I recently bought a house that at one point had beautiful floors, but time and, I surmise, pets, took their toll. Before moving in I did my research and narrowed down to 3 companies to quote the work. Danny met me at the house on my lunch hour to take a look at the floors, take measurements for the quote, and determine what my goals were. He pointed out that the shoeboarding could, and would, be removed prior to sanding so that it wouldn't be eaten away by the sanding equipment. Due to pet stains, he quoted splicing in new boards as a separate line item. I had a few follow-up questions later on that I emailed him about, and always received quick replies. Ultimately, I decided to go with Midsouth Flooring for my refinishing for a few reasons. First, Danny was very easy to reach and more responsive than the others I had quote. Second, availability and my schedule worked out pretty well. Third, the price seemed about right when compared to the other quotes. Danny and I worked out a pickup method for the keys, and his crew got to work on the scheduled day. I went by on my lunch hour and they had three shades of finish applied to small adjacent squares of sanded floor in the coloring range I'd discussed with Danny. I made my selection, then went back to work. The timeline progressed as Danny had described, and in a couple days after the sealant was applied I returned to look at the floors from just inside the door. I was surprised the stains were all sanded out without need for lacing in new wood, which saved me a bit of money. The color looked great and exactly what I was looking for. A day or two later Danny and I met up to review the work in person once everything had dried. We walked around and noted a couple things that weren't quite put back as intended. He finished re-placing the shoeboarding in one of the closets, and applied a little putty into one crack between boards that we found while reviewing. I also noticed that when the workers took down the curtains before getting started, one of the curtain rod fixtures pulled out of the wall, taking some drywall with it. We looked this over, and he vowed to fix that as well. Within a day or two I returned and it looked just as it had before, and held weight just fine. While I can't say everything went 100% to plan, I will say Danny was just as critical of the work as me, and made sure everything was fixed up and taken care of before even discussing payment. I thought that was a nice touch, as he seemed to genuinely care about the quality of the job and not just getting a check. Overall the work went well. The floors turned out like I'd hoped, the dust remaining afterward was incredibly minimal, and communication throughout the process easy. I'd definitely recommend Midsouth Flooring to anyone in the area looking to have their hardwood refinished.

Excellent! Everything they needed was on the truck and the quality of work is great. They cleaned every area in which they worked and carried all the refuse away. The job is outstanding!

Rough in the beginning, talking at cross purposes and understanding scheduling process. Once work began, though, it was quick, clean and high quality work. Once we were in sync, Jody was very accommodating.

It was just ok. They did not cull the wood as they installed so there are multiple knots. They put down the wrong stain color, but it was close enough of a match to live with. We had them install stair treads. The skirt boards do not match and there are multiple places that look unfinished. There is one place in the middle of the floor in one room with a 2 to 3 inch place with woodfiller. Not sure what happened but it is a blemish.

Terrible. They left big gouges in the floors, which they tried to hide with wood filler that did not match the floors. Very disappointed in job. would not hire again and would suggest anyone who wants new floors look elsewhere.

Mr. Bernard was very explanatory of the process and time table involved with the project start to finished. He responded promptly to any email or text messages I sent through out the process. The project manager and crew were top notch and keep things neat clean and orderly through out the house while working. We were very pleased with the entire process and love the completed project!

The estimate they gave me did not include the boards, so it would be much higher than the company I chose. They didn’t charge me for the estimate. I called four of them. I told them I’m calling from Angie’s List and they were just different. They responded promptly and they sent me the estimate promptly. They were just higher than the company I chose, and they didn’t include the boards in to it, so I knew it would have to be higher when they put the boards in. Also, the maximum discount was lower than the company I choose. They are a good company. I received the estimate and compared with the others. I don’t want to hurt them, but I found another company, I will not use them. If somebody wanted to use them, then I would recommend them to use.

Workers were prompt and courteous. Job was done with very little dust in home. Explained every thing that was done step by step. I was very satisfied with the overall job that they did.

Danny came out and reviewed the job and sent a very reasonable quote. We made the appointment and we were the ones that had to change the date. They were very nice about accommodating our change. They showed up on time for the appointment, they were neat and didn't leave a mess, very professional The floors look great and we would highly recommend them.

I am extremely satisfied by the work. We plan on using them again in the future.
