris Anderson, my plumbing professional, was especially great. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and explained everything to me in a way that I could understand. He took a look at the entire plumbing system throughout the house, including the tankless water heater I have, and even fixed a couple of things that I wasn't expecting like a shower handle. Wonderful service.
Description of Work: Had a side sprayer replaced and ended up purchasing the 3 year Adantage plan since I have had several plumbing issues in my house (built in 1942). The technician Chris Anderson was great and inspected the entire plumbing system in the house.

This morning when I called, Anne Johnson, the owner, answered. She listened carefully as I described the slow draining problem I'd noticed in one of the master bath sinks and in the half bath sink and told me she had a plumber available immediately. Jeff came within 20 minutes, cleaned out the drain line for my master bath, the half bath, and the kitchen/laundry. To help prevent algae buildup in the master bath sink drain line caused by the air conditioning condensation draining into the line, I purchased their enzyme product that Jeff installed in both sinks and in the washing machine. The service I received today could not have been better. Jeff wore booties over his shoes, listened to me, answered my questions, explained everything fully, gave me several options during the estimate, checked my air conditioning drain and water heaters, and did the work efficiently and professionally. I will be calling on Mr. Rooter of Memphis again if needed!

I had what was initially thought to be a clogged drain pipe, which after the technician arrives and did some troubleshooting, turned out to be a (44 year old) cast iron drain pipe that had deteriorated over time. The technician was extremely professional and patient with my questions and adapted to the changing situation that was unraveling before me. All things considered, this could not have gone smoother. I do not have a single negative thing to say about the technician or the folks who took my calls. I will definitely use them for any future jobs!

I decided to call Mr. Rooter based on the many positive comments they've received on Angie's List. I haven't needed any plumbing work done in years. The woman who took my call and scheduled the service appointment with Mr. Rooter was friendly and helpful. I made the call on Thursday, and was able to get a Saturday morning appointment -- that in itself was remarkable to me! The service technician, Chris, called ahead on Saturday morning, and arrived exactly on time. Chris was extremely polite, clean uniform, very well-spoken and very professional. He asked me questions, and he took a look at the location of each toilet, and went into the attic to examine the hot water heater. Almost immediately, he discovered that the thermostat on the heater was broken. More importantly, Chris noticed that the pipes connected to the top of the water heater were rusting, and a leak had developed at the point where a pipe entered the tank. I was really surprised by that bit of news, but I saw it for myself. I was so glad he spotted that leak! He explained that although the use of steel pipe meets code requirements, it DOES rust through rather quickly, and copper pipe is far, far better. I had always known that copper was the best choice for plumbing, but had simply never paid any attention to the pipes before. At this point, Chris carefully explained the repairs that the water heater needed, gave me some options, went over the cost of each repair, along with detailed cost information for the toilet installation. The pricing for each service is spelled out clearly, like a menu, in a company notebook. A great idea -- this way, you can see the prices right in front of you, and you don't have to wonder if the technician is just pulling figures out of thin air. And the total is the total; no surprises after the work is completed. Chris called to locate a supplier open on Saturday so he could go get a new thermostat for the water heater. He left to pick it up, then returned promptly to begin work. Chris worked straight through the day without a break. He was quiet, polite, and kept each work area very clean. He replaced the steel pipe with copper, installed a new thermostat and, of course, the two new toilets. As he completed each task, he would show me the work and explain anything that needed explaining. After he removed them, Chris showed me the rusted steel pipe sections from the water heater. I could clearly see the corroded-looking areas on the outside, as well as a shocking amount of thick rust buildup on the inside of every section. And although I hadn't asked him to, he told me he had unclogged a sink in the master bathroom that he noticed was draining slowly -- no charge. He also hauled away the old toilets, which I had assumed I would have to deal with, and all the boxes the new toilets came in. No charge. That was a courteous thing to do. I appreciated the "above and beyond" of it. The complete job took six hours, and I am extremely pleased with the results. The level of knowledge and professionalism Chris has shown reflects well on the entire company. I would use them again in a heartbeat.
Description of Work: We had put up with cheap, contractor-grade toilets in our house long enough. One flushed so badly that we had to use a plunger nearly every day. The other one was so difficult to flush, we had to remove the tank lid and pull up the flush valve by hand. These toilets had to go! We needed them removed and replaced with new ones I had purchased online (from a large building supply company). We also had a problem with the hot water heater -- a 50-gallon unit, yet we had started to run out of hot water after only a few minutes of use. I had no idea what the problem was, especially since our house is only six years old. The service tech from Mr. Rooter was able to identify the problem with the water heater right away, and make repairs. He replaced the toilets with no problems whatsoever -- the new ones work incredibly well.

