It was bad. They came in and install the water heater and I had somebody here to meet them and without consulting me, they changed out my stainless pipes for copper pipes and charged me for extra $200 because they don't believe in flex pipes, and then they sod the copper pipe to the top of the hot water tank, which means if ever I had to replace the hot water tank, the pipe had to be cut and replace it again. The price was high. I had the supervisor come back out because there's a part that needed to be installed and they didn't replace it and they told me they'd come out and redo the pipes again and cost me an extra $250. Basically, they didn't install the manufacturer's recommendation. They gave me a range of 5 hours. They're awful. I actually hired but that I didn't go through all the reviews and I don't think they have great reviews on Angie's List.

Terrible, shoddy work. They will replace their shoddy work for and quot;free,and quot; but they do NOT cover all the collateral damage that does along with the repeated repairs (in my case, tearing the siding, backing, and insulation off my house three times). So, ultimately, their and quot;guaranteedand quot; work turns out to be extremely costly.
Description of Work: Greenway repaired a pipe that froze and burst in my wall. They had to tear up my siding to make the repair, which I understood they were not responsible for. Problem is, their repair failed within two weeks. So after replacing the Hardiplank siding they tore up the first time, they had to tear it down again. Because I did not trust their repairs, I decided to pay them to replace ALL of the piping in the wall with PEX. I then replaced the siding for a second time. A few weeks later, the same pipes began to leak. The siding will have to be torn down for a third time.

We had a drain back up behind our washer! This was a tough one to find due to the way the drainage system was built! This guy was determined and after looking through several outlets both inside and out he cleared the issue! On top of that it was pouring rain outside where he had to check the trap! Outstanding effort! A few days later our dishwasher would not turn on! When the tech came to the house it was determined the the previous tech unplugged the dishwasher for some of his equipment! Honest mistake! I made the service call and technically owed the $75.00! I called Greenway expecting to have to pay, but to their credit they waived the fee! Please thank them for true customer service!

I have AHS coverage, and Greenway recieved their sub-contract, but their disallowing of critical items, left me responsible for $900 of additional charges, in addition to the $75 service charge.Not too pleased with this.

I looked up the homeowner's contract with American Home Shield Insurance. Unfortunately, you are correct. Your insurance company does not cover everything on the installation of your evaporator. This has nothing to do with Greenway Home Services.

I have used Greenway Home Services for a few years now. I am a VIP customer and while I can't say that the experience has ALWAYS been perfect they have always taken care of me and made up for it when things are not right. I wanted to get a quote for adding a humidifier to my system, so I called them to discuss this and get an idea of what my options are. I spoke with someone at their call center and informed them of what I was looking for, that individual told me that Shawn would call me to discuss this shortly. Approximately 3 hours later, I get a call from Shawn and he informs me that he's 5 minutes from my house, I just happened to be home but I was not expecting them, since I was expecting an informational call to discuss this in a leisurely manner for the purposes of gathering information. Once he arrived with another individual in tow, he asked me a few questions and I showed him where I was having an issue with floors separating and joints in the walls popping. He asked me to see the furnaces so I took them both upstairs. Once they arrived upstairs, they launched into a 10 minute HVAC system bashing, that while I appreciate their opinion as professionals, did not make me feel comfortable. It seemed to me like they were trying to pressure me and convince me that I needed to replace both units when what I wanted to discuss with them was the installation of a humidifier. Shawn called in and got some prices and informed me that in order to install the Aprilaire 700 it was going to run about $1300 for one unit. The second option was to use the Honeywell TrueSteam (not sure what model) but that was going to cost approximately $1800 for one unit. Now, I have done some research and the AprilAire 700 costs about $300 for the whole unit with the control module included and the Honeywell might run about $500 maybe $600. So what I want to know is where did the $1300 and $1800 price come from? How could it cost $1000 to install a humidifier? In any event, at this point I was uncomfortable with this conversation so I cut it short. I was not given anything in writing and was glad to see them go. I just renewed my VIP contract with them and I am seriously considering calling them and cancelling that contract. This was a terrible customer service experience in my opinion and I am NOT happy.

I have already authorized Melissa to extend your VIP contract by 6 months and again, I do apologize for our team. I am not sure where the mis-communication pricing came from. So to clarify, the Steam Humidifier is $1250 for the first and $1125 for the second (as you have two systems). Shawn said he was going to email you a firm price today but this will substitute for it.

