Mr Rooter Plumbing of Memphis

Thanks to this company and especially Chris A., who was polite, professional, and shared his knowledge with us, a very stressful situation was fixed quickly and perfectly. When called to clear a drain blockage, he discovered a 5' collapsed portion of the main sewer line. He came out two days later with his assistant and ended up having to replace 10' of the line. The price to fix 5' was given upfront, before any work began, and we were not charged more for the additional 5'. This price was perfectly reasonable to us, as we understand we're not just paying for the hours the work requires, but also the experience and expertise required to be a great plumber. As for honesty, I asked (more than once) if the entire line should be replaced, as it is an old house, but Chris assured us that only the 10' were affected. The best part, and what ensures that we will request him again, is that he is available for advice. My husband called a few days later to inquire about our frozen pipes, and Chris gave the necessary information. He then called hours later at 8:30 pm, during what I suspect was his personal time, to make sure we weren't having trouble with them. As a new homeowner, this kind of support and care is invaluable. Considering this occurred during a time when pipes were bursting all over the city, the individual attention was truly impressive. We highly recommend this company.

First off I read the reviews initially on Angie's List and was excited to choose Mr Rooter but that quickly changed once I realized that they aren't as professional as the reviews lead me to believe. I set my appointment for the 4th of Jan (Saturday) and the technician called me back to say he would be there Saturday @ 10a.m. 10 a.m. came and went , 11 a.m. came and went and so on and so forth and I called around 1p.m. to see what was the problem and why wasn't I receiving a phone call to let me know he was going to be late. The answering service said he would be there within the hour. An hour came and went, No Technician, No phone call. Finally I get a call to say he is on the way and he gets there about 3:30 that afternoon!!!! My whole day was completely shot! I didn't get an apology for tardiness from the Tech, no explanation non what so ever! I just got a bill for services to which even after the $30 off coupon, it was still almost $300 just to repair a faucet drip. Needless to say I won't be using their service again!

I want to thank Mr Rooter for the services provided during this last freeze, from Tammy who took my call to Kevin the main guy who did the repairs, Bennett the apprentice helping and Bob who finished everything up the day after. Everyone I encountered at Mr Rooter was very professional, and helped make an awful experience better. It's generally not a good day when you have to call a plumber, and a lot of us needed plumbers over this past big chill. These people were working long hours, missing meals and in extreme conditions, yet I never saw one of them get angry or impatient. In fact quite the opposite, they were always very patient, answering mine and my wife's questions, taking time to explain things and doing the job right. When you call Mr Rooter you talk to a very nice lady, Tammy, who gets you a plumber as quick as she can. I had to call her back for a question after the plumbers had left, and Bob called me within 3 minutes, which I thought was incredible given the demand for them at the present time. We called Mr Rooter because our water heater quit and one of the tubs wouldn't drain. Kevin looked at the tub first, he told us he felt is was simply frozen because of it's proximity to the outside wall and roof. When we asked about snaking it to clear it, he said he could, went over the prices and left it up to us. His instinct was right and the tub drained later that day. I commend him for his honesty and professionalism, he could have made a few more bucks on a job not needed, but that's not how they work. An interesting aside about pricing too, they all have a book with the prices for each service broken down inside, standardized. So each plumber you get is going to charge the same thing, for the same job. While Kevin and Bennet were finishing up the water heater, the line feeding it which was frozen, ruptured. It was blessing to have plumbers in the house, although it takes your breath away to see water pouring down your walls. Kevin and Bennet sprang into action getting all the valves open in the house they could, the power to the pump was already off, but the master shutoff valve had failed, so it was of no help (next job for Mr Rooter when their schedule clears a bit). When everything was done, Kevin had to wait on the glue to dry for the connection to the water heater, after a very long day, he found that the connection leaked, so had to redo the fitting and to be safe, replaced the valve. That worked, but he found a small leak in the transition fitting on the hot water side after that. He did not have the parts for that repair and since it was only a drip, he promised the fix would be done the next am. And it was. Mr Rooter sent Bob out to fix the drip. I had a lot more questions for Bob, questions for getting the house ready for the next freeze kind of thing. Now Bob had got home around 2am and was up early again working, but he had all the patience in the world and a lot of great ideas. He fixed the drip, took measurements, gave us an estimate and offered cost effective alternatives (20 years experience) for handling our concerns. I will defiantly use Mr Rooter again. Each man shook my hand when they got out of their van, listened to me and answered my concerns. They did not rush in an attempt to get to the next job, they took the time to put boot covers on when they came inside and they fixed our plumbing problems. Everyone I encountered was very personable, I enjoyed talking with and meeting each one of them, I just wish it was under better circumstance, but it is what it is and they they made that part of it easier. A+

I think the technician was Christian? He was absolutely wonderful. Very professional. He found the problem with my non-functioning garbage disposal. It took him about 10 seconds to discover the problem and fix it without disassembling or disconnecting any appliances, etc. He was kind and showed me how to discover and fix this problem in the future on my own. BUT!! because of the policies of his company he had to charge me the full price of a visit even though it took only 10 seconds. I am displeased with the COMPANY as they charged such a high price (over $100.00) for about 10 secs of work. Though, on the other hand I understand to employ and pay technicians such as Christian and pay them a good salary they must charge to cover their costs. But really? I just wish the COMPANY would give more discretion to the technicians on whether or not to charge the full price when the solution may be found in less than a few minutes???

