Horrible. still fixing and replacing things on a monthly basis after less than one year completion. After all my problems with Cook, people and telling me horror stories they have and are going thru after contracting Cook for their work to be done!
Description of Work: Remodel house. Used inferior products. Changed cost all along the way. Porch fell in and had to be fixed by another company less that 1 year after completion. I sued and won judgment for $2,700. Cook never paid. Do not use this company. Bad news!

Put a, "No, no, no, ever on him". I have to sue Ivan, which he never bid. He never came through and he wouldn't do the repairs on the porch that he had put in. It disintegrated within less than two years. It literally fell into debris. It crumbled up and went away. There are so many people in Memphis that he has just to get some money and they he walks off, and then he'll change the name of his company. He doesn't actually have a construction license. I have known him for 35 years and he was actually brother of a friend. I never used him professionally. He completed the work maybe 4 or 5 years ago, and within two months all the paint started peeling off. Then, it was down to a point the other company and tore the porch off. That was after a judge awarded a $2,500 settlement to me, which Ivan has never paid for. We had to put ply board up, so the customer could come in and out of the store because there was no porch.
Description of Work: Ivan Cook Construction/Capital Construction renovated my little door. Which is why the other company had to rebuild the porch.

We have an old house with out of square walls and ceilings. We asked that the molding be matched to what is present in other parts of the house. It was not. The crown molding was hung as if the walls were square. One of the workers smelled like booze, and they left a mess every day work was performed (which was infrequently). I found better matched molding and had the work redone. It didn't look any better except we had gouges in our ceiling from taking down the bad molding. We hired Cristofir Bradley to fix what had been done and he did an OUTSTANDING job. Please read our review and consider him if you need this kind of work done. Cristofir was a few hundred dollars more than Ivan (Cristofir also painted the molding, fixed a screen door, and repaired a window sill- so it was really a wash on price). We would have saved a lot of time, mess, and money if we had hired Cristofir first.
Description of Work: Crown molding installation

We hired Ivan Cook to finish several jobs in our house after having another contractor do sloppy work and stop showing up. The people he brought in to do the work were all very professional and responsible, and all of the work was done well. Mr Cook was very good at keeping us apprised of the status of the work. If something needed to be delayed he always called us to let us know about the delay, the reason for it and the expected timing for getting the work done (very different from our previous experiences). He was also very easy to get in touch with when we needed to speak with him. Based on our own personal experience, and stories we've heard from other people we know in the area, finding someone who will do quality work and maintain dependable contact while the work is being done is not always an easy thing to find. We recommend Mr Cook highly for any sort of general contracting work. If he can't handle a job, he'll let you know, and suggest someone who can.
Description of Work: Bathroom remodeling/tiling, lighting installation, wiring, installation of exterior door, brickwork.
