They sent out 2 techs to my house over the course of a month. Neither of the techs installed the internet. However, I was told by Customer Service that I did have a router active for my address and that I had service. How can I have service with no equipment?!! After reaching out to Comcast for over a month with still no service, at this point I felt like I was begging them to do the job they were supposed to have already done. As compensation, they offered to credit for the bill they sent me for the service I NEVER RECEIVED!! That is not compensation! That's just not charging me for the service I didn't get.
Description of Work: I was trying to have Internet installed at my house.

This review is for the Comcast company in general. The problems I encountered were from customer service agents over the phone that were in different states and countries, not necessarily the Memphis location. On July 23, 2016, I called Comcast to sign up for internet services only. I signed up for the Performance Internet package for 39.99, which I have an email confirmation of. The customer service rep scheduled the install on Sat 7-30-2016. The tech came out and looked at my connections outside and said he could not hook up services until a new line was run outside of the home, he scheduled a "line bury" apt for Aug 15. I called Comcast to explain what the tech told me about the outside line. The customer service agent asked me if I would like services installed earlier and I replied, "yes of course." So the rep said she could set up an earlier apt for the line bury outside. She said it could be done the next day, ,July 31. they would have between 8am to 8pm to come out and install the line. No one came out or called that day. I called back Monday the 1st of Aug and spoke with a different customer service agent and told them no one showed up to install the outside line, she apologized and rescheduled the apt for Tues Aug 2nd. No one called or showed up that day either. I called Comcast back Wed morning Aug 3, and spoke to another rep and told her no one showed up for the apt once again. She said she would escalate my issue and would set an apt for someone to come out and install the line this day. She told me someone would call me before they came out to install the line and I would need to lie to them when they called in order for them to come out. I have this conversation on recording. The agent told me I would need to tell the install dept that a line was in my backyard causing a safety hazard and someone will be injured if it was not taken care of, again, I have this conversation on recording. It made no difference anyway because no one ever called or came out this day. I was so frustrated with Comcast about all the run around and missed appts that I called that evening around 10pm and told them if no one can come out and install the line I might as well cancel. The agent advised me that I had a line bury apt for Aug, 15. Apparently, this first initial apt was never changed in their system I guess. So then the agent said, "So you want to cancel, ok". Then disconnected the line. I called back Friday Aug 5th to find out if I still had an apt for Aug, 15 or if in fact the agent cancelled me. He cancelled me. The new agent asked if I would like services. I was boiling at this point but kept calm, and said YES I would like services. He signed me up, once again for the Performance Internet package for 39.99 and said we still have a line bury apt for you on Aug 15. I was told my account was canceled but still had an apt scheduled, at this point I didn't even try to question this. So today, Monday, Aug 8th, two guys with Comcast shirts show up at my front door, they bury a line in my backyard. I get home and call Comcast to schedule a tech to finally come out and install services inside the home now that the outside line is installed. The customer service lady I speak with says I don't have an internet package picked. I explain to her that yes I surely do and have an email confirmation showing that I have the Performance Package for 39.99 a month. She tells me that there is no Performance Package and that I can either sign up for the Blast Package for 69.99 a month or the Starter Pack for 19.99 a month. (You have got to be kidding me right) I tell her I have an email, from Comcast showing everything I have signed up for and she tells me that I'm not in the system for any package at all and they do not offer that anymore. I ask her to let me speak with a supervisor or someone I'd like to file a complaint with and she tells me there is no one, only her. I ask her to transfer me to a supervisor, she transfers me to the automated recording you get when you first call Comcast. I call back, I admit I'm furious at this point. I speak with a Comcast agent and start from the beginning and tell her everything I have listed here. After a very long wait on hold, as they all do, she came back and told me yes, we can do the Performance Internet package for you for 39.99 but you have to sign up for automated bill pay so we can be linked to your bank or credit card account. Absolutely not! I tell her that this company is extremely crooked and I will be filing a complaint outling everything I have experienced with Comcast. Not to mention they want your social security number as well. This is totally unacceptable and unethical business practices and no matter who you talk to with Comcast, there is no accountability for any of their actions and the agents know this I think. They know they will not get In trouble and that you will never be able to talk to them or find them ever again. This company is borderline criminal. This kind of business practice cannot be tolerated. We need more internet options other than Comcast and ATT. They know there is no other viable option out there, I think that's why they feel they can do this to people.

