We recently moved into a 13 year old house. I called a different heating and air company out to service my furnaces. When they came out (different company that had done prior AC work on this house), they shook their heads when they saw the furnaces. They told me all 3 humidifiers were leaking, and said prior homeowner had 3 incorrectly (and not working) installed electric air filters (installed where the Trane Perfect Flow filter should have been). They told me they'd call me back the next day to give me a quote on fixing everything (and they never did).. While the other company was here, I went through some paperwork, and saw that Hensley had been the original company that installed the furnaces. Thinking they would shed some light on the weird install of the electric air filters, I called them. They came out within 24 hours. John was the nicest guy that came to my house from Hensley. He looked at everything (was at my house almost an hour) and he said for $335 (or so) he would replace the humidifier filters (hoping that would fix the leak since they were clogged) and fix the filter situation for all the furnaces. Turns out Hensley was not the onethat put those electronic air filters in backwards. He came back the next day with 2 other people. He sealed up and removed the non working electronic filters and built a new niche for the new filters. He did a lot of work on the humidifiers and turned out they were broken beyond repair. I 100% trusted John and felt like he was extremely honest. Since he could not get the humidifiers working, the bill was reduced to $225, and they were at my house 2 hours, plus the original service call where he looked at everything (I did not pay anything on that visit). 100% will use them in the future for heating and air needs. I might add I have had a lot of contractors in the house doing work, and most send out young, somewhat inexperienced workers. John seemed very experienced, honest, and ethical.
Description of Work: Tried to fix a humidifier that was in recently purchased house and built 3 furnace slots for filters and sealed up the mess the prior homeowner left behind with the furnace

From start to finish, the experience with Hensley was a nightmare.
Description of Work: Hensley Heating and Air recommended a unit that we later learned was too large for our residence. They improperly wired the product and failed to install adequate duct work to properly heat and cool our home. After failing to respond and correct their errors, we contracted a more certified company, Precision Heating & Air, to perform at a cost of approximately $11,000 to correct Hensley Heating & Air's improper installation and misleading sale. Details of work that had to be done following Hensley's failure is best described, as follows, as stated in findings of Precision Heating & Air: The conclusion stated in a letter by Precision Heating & Air after inspection of our home was that "the only reason you added this unit was because Hensley told you it was necessary to provide an additional 1.5 tons of air to heat and cool your 300 square foot addition. The Hensley proposal was to add that air. However, there was zero additional heating or air conditioning being delivered to the kitchen/addition area from the Hensley installation and insufficient ductwork to run the new 5 ton system properly throughout the home." "Our scope of work included the following: 1. Removal of virtually all accessible ducting for the home ;2. Upsizing the accessible supply air ducting (except in the bathrooms and closets) to support the 5 tons of air; 3. Replaced the zone dampers (because the supply ducts needed to be increased to support the 5 tons of air); 4. Relocation of the furnace and evaporator coil (to allow space for the additional ducting for the 5 tons of air); 5. Built a chase in the upstairs office so we could run the additional supply air and return air ducting into the kitchen/addition (this was really the ONLY way to install new supply and/or return air ducting to the addition from the equipment by this time); 6. Added an additional supply duct from the supply plenum by the computer nook downstairs in the kitchen/addition area; 7. Increased the duct size for the two supply openings Hensley installed and ran two new supply ducts from the supply plenum in the kitchen/addition area; 8. Added return air ducting in the addition ceiling; 9. Added return air ducting in the upstairs hallway ceiling; 10.Replaced defective control board for the new furnace; 11.Replaced the supply plenum (to have room for the additional ductwork needed to run the 5 ton system);4 12.Replaced the return plenum (to have room for the additional ductwork needed to support the 5 ton system); 13.Removed the suction line drier that was left in the system with the new installation and replaced the existing liquid line drier when we moved the evaporator coil; 14.Rewired the existing zone system to function properly; and 15.Added a biometric pressure bypass damper for the zone system. In our professional opinion, the 5 ton unit was installed improperly because it was installed without consideration of how that extra capacity of air would be delivered, especially to the kitchen/addition area that was the original reason for the purchase. Because of that, you received zero benefit from the Hensley installation for your kitchen/addition area until our work was done to reinstall the equipment and add enough ductwork from the right source points to deliver the air to your home. You told us you had no comfort complaints before the kitchen/addition was added. Additionally, you have had no comfort complaints since our work was completed

Hensley Heating & AC Company did extremely well. There was a week wait because they were so busy. They did inform us of that but we were willing to wait because we wanted their service. They were good about coming out for the appointment they set. They fixed the problem quickly.
Description of Work: They fixed the air conditioner electrical problem in our circuit board.

I was very unhappy with them. The unit's not cooling our home efficiently and it was a bigger unit than was needed for the size of the home we have. I didn t think the unit was working properly. I called a month ago to complain about the problem and they still haven't even called me back. They're trying to wait for my year warranty to run out. I told them I have an infant and young child in the home so we needed it cool and they didn t seem to care at all. They really suck. The owner's daughter answered the phone when we called and she was rude. I wasn t sure of the price of the unit because it was added to the cost of the home.
Description of Work: They installed a 5 1/2 ton central air unit in my new home.
