I am not really impressed with them. They are going to back this coming Friday because this is the soonest they could come back. I can't explain how irritated with them. A part of it under the American Home shield Warranty but the issue is still is not solved and I cannot seem to get to make them go faster. The first thing that they did was to misdiagnose the problem which is what put me in this issue the first place. The air conditioner was coming on and off; it was not cooling downstairs. This was on a Monday a week ago and I am working on my second week with no air conditioning in any of the bedrooms. I don't know if they are being non-responsive because it is all being paid for by the American Home Shield Warranty. I have actually contacted the general manager to get them to do pretty much anything. They were not bad. Their prices were average and whenever they make an appointment they keep it right on time. They have not been rude and are pleasant people.
Description of Work: I used Greenway Home Services LLC for fixing an air conditioning unit as well the coil in the attic.

Sometimes their service is hit or miss. When I have an appointment it seems that I am always one of the customers that they come to late in the evening and I don't like that part. But overall the work is good and the customer service is nice. We will continue to use them in the future.

Generally the techs with Greenway go the extra distance for us. We've had a refrigerator finally fixed by them after dealing with several repair companies sent by the home warranty company. This took a year and our request for Greenway service to get the problem resolved. Another tech called to check on if the home warranty company would cover a repair. The repair was covered which saved us over $100 dollars.
Description of Work: During annual service of A/C the tech noticed that upstairs A/C was low on freon. He tested to find leak and to see how large it was. After testing he said it was a slight leak. He offered to check on the use of a leak sealant for us. We finally chose to try to leak sealant rather than replacing the unit. After almost two months things are still running well.

I love them. They actually show up when you call them. If they say nine, they are there. They just came two weeks ago to service my air conditioner for the summer. The service was free as I am a VIP customer. It includes the furnace and air conditioning servicing.

I called Greenway because I had used them for appliance repair in my 16 year old house. Shawn Patton gave me a quote and honored their online water heater special discount of $300 of which he was not aware. He followed up a few days later and I said my husband agreed. We felt the old tanks could rust out at any time causing a two story flood. Our new dishwasher supply line had already broke and flooded the house a few months ago. This was installed by another company. My mother's 12 year old water tank had rusted out and flooded her unfinished basement in January. It was time to replace our ancient tanks. Shawn ordered the unit, I set up an appointment with Maria and the team arrived to install the system just two days later. I have to wait at least two weeks for a city inspector but the entire install was done in just a few hours. Greenway also pulled a permit for the work. This was a more complicated install than replacing just one water heater as they had to run water lines from the other attic and ensure the venting was correct in the attic where the unit was placed. I had turned the a/c on upstairs as it is much hotter in the attic despite the high ceilings. Allen was very professional, personable, explained everything in detail and cleaned up the work areas. Blake was quiet but eventually smiled. A supervisor, plumber and other staff also dropped in several times. I also received a follow up customer service call the next morning wanting to know if I was happy and to let them know if I needed anything. I am ready for tours now as my landscaper expressed interest while he was here during the install but had never seen a tankless system. I will submit a claim for the 2013 federal energy tax credit of 10 per cent up to $500. I have not researched any city, state or utility credits.
Description of Work: A team installed a Rinnai 94 i/e tankless water heater and told me that they would sent a plumber out from their company to run water lines from the other attic. I was replacing two 16 year old 50 gallon gas tank water heaters with one system. They were very professional, put down canvas drop cloths in stairs and upstairs floor and built a "Hollywood" wall to mount the water heater. Their sales representative, Shawn Patton, requested that I have an electrician install an 110 outlet above where the system was going before they arrived.