My experience was excellent. The one issue was that the technician was sent to an appointment more than a hour away with a challenging issue which delayed him from getting to me by two hours. However, the office kept me informed and Christian was well work the wait. He was thorough, professional, explained what he would be doing, discussed the price before he started. Took the time to educate me on the water heater and its workings, did not try to sell me unneeded parts or services. He explained his company high standards and need to perform by required to code. He gave me an idea of the expansiveness of Mr. Roote's services. He discovered the temperature on my water heater was at a temperature above code and explained the damaging and potentially dangerous impact of that action. I could not have asked for a better service and plan to rely on Mr. Rooter who based on Christian's explanation is able to provide complete plumbing services. Angie list is worth the membership for identifying excellent services like this one.
Description of Work: My water heater sprung a leak from a source that was not immediately evident. Christian the technician identified it almost immediately under the installation as leak in a welded elbow pipe that he said should not leaked but once he peeled back the insulation it obviously was. He explained all the knobs and how to adjust them as well as the workings of the water heater, the source of rust on top which he said wa not an issue but to check. He also discovered the builder's installer had the temperature of the water heater set at 160 degrees which he explained was higher than code standards allowed him to set, could be dangerous and would put premature wear and tear on the water heater. He adjusted for me and showed me how to adjust it if needed. He fixed it promptly, checked out a running toilet which he fixed with a minor adjustment at no charge and identified an internal source of the leak in my refrigerator. Christian was thorough, professional . He remembered my Angie's List coupon and based on that and the discount available from a membership, I got the membership, a sizeable discount for this service and the next three years for about the cost of the service without the coupon or membeship. Mr. Rooter is my new plumbing service

came on a weekend because i wanted to finish a project immediately and my usual plumber wasnt available for non-emergencies. got there within three hours of when i called which was great. i chose the company because the phone book said they didnt charge weekend or after hours charges, but when he quoted me the price my jaw hit the floor. since i had done some of the work myself he was able to drop the price some, and he did end up doing some extra small things that i asked about for no extra charge so that helped. the quality was great and he was very quick and helpful, my only issue was the price. the plumber for this larger company just takes rates from a rate sheet and doesnt have the control over price that a smaller local firm has, thats why i will always use my regular plumber going forward. but other than price i was happy with the work.
Description of Work: I had removed a toilet, and replaced ceramic tile on the floor of a bathroom. When the tile work was done I realized my new tile was sitting about half an inch lower than my old, which meant that the collar for the toilet drain was too high above the floor level for the toilet to sit flush with the floor. Obviously a problem, so this company came out and removed the old collar and replaced it with a new one, then seated the toilet for me. He charged it as if I were replacing a toilet, but since I had already done part of the work (removing the old toilet) he gave me the "member" rate even though I'm not a member, and also replaced a bath tub drain cover for me that I was having trouble removing myself at no extra charge.

I called and scheduled an appointment to get an estimate for a broken water line on the afternoon of the day before Thanksgiving. Jeff came out and gave me an estimate. I asked how soon before he could get around to fixing it...figuring it would be Friday (after Thanksgiving) if I was lucky and most likely Monday. To my surprise, he said right now and proceeded to repair the break. He dug down through the mud to expose the broken water line, made the repair and waited for the cement to dry. He turned on the water and I checked all the indoor faucets and everything seemed good. As he was in his truck getting ready for his next job, I heard a gushing sound again. I looked out the window and a ton of water was flowing into my neighbor's yard. Luckily, I caught him before he left and he redid everything and allowed longer for drying. All this was late on the day before Thanksgiving when most everyone (including me) is wanting to get an early start on the holiday. Jeff stayed until he was sure the job was complete and I was satisfied. I was very pleased with the entire experience and will use Mr. Rooter again for any future plumbing needs.

Mr. Rooter was prompt and efficient in cleaning out the line and there has been no trouble since. This is the second time this has had to be done and won't be the last. Next time, I'll heed Jeff's (our personal plumber) advice and call him every other year to do this work. I have used Mr. Rooter several times in the past 5 years for seveal plumbing issues and have never been displeased with the quality of their work or their professionalism. They are the best.

The work turned out great. They are a good company. We have used them a couple times over the last couple of years. Whenever we call, they are quick to respond and are able to come out pretty quick. We had a warranty that had expired by two days and they were able to still honor it for us. Jeff Volding is the same plumber that has come every time and he has been very good. They are very courteous and respectful. They also clean up well after themselves. We have been very happy with their work.
