The contractor used a long August Saturday to strip, repair and replace the roof. The crew was most efficient and very professional. While the roofers were stripping, a ceiling crew removed the entire structure from the garage. Before the sun had set, the new roof was complete, the garage ceiling was gone and the entire property cleared of debris. I have not found any nail since the event. This was not my first roofing experience but it sure was the cleanest. I was surprised by the amount of rotten decking that needed to be replaced. This implied that there were more leaks than anyone was aware of. The garage ceiling replacement took another two weeks to complete. I attribute this time to scheduling and the size of the project where the garage is described as 2.5 cars wide. I am sure that someone told me the square footage but I do not recall the value. The new drywall was installed, taped and the taping feathered. Insulation was installed and the ceiling was painted. Each day the area was cleaned of dust and debris. Without a thorough wipe down, the dust will never be gone from all the areas of the garage. I feel that the project costs were realistic though expensive. There is no way that I could have accomplished this effort without these professionals. The significant labor requirements and the amount of building supplies justified the expense.