Greenway started badly as they never scheduled our appointment. I called to find out why there was delay and they said and quot;Oh, I see you on our list, we don't even have you scheduled though. It'll be next week (5 days from the call) before we can see you. Due to their delay, other vendors were booked so everyone was now booking for the following monday. We stayed with them since we assumed they were legitimate (big company). BAD DECISION on our part. The technicain was 90 minutes late AFTER calling to say what time he'd be there (he was leaving another apointment). We already had a 5 hour wait window....a bit excessive isnt it (noon-5pm). They sent a technician named Tony (no last names provided here) who came in and immediately said and quot;You have no freon. ZERO.and quot; and looked at me as if I had gone outside to the unit and intentionally let out all the coolant. I said and quot;Yes sir, THAT is WHY we called you to see WHAT was wrong....and quot;. He fumbled around even though we told him to look at the compressor first as that's where the noises came from and the other main components seemed to still work. 30 minutes later he said and quot;AHA! I see your problem. YOur compressor is brokenand quot;. Yes, that's why we asked him to look at it.... He took another 45 minutes to write up a ticket. He said and quot;The wires may be bad (they were burnt to a crisp, visibly by the way!, in plain sight) but someone else will check it out. You've got zero freon and leaks everywhere. You need a new unit (New central A/C) but we can fix just the compressor and parts with your warranty). Yes, we paid for the warranty so let's use it please. They tried again to sell us an overpriced new unit (I have 3 quotes for the same equipment which are cheaper than their prices AND those quotes included a new furnace. Greenway was selling overpriced A/C units only) I declined and they said they'd order teh new compressor. When the compressor came in, they put us to the back of the list and said it would be 3 more days before they could install it. WHY would we NOT be at the front of the list? We're without air for 7 days already at that time and are waiting on a part they knew we needed but failed to stock becaues they want to sell/upgrade units. They claimed they'd have to charge a few hundred dollars in and quot;uncovered proceduresand quot; (disposal $100 + recapture freon $130). With zero freon, there is NOTHING to reclaim. Disposal is all profit for them as they turn around and sell the scrap so they get your $100 PLUS they get the profit from the scrap. They technician (and quot;Adamand quot;) said he keeps it all his disposals and sells it and bought himself a new shotgun.... (Mark this as things I didn't need to know). When I asked about the recapture fee and not charging if there's no freon, the Dispatch team said they'd look into it and call me back but I shouldn't be charged. They never called back. When I asked why I was sent to the back of hte service list they refused to answer, twice and then said and quot;Okay, have a nice day we will see you next week...and quot;. I promise I was polite but I DID want an answer. They failed to show up on the 3rd day. It rained for an hour and was dry after that. They called during the rain to say and quot;It's raining so we will reschedule for next week. The tech (Adam) called right back and asked me to stay at the residence as he'd complete the job if the rain had stopped. It was dry for the next 3.5 hours. He never showed. I called his phone, he didn't return the voicemail or text messages. At 5 pm I knew for sure they had just stood me up... He showed on Monday at 10:30 am (mid-morning appointment even though I was an 8-noon (STILL not a priority appoitment I guess). When I asked about Friday and the no-show he said and quot;Yeah, that was me who didn't showand quot;. I asked why and he said, and quot;It was Friday and had rained and the office said I could do it Mondayand quot;. THis is AFTER he had asked me specifically to stay so he could complete the job. He offerred NO apology whatsoever. Extremely unprofessional. he didn't check for leaks but told me and quot;There's nothing wrong. Tony just didn't know what he was doing. The compressor is fine. You have pleny of freon and no leaks that I can see (again, shouldn't he TEST???). Adam seemed knowledgeable. He fixed the issue in about 10 mintues (replaced a single wire, 50 cent part) that he said and quot;Tony should have fixed this last mondayand quot; (a WEEK ago!!). You shouldn't have had to wait 12 days. Normally it takes us 3 days max. Again, NO apology, just his idea of an excuse. They didn't charge me anything more since they didn't replace the compressor. They probably SHOULD have replaced it since it's 21 years old and will die sometime soon AND for all the hassle I've had with them. In the end, it cost me 3 days of vacation, 12-13 days of no A/C in a warm period of April, an afternoon of waiting for no-one, a $60+ co-pay for AHS, and a LOT of headache to get this done. GREENWAY is HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE when it comes to customer service. I now know they are blatantly incompetent as well. SAD really..... Thank GOODNESS we have a warranty or who knows what they would have charged us....
Description of Work: Central A/C (Air Conditioning) went out. Greenway was the provider of choice with our home warranty (American Home Shield). It was a HORRIBLE experience dealing with Greenway. The tech came to fix the issue but chose not to, he wrote it up as the compressor had died, that we had multiple freon leaks, and there was Zero freon left. All of this was untrue according tot he Greenway tech that came to do the 'big work' of replacing a compressor. The compressor was fine, the unit was fully charged with freon, and there were No leaks. In the end, it took them 13 days to replace a single 50 cent wire that the first technician could have fixed. They were simply out to make as much money as possible. As soon as I declined to buy a NEW central A/C unit from them, the service went from bad to awful....

