They send someone out that week - in our most recent case we had to reschedule for an unforeseen issue and they rescheduled to accommodate us without complaints. They provide good service and checked out our equipment thoroughly, including putting in filters.

Therefore, the company has the incentive to claim that any problem is due to mis-installation. In previous calls typicaly two service calls were required to correct minor problems.

+ -1 moreRefrigerator had stopped working (only six years old!). Purchased at a home improvement store, but reluctant to use them because they have often wanted to just sell more parts. Used Greenway for other services, so called them. Repair people are always polite and helpful. Never stay longer than necessary; tell you if someone else needs to fix it; fix what needs to be fixed, and do not sell other items.
Description of Work: Refrigerator was not working. After inspection, repairperson saw the compressor was not working. He examined the compressor, then went to the truck and brought in a part --called a relay --and replaced that. Refrigerator began working again immediately. Repairperson advised me to watch it for a week; make sure all was ok, before loading up on food. If it failed within the week, then I would need a 'heavy-duty' relay to fix it. Been two weeks, and all is well.

+ -1 moreI called Greenway about 10:30am and told them my compressor was making strange noises but I could not see that anything had fallen into the unit. They said someone would be out between noon and 5pm. This surprised me because we have had temps in the high 90s for many days. About 1:30pm, the motor stopped, so I called them to see if I should turn off the unit, but I was disconnected before completion of the call. I turned off the unit. Greenway called about 4:45 to say a tech was on his way. He arrived about 5:15. Luckily the sun was low enough to provide a modicum of shade near the compressor. The heat index was 105. Despite the heat and that he had been working since 7 am, Isiah remained cool, calm during the approx 2 hours he spent working on the compressor. (Indeed, the breeze outside made it seem cool compared to the 90 degree inside of the house.) Temps predicted to remain near 100 for the next week. I am happy to have a cool house after only a few hours of no AC.
Description of Work: Isiah oiled the compressor motor bearing to stop the noise. I asked him to check the freon level which he had already planned to do. We discussed price of new motor. He suggested I wait until the motor died to replace it, if I could live with the noise which had not abated. He added two lbs of freon. Before he left, the motor quit. He replaced the motor. All this took about 2 hours.

+ -1 moreI called them early in the morning and they came out same day (which impressed me). The techs were very knowledgeable and professional. Only took about an hour to complete. Work looks good and would recommend this company to all and plan on using again.

+ -1 moreThere was one person who came out to do the work. He did show up on time and was professional. The service went very smoothly and he also cleaned up after himself. He did explain the system to me and said everything was working properly. It just needed to have more Freon to stay cool.
Description of Work: I had them come out and do regular maintenance on the air conditioner in my 4200 square foot house. The maintenance included Freon installation and cleaning.

+ -1 moreMy furnace motor went out during a COLD spell. Unfortunately this happened on a Friday night. The repairman showed up Saturday afternoon, after I called Saturday morning. The furnace motor was burnt as I expected and since it was already Saturday afternoon, he could not get a replacement until Monday. However, Monday was a Federal Holiday, and the motor did not arrive until Tuesday afternoon with installation on Wednesday. The motor was covered under warranty. Since it was so cold, I was naturally upset that it took so long, after having been told initially on Saturday that we could expect a motor on Monday. I was not told by anyone that I could pay additional to insure overnight shipping. Not very good communication from company about the delay, (don't forget, I was freezing) but they did apologize for the poor communication and did a very good follow-up inquiry.
Description of Work: Replaced burned out furnace motor and sealed furnace chimney on roof.

+ -1 moreNot so good, one day our fan motor dies, but up until then, the fan was very quiet with no noticeable vibration. After the greenway technician moves the squirrel cage from one motor to the new one, now suddenly the unit is vibrating very badly. Nobody from Greenway offered any explanation or took any responsibility for the damage to and/or mishandling of the squirrel cage, so we were forced to pay the additional $255 for a repair that we didn't need until we had other service work done. I felt kinda cheated, and regret calling them, I should have just done the work myself, but was too lazy to climb around in the attic myself.
Description of Work: The recirculation fan on my Trane XL90 unit went out. Service man came same day on a weekend and after a few hours had the fan motor replaced. However, after it was complete, we noticed a horrible vibration coming from the fan that was just worked on. After further checkout by the Greenway technician, he said the problem was that the recirculation fan squirrel cage was warped which was causing the vibration. The squirrel cage is not a part that they usually break.. er, uh, replace for customers. We kept the warped and vibrating fan through the cold weekend but had them back out to replace the squirrel cage within a few days. The original motor repair cost $375, and the followup squirrel cage replacement was another $255.

They ran into no problems with the installation. They made sure everything was working properly. They answered all of our questions very professionally. We have not had any problems with the new system.
Description of Work: Greenway Home Services installed a new 5 ton 60000 BTU evaporator coil to our existing central air conditioning system with an electric heat pump.

+ -1 moreThe serviceman was very nice. I did have to take time off from work for both the initial inspection of the furnace and then the next week for the installation. The cost listed of $600 was our cost because our home owners insurance policy covered the rest of it.
Description of Work: Greenway Home Services removed our old furnace and replaced it with a new one to heat our 1,600 square foot home. They were able to use our existing duct work.

The prices are always reasonable as well, as the workers are friendly. I would recommend this company to anyone. I paid a $35 deductible for the work through my home insurance. If I had to estimate the approximate cost, it would be about 3500.
Description of Work: I have a 2131 square foot condo that needed to have a new furnace installed by this company. The old furnace had a broken fire box and needed to be replaced. There are two units in my home, but only the unit upstairs in the attic was removed and replaced.

They called a head of time to let us know they were on their way. We had only a couple of other price quotes. We felt their price for the job was very reasonable. They checked for any gas leaks. They made sure it was working properly before they left.

They disposed of my old unit, which was nice and they installed the new one with flying colors. I have no problems or complaints. When the plumber came back it took some work to get the shower valve reassembled, but he got it tested and working in the end.

+ -1 moreJeff, the lead man on the job, was excellent. Extremely professional, knowledgeable and polite. He provided a crew of between 2-4 men who were punctual, courteous, respectful of me working in my home office by keeping the noise level low, and above all, knowledgeable of the products they were installing. While the cost may seem high to some, we opted for a product that was extremely energy efficient and also had a humidifier as well as some other options for allergen control. I would highly recommend Greenway for your HVAC needs.

They cleaned up after themselves very well and I also got a big discount because they were hired through my service contract.

+ -1 moreAt first, they were nice and prompt the first year. Now they can't keep appointments and DO NOT LISTEN to their clients wishes. Horrible at follow up calls.
Description of Work: I have rental property and they have serviced a condo for three years. This summer the AC went out again. I called to have them replace the inside unit. They missed the first two appointments and finally showed up for the third. They said the system was shot. Hello, I know that. I talked with Mike to get an estimate on replacing it and he gave me a price for the condensing unit outside, which they replaced the previous year. After telling him he quoted the wrong unit, he said he would research it and call me back. He never called back and sent someone to rewire the unit. The AC works now, but they disconnected the heat. I have been out about $700 over the past 3 years just to keep it going and didn't want to be out any more money, which is why I asked it to be replaced. I still haven't received a call from Mike to discuss my options as the technician said he would. They also installed a condenser at my home last year and just found out it was not installed properly according to Carrier