This company was contracted through my home warranty company First American, to fix my leaking dishwasher and my microwave. The tech came out within his 4 hour window and decided he needed parts for both items. During this time my dishwasher was leaking continuously. He decided that putting a cookie sheet underneath would do the trick while waiting on the part to be shipped. I have to continuously dump water out of the cookie sheet to preserve my floors. This task becomes impose le at night during bedtime. When the part finally arrived and the tech put it in and left. A week later, the dishwasher not only still leaks, but now it is noisy. I contacted the company and now I have to wait another 5 days for another tech to even look at the machine. They accept no responsibility for the tech's incompetence. The microwave is still broken as well, but at least it isn't ruining my hardwood floors.

I wanted to wait until the service was completed (my dishwasher has not been fixed yet) to review Greenway Home Services but I decided to go ahead and write this review out of frustration. We moved into a new house recently and noticed the dishwasher was not running properly. In addition, water was pooling in the bottom of our refrigerator beneath the crisper tray(s). I called our home warranty company who sent out a service provider. Although very nice, he told me there was nothing wrong with the dishwasher and said he resolved the issue with the refrigerator. Neither of these were the case. I called the home warranty company again who sent a different service provider out this time, Greenway Home Services. They give you a window instead of an appointment time. Mine was 12-5, which is basically like saying we'll be there in the morning (8-12) or afternoon (12-5). I was told I would receive a call 30 minutes prior. I received a call 15 minutes prior (at 4:00), which did give me just enough time to get home from work. I was pleased that the tech agreed that my dishwasher wasn't working properly and said he would order the part needed. He said it was a very common part and would take 3-5 days. He also asked if he could fix the issue with my refrigerator when he came back with the part needed for the dishwasher because he had to pick up his kids at 6. Not my problem, especially since I've been living with this issue for several weeks already, but I agreed since it could have been that he was over-booked by the company. Two days later, I called to find out when the dishwasher part would arrive. I was told that and quot;Dougand quot; was the parts guy and could tell me, so I left a voice mail for Doug, who was out to lunch. He did not call me back. I called him 3 hours later and he confirmed that the part had been ordered and would arrive on Monday. Since I am without a working dishwasher and have been for over a week at this point, I asked if, knowing that the part was arriving on Monday, we could go ahead and schedule the next service call. He said no. I tried to explain that we are without a working dishwasher and getting this resolved is important to me, but he wasn't the slightest bit empathetic. He said their policy is to wait until the part arrives and then schedule, but he could not confirm what the time frame would be between the part arriving and the scheduled service visit. He clearly just wanted me off the phone. Long story short, today, after 2 service visits and while waiting for the 3rd (with no idea when that might possibly be), I still do not have a working dishwasher (the refrigerator issue is resolved). The dishwasher part did indeed come in, the tech came out to my home again, but the part (pump) did not fit my dishwasher. I can only assume the parts guy got it wrong. Currently I am waiting for the new pump to be delivered. I was told on Friday that it would arrive Monday at the earliest, Tuesday at the latest. I called Monday and was told by Doug that there was no tracking number on the part yet, but it should arrive Tuesday at the earliest or Wednesday. I asked my husband to call today (Tuesday), and he was told that the part was on back order, which means it hasn't even shipped yet! Each point of contact has been initiated on our end. The company hasn't called me once, even when I've left messages, with the exception being the tech calling me 15-30 minutes prior to arriving for a service visit. It is hard to believe I would say this, but spending $800 on a new dishwasher would have been less stressful. I will edit this review if, upon completion, I am happy with the outcome. My suggestions: - Shorten the 5 hour window. I've had to be and quot;on calland quot; at work each time a service appointment has been scheduled, and each time have been given a 5 hour window. - If the part is common, why not have it on hand instead of placing a 3-5 day order. Or, if there are too many parts to just and quot;have on handand quot;, find a quicker delivery service. My mechanic goes and picks up a part same day. I even wonder if I could have located and ordered the part online and had it delivered already. - Allow the second appointment to be scheduled to coincide with the delivery of the part. - Empathy training. My dishwasher being broken may not impact you personally, but it does impact me on a daily basis. We are hand washing dishes and have been for weeks.