I have changed my service provider.
Description of Work: Bought home in 2011 and Greenway was listed as the service company for our 4 heating & air units. Multiple issues with the units and eventually one unit died, of course home warranty only paid a few hundred dollars so We had to pay for a new 4t unit. Due to shoddy work and seemingly unethical relationship with the home warranty company, we decided not to renew with either company. Now we've got a different service company and they have discovered fire safety concerns with the wiring on one of the heating units from a job they performed last year and the condenser in the new unit did not fit but they forced it in and tapped the cover shut.

I spent nothing today for this service, although I have included 1/2 the cost of my annual maintenance contract here so this won't be misleading. I am a VIP member with Greenway Services, for which I pay an annual fee of $175. You can check out their website for ALL the benefits of this membership, one of which was our recent Heating System Tune-up. The technician called about 20 minutes before he arrived, to let us know he was on his way, and arrived well within the expected appointment window we were given. He was extremely professional and courteous, did a thorough check on both our heating systems and our ductwork, and answered our questions about concerns we had with temperature control in various rooms in the house. We have used Greenway for the past two years for heating and a/c services and tuneups, and have found them to be head and shoulders above others in professionalism, timeliness and price.

I have used them twice in the 2 years that I have owned my home. Once was via the home warranty for a HVAC problem which was fixed the morning after we called our insurance company and most recently for a problem with our shower plumbing. The technician figured out the problem in under 2 minutes and since it was as easy as turning a screw a certain way he charged NOTHING for the visit

AC unit went out - The unit had been maintained by Greenway for the past 3 years under a maintenance agreement and was also covered by a home warranty. When the unit failed, Greenway reported to the home warranty company that the unit did not appear damaged through normal wear and tear and they would not have serviced it in the condition it was in. They were also not responsive to my calls for status (I was without AC for two weeks during June in TN). The home warranty company then declined my claim resulting in me paying $2700 out of pocket for a new unit. While the home warranty shares in the blame (I have since canceled that contract) I also blame Greenway for their inaccurate description of the condition of the unit and their non responsiveness during the outage. I will not renew my maintenance agreement with them and will not be using them for any more work at my home.

I have a very old house (in midtown) and the tub is quirky, to put it nicely (there is no overflow valve, which plumbers often need). At any rate, the plumber got it done. He did a great job replacing the faucet. He was on time, very respectful, and helpful. the company was super responsive with scheduling (they got me in the next day). The plumber cleaned up after himself. I will definitely use them again. The company also donates to a lot of local charities which I appreciate (like the local children's hospital and the humane society).

I purchased a house last year and a homeowner warranty from American Home Shield was part of the deal. I had two previous calls and Greenway performed fine. However, the third call Greenway installed a new AC system. The compressor was out on the old unit and the warranty company would only pay to replace the compressor. I asked the Greenway tech if I could get credit for the compressor and apply toward a new unit and I would pay the difference. The response was yes. However, there is no evidence that I ever received credit for the compressor. When they installed the new unit the two technicians immediately took off an never came in the house to check to see if the new unit was working properly. 3 weeks later the unit no longer produced cool air. I entered an online service request with AHS which is the same process I had followed previously and greenway had responded with a call within 12 hours on all occasions. however, this time I head nothing from Greenway. I then called Greenway myself and the person stated that the online system does not work properly and I should never use the AHS online request system and it was my fault that I did not call Greenway direct. The Greenway person was rude and obnoxious and severly lacking in customer service skills. I will never use Greenway again unless I am forced because of the warranty requirements.

The tech came out and said he needed a part. They haven't been here for two days. I called to complain about this and they were extremely unprofessional with me. I called the home insurance company, American Home Shield, and they were equally as uninterested in my problem. They have a don't give a d*** attitude. The contact I had with both of the companies was pitiful. The technician was great but the office personal I had to speak with were absolutely awful.

