fair price, good work

I was extremely pleased with them. They were very professional, efficient, and punctual. The price was right compared to other people and they gave me my discount.

I thought that they were professional. What made it so expensive was that the tree had spikes on it so they would have to use special equipment to deal with the tree. We just decided to leave the tree alone because I didn't realize what would be involved in dealing with the tree.

Somebody came by and got an estimate, I agreed on it, they came back removed it and then made sure to send a truck back later to remove the debris and tree.

Sean provided an estimate on 1/4/12. He was on time and very professional. Provided the lowest bid and promised they would not leave until I was satisfied with the work. On the day the work was done, one of the trucks was on time and one of them was late. They finished the job in about 6 hours and left. No one asked me if I was satisfied with the work as Sean promised. They left several downshoots that I thought should have been removed. They rutted the yard with one of the trucks and the bobcat that was used to remove debris. They pulled up the edging around one of the trees with the bobcat, broke branches on bushes around the trees and overall did a poor job of cleaning up the debris. It's been 3 weeks since the work was done and no one has asked me if I was satisfied with the work. The billing department works fast. I received the bill within 2 days of the work being completed. The bill did not include the 10% discount advertised on Angie's List.

Got an estimate which was priced better then the others, the finished half the job before their crane broke down but when they came back out to finish a few days later they ground the stumps also. Very happy with their service.

They did a good job and they had a good price. To start off with, the guy got out here pretty soon after I called for an estimate. He was thorough and professional. We had a storm back in the spring that caused the damage to the house plus a few other things. We also have a lot of trees on our property. The guy gave me an estimate while he was out here. He told me all about his company. They got every piece of equipment from A to Z. They got all kinds of storm clean up and tree cutting equipment. The man who was here was a certified arborist. We got them out here several weeks later as soon as the timing and the finances worked out. Then we set a date. They did come out here that day when they said they would, but I thought that they would call us a few days or maybe a week beforehand to confirm that. They never called, but they did show up on the appointed day. I spent about $4715 for their services. While they were out here, they did a real good clean up. They didn’t damage the house or anything. They came and did the work. It took about two days for them to do everything or over a day and a half. They did break a board with a limb that they dropped off from one of our old trees where they were trimming it back. It was a wooden fence. It wasn’t all that much and I took care of it. I did take about $35 off for that. Then we had an overhead phone line that we had to take down. They got some equipment tangled up with the phone line. It was supposed to be tied off well. So, I took off for that a little bit. I took care of that as well. That was a very minor thing for such a huge job. Overall, they did very well. Even though their price was a lot, there were other tree companies that were over $7500. Price wise, Michael’s was good or better than they would have been. When it comes to quality, I am not going to take off for the fence board and the guy knew about that. There was a guy named Brian who came out here from their company. He had to come back and there was a question about trimming one of the large oak trees to shape it up so that it wouldn’t be dangerous in the future if it fell on the house. It’s a two story house and the oak tree is kind of close to it. He came back out here that afternoon and he talked with his crew. Then the crew trimmed it up nicely; so it was good. They came at about 8 o’clock on the appointed day. Then they said they needed over half a day when they came the next day. It ended up being half a day the next day to finish up the work. Their crew came and finished it up. The only thing was that they didn’t confirm it a day or two or even a week before they were due to come out here just to see if everything was still set from our end to have them do the work. I didn’t get a confirmation call that I expected like you get from your doctor a few days before your appointment. It was a huge job and they had a lot of equipment. I think they had a crew of 4 and they got the work done within the time that they said they would. So, I think they did well.

I was happy with the service and was the price was competitive. They were really careful and my tree seems to be doing well.

I spent $2400 on that service. About three of the trees were pretty large and a couple of them were pretty small. Everything went very well and I would highly recommend them to others. They did the work they were supposed to do and did it in one day just like they said they would. They showed up when they said they were going to show up and everything went very smooth. It was close up against the fences and house and that was a concern, but everything went exactly like it was supposed. There were no problems, damage and I was very happy with the service.

He took the tree limb down. They were responsive right after a pretty big storm. I was concerned about the limb falling and causing damage to mine or my neighbor's house. He was friendly. It was sort of an urgent situation. The price that he quoted to remove the entire tree was about $1800 more than what I eventually got it done for.

Overall, they did a fantastic job! Had the tree moved just 6 inches it would have damaged even more of our house. The insurance adjuster was prepared to include more damage in his estimate after the tree was removed but there was no additional damage to our surprise. They did a great job and were extremely professional and responsive to our needs.

Scheduled an appointment for an estimate on tree removal on 6/27/11. Salesman came out and provided reasonable estimate. Called office to accept bid, no one an phone lines. Left a message. Return call indicated Salesman had not yet returned to the office with the bids. They told me they would call me back the next day. We never received that call. Two and a half days later I had to call them to indicae that I did not want their services since I did not hear from them. For some reason they were not interested in my business.