We contacted our AHS insurance co. and advised of drainage problems. Greenway came out the next day, late afternoon on a Friday, after we explained our situation. We paid our deductible, but they advised that the blockage was between the house and the street and therefore wasn't covered. The pipe had broken at the connection to the city line and they advised that they could fix it. After the repair, it didn't drain so they said a tech would have to come out with a camera. After checking the line with the camera they said the pipes were clogged with tree roots and would need to be excavated. We decided to authorize replacement of clay pipes with pvc. A tractor was delivered and the digging began. The trench was very deep and the techs worked very hard to remedy the problem. They returned on Saturday and finished the job very late that afternoon. Alas, we had water and plumbing again! It was explained that the soil would need to remain piled up over the trench so that it wouldn't sink when it rained. OK. The check for $3,800.00 was written and they left. We were very involved with a remodeling project in the interior of our home, dealing with tradesmen and making decisions, etc., so we didn't really take a good look at the condition of the front yard...it was a mess. We had several people remark about the way it looked. I called Greenway and expressed my concern and was told that someone would come out to check on the situation. That was Friday TWO WEEKS ago. No one showed up even all the next week. I called back - still no response. We continued to call this week and promises were made. It was not until my husband really and quot;rattled their cageand quot; that a man showed up at our front door. He was apologetic and said he would have a crew out by Friday to clean up the and quot;messand quot;. Well, it's almost midnight Friday night, and unless they plan to make a very late house call, they missed the promised appointment once again...no phone call or any communication. Greenway also made a service call at our son's home that resulted in a leak that damaged the ceiling on the first floor of his home. He has also had no response to his calls or vows to fix the damage. We have usually been pleased with the technicians and the results of their service calls, but we're very disappointed in the lack of attention to the present situation. All of the other calls have been American Home Shield insurance service, with relatively low deductible payments, but this almost four thousand dollar transaction has not been pleasant. Stay tuned. It is now the following Tuesday and we called Greenway yesterday ( Monday) about the no show on Friday. Someone showed up about 4:30, didn't let us know they were on site, pulled a few roots out of the piled up trench and disappeared....from arrival to departure, less than ten minutes. My husband picked up cigarette butts, plastic pvc pipe, clay pipe, tree roots and even saw blades from the area....and we still have a very unsightly front lawn. What if a child trick-or-treating had found a saw blade? The lack of response and absence of concern by Greenway is more than disappointing. No way to treat customers!

Good and fast response (3 hours after call). Part was not on truck, so the tech went and got the part and as it was near dinnertime and not too cold, I told him it was alright to come the next morning for the repair, At 9 the next day, we had the heater repaired.

Especially in the spring, they spend a lot of time cleaning the outside a/c unit. If it needs Freon they supply it (it never does need it). They spend less time in the fall because the heating unit is not outside and doesn't require as much cleaning.
Description of Work: I have a maintenance contract w/ Greenway. They come out to the house in the spring to clean and do any maintenance to my a/c (outside and inside) that is required. They come back in the fall to clean and service my heater.

He stated that unit was extremely dirty and had not been service in several years. I told it was not true, but he insisted. I showed him the service history and he said the company obviously did a poor job.

We were given a quote of $1086.00 that was not itemized, so we were not sure what the price of labor or the heater was; however, the quote did list $100 for haul off and $115 to pull a permit. When I questioned these amounts as excessive this morning and stated that I had already arranged for the heater to be picked up for $25 and would not pay the $100 they asked, I was told that they would waive that, but that even though the permit only costs $19 to obtain, they were not able to waive or discount that amount even though I pointed out that it was 6 times the amount they paid for it. Needless to say, I cancelled the whole transaction. I will say that we have used this company in the past and been pleased; however, this has definitely left me bitter, so except for annual maintenance on our hvac system that they installed, I most likely will not use them again. Update on September 12, 2013 Greenway has restored my faith in them as a company as well as in providers who listen to their customers. Many thanks to Melissa for helping us resolve this situation and to Mike and all of Greenway for the service we received today. The technicians who removed the old water heater had to move it full of water through the hallway and down two steps to the outside since it would not drain through the garden hose to the outside. They were nothing less than professional and courteous, and did their best to keep the carpet as clean and dry as possible. As I said in my earlier review, we have used Greenway many times previously and after today, will continue to call on them when needed. My heartfelt thanks again to all for being able to take a shower in my own bathroom finally!