Do not fall for Greenway's maintenance agreement/and quot;priority customerand quot; contract. I have been paying for this contract for 3 years ($280 this year) that is supposed to entitle me to and quot;priority serviceand quot;. MY A/C broke on Saturday. The first appt. they offered me was Tuesday (4 days away). After pitching a fit they offered me a Monday appt (3 days away). I kept telling them I had paid for priority servicve and was rudely told that their and quot;manger told them not to schedule anyone sooner than Mondayand quot;. I asked for the manager and was told heand quot;had left for the dayand quot; - this was before noon. With the temperatures exceeding 100 I could not possibly stay in my house for 3 days with no A/C so I had to call another HVAC company and pay for repair rather than using Greenway and collecting on American Home Shield. Terrible customer service, During all this I happened to see a commercial with Mr. Greenway advertising his HVAC services and same day service . Maybe that's for the people who have not already paid them $280. What a joke. .

Unfortunately with the extreme heat we are booking 3-4 days out for customers with multiple units that are VIP customers. On Saturday we were booking Thursday and Friday for non VIP customers. Priority service is moving our VIP customers to the front of the line. We have been working very hard to take care of those customers that only have 1 system in the home. I am truly sorry that you had a poor customer experience with our customer service department however, and I will address this with both of their managers. We would be happy to extend the Hemphill's service agreement for an additional year.

We have American Home Shield and with them you can use about anybody. We have used many different companies but we found that we can always depend on Greenway. They stand behind what they do. If it doesn't work they are out the next day to fix it.

They came promptly and explained what they were doing all the way through. They were very personable. They were training a new person and he introduced him and let us know what he was doing. He did an excellent job. He had to order a part for the kitchen but he let us know that and how long it might be before it came in. He also unstopped a drain in the bathroom, he did all of this excellently and under an hour. Then he came back and showed us those pieces to let us know what was going on and how it worked. The whole experience was excellent. It took the part about a week and a half to get in. He said he'd be here in 20 minutes and he was right here in 20 minutes. I would definitely use them again, I request them when I put my request on line.

The day after closing, the AC started blowing hot air. Fortunately, I had a home owners warranty. I really didn't hold out much hope that they would be helpful. However, I was surprised. I logged my case on the home warranty website and received a call back from Greenway the same day. The dispatcher offered to have someone come out the very next day, but I was not able to arrange my schedule to accommodate that time. So, I was given an appointment between 8am and noon on Saturday. The dispatcher said that the technician would call just before his arrival. Saturday about 10am, I received a call from the technician. He arrived shortly thereafter, was able to diagnose the problem without delay, fixed the problem, and was finished in about 30 minutes. It was a great experience.

The response time from the office staff was far less than acceptable. I did not receive call backs regarding the part on order or the return service date to replace the part from either the parts department which I was routed to or the manager I was told to speak to when I called back two hours following my first call. I have since sent an email to the company outlining the poor office staff service and have received no response from that either. Our unit is still under warranty, so therefore, we will continue to use Greenway, but I have only spoken to a couple of people in their office who seem to care to have my business, so after the warranties are up, we may choose another company. What ever happened to making return customer calls.....has common courtesy gone out the window?

I have very mixed reviews for this company. I used them for several years for both repairs and regular maintenance on my AC and heating units. But, I will not use them again. Positive: they installed a new AC unit for me (replaced the coil and condenser). The technician was very good, knowledgable, let me know of a cost-savings promo that they had going, and the work was completed quickly. I've had no issues with the parts that they installed. Negative: not all their technicians are created equally. Christmas 2010, I came home from a week away and my house was freezing. But, the air was still flowing out the vents, it was just cold. The technician that came out said that a switch was bad so that the AC and the heat were both running. He said that he fixed the problem, but when he left, it was still blowing full force. I had to call again, the next technician seemed to have fixed the problem...until summertime when I started the AC for the first time. It again would not stop blowing. The same technician as the first time came back--he seemed to think that I had caused the problem by unplugging the unit (had to to get in a new filter). Uh, really? He did whatever, proclaimed it fixed, charged me, and left. It kept going. I called again, they sent the same technician, he proclaimed it a different problem, tried to charge me again. I refused to pay and called the company. They finally sent a new, obviously more experiences and qualified technician, who said it was the thermostat and repaired it. I've not had a problem since.