Chris was awesome...So very helpful and knowledgable! We had tried to get the jacuzzi pump from a couple other plumbers, and they either were not able to find a replacement pump or just never called us back. Will definitely call them next time we need some plumbing or appliance repair.

It went fine. I didn’t have them perform the services, but I appreciated them coming out and taking a look at everything.

A tenant was complaining of leaking in her bathroom. Our maintenance man eliminated all of the problems that he was able to handle and then we called Mr. Rooter. They immediately diagnosed the problem and gave us a estimate for fixing the problem. The actual cost was less than the estimate. They did a great job and left the wall in great shape to fix the hole necessary to access the problem.

The technician arrived within an hour of my phoning them. He checked everything over, explained the pricing very clearly after finding the tripped switch, and before proceeding with the diagnostic checks. Everything was handled professionally. I will be using them again.

The plumber arrived within 15 minutes of my call. He put covering over his shoes and was neatly dressed. He quickly determined that the problem was with the flow mechanism of the toilet and was not a sewer line blockage. He came prepared with the appropriate parts and quickly made the repair. He was well-spoken, polite and patient with my questions. I thought the bill was outrageously expensive although it is probably not that far out of line with plumbers' prevailing prices. Altogether a pleasant experience except for the bill.

They were supposed to arrive between 9:30 and 11AM. The company called meat 9:45AM to let me know that the service man was on his way. Jeff was prompt, respectful and completed the job with extreme professionalism. He, willingly took a look at my toilets though that was not a part of my initial request.

The service provider did a good job. It was very expensive though. They were willing to honor the angie's list discount as long as I hired them for more jobs but it would still have been way more expensive. For example, they were willing to fix my shower for 100 + dollars. However, I could do it myself, though it took me about 30 minutes with help from youtube.

The technician was professional; took care of the problem by running a snake down the toilet; however, I feel the cost was too pricey for a ten minute job.

Same day appointment and work. Quick, neat, and professional service. Pleasant staff and technician. No hesitation to use their services again based on this and prior work done.

I would give them top marks. They were very responsive. They came when expected. I'd have to ask my husband, I don't recall exactly what they did. He came out and looked at everything and they gave us a written quote on the spot. The quote was reasonable.

Went well. Stayed until the job was obviously done correctly. Agreed to come back within 24 hours if problem reoccurred.

They came out and accessed the fact that my old water heater was rusted on top due to a leak in the feed pipe above. Gave me a price and installed the new one over the course of two days. It would have been one day, except that the plumbing in my old house was reversed as it came out of the subbasement, and they had to come back the next day to finish. My old water heater vent was not up to code so they had to re-vent the new one. I'm sure I could have shopped around and gotten slightly lower price, but the convenience was worth it to me and they did a great job. They were extremely thorough and conscientious. They had to go in and out of the back yard, and I have a crazy kitten who tries to get out of the back yard (couldn't stay in house because of plumbers). They were very careful about shutting the gate behind them.

They are just prompt and professional. They knew their job.

After specifically outlining some issues we had, the company still failed to address a number of the problems. I just feel like the service was only performed to give me an estimate for a larger job that I really don't need.

It went extremely well. This is actually the second time I've used Mr. Rooter. I had Christian for my first call for a leaking refrigerator (which he repaired) and requested him for this second visit. The second visit involved trying to determine where a small water leak was coming from in my front yard from the main water line. Christian and his co-worker Marcus ... dug for a couple of hours - found the leak and repaired it. They were very careful to replace the dirt and sod as neatly as they could. Tammy - the scheduler in the office - kept me informed of when Christian would be there and called once to say he would be a little later than expected and said when. What a nice phone call to have - rather than to wonder how much longer the technician would arrive. Very professional. Very honest and kind company to work with.

THEY WERE AT THE PROPERTY ON TIME. THEY DID EVERYTHING THE COULD TO KEEP THE PROPERTY CLEAN AND NOT CREATE A LOT OF DAMAGE. THEY WERE VERY PRECISE. THEY FOUND NOT ONE BUT TWO LEAKS.