This is actually a mistake on the side of the technician. All of our water heaters use a national flat rate guide. It is not itemized. The itemization that your technician was referring to was for application with American Home Shield (a home warranty company) where we have to break out for them labor, water heater cost, permit, disposal, venting, safety pan, tax etc. You have been a good customer for a long time and I hope you give us another opportunity.

After several emails back and forth, Greenway told me to and quot;take them to courtand quot; and and quot; they will do whatever is necessaryand quot;. I am a reasonable person and was trying to allow them to do the right thing. I have also been very patient with them, but I had no choice but to submit a review about their work and service, and customer service.
Description of Work: Greenway had come out to my house to repair a blower motor. The repair caused significant amount of water to run under my wood floor and caused it to buckle. TRACY had Greenway customer service gave me the run around for several weeks and at first told me to contact AHS about secondary damage. AHS responded that they already spoke with Greenway about it and they were informed that Greenway was responsible and needed to repair it. Greenway had told me "not to contact them any more about the issue." We had even paid and additional $90.00 to Greenway to clean out the unit, which they now claim we never did. They refused to listen to any of the facts or evidence. Their tech told me at my home, that it was negligence, and is now changing his story to "i dont know".

Once again, we will try to tell [member name removed] that we are not responsible for any damages at his property. Someone sprayed either paint, drywall. or some other material inside of his house. This material caused his system to freeze over. This the cause of all of his troubles. The warranty company has denied his claim. After several phone calls and emails, [member name removed] is very unreasonable. We still believe that we were not at fault and we consider this matter closed.

I had a previous company come out for some work. The guy couldn't get it set right to complete the repair. Greenway Home Services saved me from having to buy a whole new unit. It turned out that it was only a Freon balancing issue and they fixed it right away.

Greenway was exceptional. First, they came to my house and evaluated my problem and made a recommendation. Shortly, on the same day, they presented my options for a new air conditioning and heating unit. My interior heating and air conditioning unit were original to the house built in 1975. I agreed on a purchase and Greenway scheduled installation within 48 hours. Additionally, they called in advance of the appointment to confirm the time. Greenway sent two technicians to install the new unit and had completed the same day. The technicians were very professional, explained all the details of what they were doing and upon completion showed me in detail how to properly operate my new system. Additionally, I was issued a 10 year warranty and the workers removed my old units and cleaned up the work areas completely. Greenway followed up the next day with a phone call to make sure everything was completed and was done to my approval. Lastly, I received another follow-up in the mail to make sure I was completely satisfied with Greenway's service and the product installed. When I was sold my new Trane system, I was told my utility bills would drop dramatically and the system would almost pay for itself. I was a little leary of this, but I have to say three months later that it was all true. My MLGW bills have decreased an average of 30% and I have had a wonderfully cool home all Summer long. In the future, I won't use anyone else but Greenway for my AC/Heating needs, as well as any plumbing and appliance problems I may have.

Horrible. I was offered no help with my problem and was told this could cost me up to $1,000.00 and he couldn't tell me exactly what all needed to be done. To break it down he got $79.95 for driving to my house and then immediately wanted $125.00 to look at my airconditioner unit, then $$$$$$. I paid him the $79.95 for showing up still don't know exactly what all needs to be done to my airconditioner or what the cost would be.
Description of Work: Charged me $79.95 for just showing up and then wanted an additional $125.00 for just checking for a leak in my airconditioner. I have 2 units so i asked if he would walk up stairs and just check to see what he thought of the airflow on the second floor. He said, he would go upstairs for an additional $59.00. Now at this point he has done nothing for the $79.95 and wouldn't do anything unless i started paying piece meal for everything he touched.

Every experience has been a good one! They are always on time, each one of the repair personal has been friendly, knowledgeable and they each explained exactly what was wrong and what repairs were needed.... From the initial phone call to them to the finished work we could not have been more pleased with their service.
Description of Work: This trip repaired our garbage disposal but we have used the company numerous times including air conditioner repair and work on our microwave.

They are wonderful. They are very honest and very polite. They try hard to fix something instead of throwing up their hands and saying it is too old. I trust them to give me the correct answer. There was a delightful story about Greenway last year where they stayed outside trying to get a cat that was trapped in a pipe. They are very kind and very nice.