It has been terrible. The internet is fine bit I have had trouble with the DVR box. They replaced it 4 times now and I am thinking I am going to switch. The box they have a piece of junk. The first box we had worked fine but them the fan started making so much noise you could not hear the TV. Them they replaced that box with a newer version and then sometime it works and sometimes it doesn’t. Then they came back and replace it with another. I think the boxes are the problem. The cable has been fine but the big issue is the box. They also replaced the internet modem but it worked fine since.

On 7/24, I reported to Comcast the cable from the pole to the house is a safety hazard, it was falling down and 6 ft. off the driveway. Phone rep said they could have someone out the next day, they would call to confirm before coming. No call/ No show on the 25th. Called them on the 26th told them, this rep said they would have someone out to repair the cable and that no one needed to be at home since it was outside. I was told I would get $20 credit for missed appointment. Today is the 28th, no repair and no credit.

The last time they came out her they charged me a service charge which made me very mad at them, as I have been using them for some time now and never been charged before. We went at it on the phone and they finally did credit me back but I told him if something happens again they can just come and get their stuff. Mostly Comcast is good, their internet is very fast and they did give me a number that I can get right through to someone so that is all good.

They are too expensive and every household has different contract from $10 a month to $120 a month and I am in the $120, but I don’t know why. I have been with them for over 20 years and recently upgraded to a higher service where I get more channels. I will use them again in the future.

Everything was awesome; the gentleman was on time, all the equipment was there, it was a really pleasurable service. The only thing is that I have been having trouble, like, I can't get On Demand; I tried to call them about it and found out that the 800 number is not as helpful as I assumed it would be. They kept telling me it is a free service and there is nothing they can do since I am not being charged for it. They sent someone out but they could not figure it out so I have not done anything else about it. I will use them again in the future.

Description of Work: I've been a Comcast TV and internet customer for years and they always provided high quality service. Today I called for service and found they had a new (and more circuitous) call menu. When I finally got to the service technician I found they are now out-sourced! The tech was very polite and very patient but his strong accent was an obvious communication barrier. We communicated to the point that I was able to explain my problem (which was more a question than a problem). He was gone a short time, came back, asked a question which I answered, then he politely asked me to hold and said "I'll be right back." My curiosity kept me on the line for 23 minutes when I finally hung up. I'm looking for another cable company with local service techs.

We are willing to put up with Comcast because of the good services that we receive from EarthLink and Vonage. If they tell me that they will show up between 8 and 12, they will show up between 8 and 12. That is a good thing about them. I had gone an entire week without a phone and internet connection, and Comcast lied to me many times over and passed the buck. I was told something different every single time I called. When I finally called EarthLink, he asked me why I hadn?t called him in the first place. He had me fixed within an hour?s time. I don?t pay the EarthLink bill but it comes in the form of the Comcast bill which is $41.95. We spend our money and we are entitled to kind, thorough customer service. I had a three way talk with an EarthLink technician and a Comcast technician, and I had to call the Comcast person down because he was speaking in a condescending manner to the EarthLink technician. The Comcast person was rude, condescending and impatient.
Description of Work: Comcast supplies a dual cable that provides me access to a Vonage landline and the EarthLink high-speed internet service.

After a month or so it still isn't fixed. At first they scheduled someone to come out. When the day came no one showed. When I called they said that there wasn't any appointment scheduled. They said I just needed a reset and I could call back. The reset didn't work so I called back and they scheduled a service call. This time someone came out. They had been told to enter the service code. It was correct, so he arranged for someone else to come replace the CableCards in my Tivo. I also found that there were a few other channels that didn't work, although they aren't ones I watch. The next day a guy came out to replace the CableCards. The problem still was not resolved. He said another department would have to work on it. A few weeks later I have not heard back from Comcast.
Description of Work: I am no longer able to get CNN on high definition. I called for them to fix it.

There were problems with the installation. I had an existing cable modem for internet service and they took it out and said that the phone modem will also give the Internet service. It turns out that I lost the Internet service because I had a business class connection that was too fast to go through the phone modem. I had to make some phone calls to straighten it out. I'm sometimes getting bad phone quality. Usually it is OK, but sometimes it is real noisy. Also, last week the service was out for 16 hours after a thunderstorm. I would not want to rely on the service as my only phone.

Comcast is the worst, and it is obviously that they are a monopoly. Their customer service is terrible. It took about 15 phone calls, and hours, to get this work done. They came to my house about 6 times, and I even had to go to the Comcast office to exchange a bad cable box. One of the worst customer-service experiences I have ever had.
