Company was referred by my insurance company, USAA, which I had trusted for 25 years. Roof was installed using poor technique and inferior materials. Toe boards were used rather than jacks and harnesses, and they were hammered directly through the exposed face of brand new shingles. Cheap 3-tab shingles were used for hips and ridges vice proper hip and ridge cap materials. Valleys were installed incorrectly. Old flashing was re-used and improperly installed. Roof leaked systematically in 8 different locations, damaging 5 rooms in my home. Had to undertake another full roof replacement after only 6 years.

They did about a third of the work ( by the plumber) and wanted to take about 50% of the claim money. The initial plumber (subcontracted) did a good job. Dawkins did a lousy job and were claiming things they didn't do and misquoting square footage of things they didn't do. They delayed and were slow with the work and to respond. We have been in a hotel since December. I am using a different company to finish the project. I would never use this company again. The other contractor I am using had to go over the initial work.

I liked their responsiveness and their professionalism as far as when I called to talk to them about the work. The professionalism of the supervisor was excellent, but of the workers who painted the baseboard was poor. What I disliked was the quality of work. The workers had to put a brand new front door on a saw board and cut it down. They scratched it really bad and got it really dirty. I had to actually have another company come in and repair that door. The subcontractors that they brought in to paint the baseboard didn’t clean them before they painted, so there are little particles at some places. It was different stuff like that. I was very dissatisfied with they did. I would not use them again in the future.