They were here right on time and were very polite and professional. The kids sat down at the picture window looking out our back yard and watched while they ate breakfast! They were done and cleaned up in great time. We have used them before and would call them again. Their price was about $350 less than the next bid.

We had some tree limbs hanging from oak and birch trees and a lot of debris on the front and back parts of our roof. We first contacted them in early May and after an estimate we got on their list of jobs to be done. There was a tremendous amount of tree work in the Memphis area because of several violent storms so we were not surprised at the waiting time. What we were surprised by was their ignoring our calls trying to confirm the date of the work so we could make arrangements for someone to be here. We never did get any response from them but they did show at 8:00 AM on the agreed upon day. Their work was top notch. If they had better phone service I would have rated them Excellent.

I have to say that this was a phenomenal experience. Brian was punctual at the agreed upon time of the estimate and gave me a very fair quote. What I particularly loved was that he took the time to really listen and understand my desires. Brian was very confident and also projected an air of confidence as he looked my large oak over. There was a branch lying on the ground, and he even picked it up, looked at the end, and tried to determine where it came from! Not skimping on time during a free estimate walk through! He was also great at clarifying what was REALLY necessary and what could be done to make the tree healthy. When I told him that I had another person coming in right after him to give me another estimate, he asked who the company was...and then - he told me EXACTLY what they would say and how much they'd charge. He definitely knows his competition because the next company's conversation with me almost exactly matched his predicted description. Obviously, I decided to go with Michael's Tree and Loader. They showed up right on time - maybe even early - and started work right away. My father was there with them and was very impressed with their professionalism and the great work they performed. Their stump-grinding machine wasn't working appropriately, so they came back a few days later (it was raining or they'd have come back sooner) and ground both the stump on the young oak tree AND a persistent bush in the front yard. (That was a last-minute request, and they were more than happy to fulfill it.) The front office is also very professional. My e-mails were answered promptly, my concerns addressed quickly, and overall....this is one of the best experiences I've had with a contractor. My parents hired them soon after to perform some corrective work on their incredibly large front-yard pin oak trees. My father was so impressed with them after watching them at my house, that he felt comfortable with their abilities and price. Don't look ANYwhere else for a competent, helpful, professional tree service.

I was extremely pleased with Michael's and would use them again and recommend them. The consultation appointment went very well, he was timely and very knowledgeable. I learned that the fungus on my willow oak indicated rot and that it was best to remove it. Everything was explained very well. The job took a total of two days and they did a very good job. Their clean up was exceptional. My yard looked better after they came than before it. They hauled away everything at the end of the day and when I came home from work on the second day it looked like I had never had the tree to begin with. They left adequate amounts of grindings behind. Very nice job! I also had a coupon from Angie's List and they honored it over my expectations. Coupon was for a free stump grinding or 10% of work and they went with 10% of work. A pleasant surprise! I have recommended them to friends and I am recommending them to you.

They were very professional. They came out was very thorough in explaining what he was going to do and he got back to me very quickly. The estimate was $700 for that work. I intent to use them very soon.

I used someone else because I needed an arborist, not just someone who could just take the tree down. They showed up when they were supposed to, they were professional and knowledgeable, and they gave me a good price. I probably won't use Michael's in the future because I love the company that I found for tree service.

Excellent-- I was at work and work done as soon as snowy/rainy weather allowed. Exactly done as I requested!!

I wish everybody with whom I did business was as good as this crew. They used a Bob-Cat to pull up a corner fence post and pulled back the chain link fence. Brian then drove the bucket truck through some extremely tight places to park where he needed to be. With Brian in the bucket, using a chain saw, and two men on the ground, they started taking this tree down. Brian tied off each limb before it was cut so it could be gently lowered to the ground by his crew. He didn't hurry and he knew where each limb was going before he cut it. Once the tree was down, they started moving it out front by the street. When the yard was clean, Brian then backed the truck out the same tight spots through which he had driven forward. They put the fence back like it was. They made sure I was completely satisfied with everything they did before they left. A truck came and picked up the debris that same day. Except for a missing tree, the yard looked exactly like it did before they came.

The gentleman from the business returned our call the day after we called him and promptly stopped by to estimate what needed to be done. It was determined that large equipment couldn't enter our backyard, so he then had a tree climber stop by to give us an estimate. We agreed on the estimate and then they scheduled for about 10 days later. They promptly arrived before 8 AM and had the tree completely down before 3 PM. They removed a large part of the wood when they left that afternoon. Early the next morning the returned, cut up the remaining wood, and hauled it all out from our front yard by 5 PM.

This company is fantastic!!!! Very honest, and shows up when they say, even told me I did not need as much tree work as I thought, and gave me the most reasonable price I ever been been quoted. They are not cut-rate, just topnotch; very professional, using the right equipment with knowledgeable and competent people. I highly recommend them with no qualifications.
