Champion Windows and Home Exteriors of Memphis

My experience was very, very good. I couldn't have asked for anything to be different, except for it to be faster. Their installers were very knowledgable and knew what they were doing.

We have replace windows in our home in stages. The first stage we replaced 5 north facing windows downstairs. We spent approx. $3500. Once we paid that off, we did the second stage of replacing 5 south facing windows downstairs. Again we spent approx. $3500. Once we paid that off, we did the third stage of replacing 3 north facing upstairs windows. We currently have 5 more upstairs windows to replace. So far all the representatives have all been very courteous and professional. All workmen have cleaned up after themselves very well. The windows have cut my electric bill by half since we starte this project. I have a 3000 sq. ft. home witha n average electric bill of $100 per month. We keep our thermostat at 68 in the winter and 72 in the summer. Though the price is a little steep, it is well worth the qualite of the product and we would definitely use Champion again.

I got a demonstration of the effectiveness of the windows (they are "low e"). Feeling the difference between ordinary windows and the Champion windows when a really hot light source was directed through them was astonishing. The installation took place just as promised and was done quickly. The installer was professional and cleaned up his debris. I spent a lot of money on these windows, but I feel that they were worth the investment. They are energy efficient, easy to clean, and safer from an intruder than my old windows.

They have done a very good job. They are going to match my patio color for free. I have no complaints. The costumer service has been exceptional. The sales person has gone above and beyond. They have kept in contact with me through out the whole process.

They quality of the windows and his demonstration was very impressive. He also introduced me to the TVA rebate for the windows that will help save me money. They also gave me the choice of paying over a years time with no interest.

Our final decision on windows and doors came down to Home Depot and Champion. We let them fight it out on bids until Champion was a bit lower. Champion was the most expensive at retail but was willing to compete so never pay retail! The work was done as quoted, on time and quickly. 23 windows were installed in one day. It was fast but the guys did their job right. I know because I watched them. The doors were installed a bit later. "Quiet & Comfortable" is the best way to describe our new interior environment. We have to raise a window to hear the outside noise, birds or rain. On a hot day with the window blinds raised you can hold your hand against the inside glass and feel no heat at all. We had a large oak tree come through our bedroom window this summer and Champion was quick to respond to our need of a new replacement window. Our personal experience with the Memphis, TN store has been very good. We need to replace our front door next to complete the job so we will let Champion bid with the other door suppliers. I hope Champion wins again!

We had a fair experience. The salesman was good, but was high pressure. It didn't take the installer long, and they only sent out one individual. There was much less involved with replacing the windows than what I thought there would be. I had to have them come out once after the installation to re-caulk one of the windows.

They are okay as far as contact with you; they are friendly, they are on time, and they know what they are doing. Unfortunately they always leave something out. They built a covered porch for us and we don?t have a step going down. They said we should have told them to and I don?t think that is professional. They are fine and the quality is good; I can't complain about that. I think they are expensive. We used them twice but I won't use them again.

We had used them to install a patio room on the back of our home a few years ago. We had been very pleased with their service and their product. They have very high quality products. Everything turned out wonderful. They work well with you. If you have any problem whatsoever they are right there. If you call them, they call right back. We are very pleased with them. I would say their prices are a little high.

Salesmen was punctual on day of estimate. Came and did many demonstrations (often unnecessary, such as a supposed "heat" lamp to show how great their glass was). Overall, the process was not painful, but the product is not as fantastic as they make it out to be. Also, we had to push for a straight answer on installation (I asked whether they use subcontractors, and was first told that all of their installers are certified by Champion and work for Champion). After the third attempt at getting a true answer, the salesmen was honest and stated they are subcontractors and they have to take a basic "test" from Champion and sign a promise to work for only Champion. Basically, they do what they want and they are NOT employed by Champion. Foremost, the price was almost double other estimates, even after repeated "deals" and "discounts" of 40%. High price for an average product installed by subcontractors that I could find at the big box stores kept me away.

They were very competitive with other window companies and were willing to negotiate. They had, in my opinion, the best quality and warrantee so we went with them. We love the windows and they perform exactly as advertised.

We got six or seven estimates and they were the highest price and kept coming down on price. We didn't like the whole hard sell. The salesman spent quite a bit of time badmouthing other companies and kept saying they could drop the price if we did this and did that. It wasn't a pleasant experience and I would not recommend them. The price came down to $7,200 depending on certain things and if we only paid cash.

It went awesome. I went to the showroom and looked at the variety of options and they gave me a very information presentation. Then a representative came to my home and walked me through the process, tax advantage, and set up a time for measurement. All people were punctual and on day of installation, they started at 7am and finished by 3pm. I had chosen them on referral from a neighbor and was not disappointed!

We received 5 quotes from other window contractors and decided on Champion. Since my husband was not at home during the demonstration we went up to their showroom to be sure he was comfortable with the product. The staff at the showroom were very attentive and answered all our questions. The contractor arrived on time and was very respectful of my property during the installation. When I came to check on his progress he explained what he was doing and why. After he was finished, he very carefully picked up all the debris both in the yard and house. Before I paid the balance he asked if I was satisfied with the job. The next day a salesperson stopped by and brought me some glass cleaner. He demonstrated how to clean my windows. Because of their attention to detail we will be calling them back to replace the other windows in the house.

On 10 October 2006, I filed a complaint on Champion Window and Doors with the Better Business Bureau (BBB). To me, this is clearly a fraudulent business practice, bait and switch. Sign a contract, then come up with a phony excuse to raise the price almost 30%. Brandon McDonald would not admit any fault and refunded my deposit. Throughout the BBB process, Mr. McDonald continued to misrepresent Champion's portion and responsibility to the contract, saying they would only do "six" windows as that was the agreement. I wasn't. How Champion "counts" windows is transparent to the customer. It is not for me to care if you count them as 6,8,12 or 16!!! But intentionally misrepresenting the count in the contract is wrong. Champion is a paying member of the BBB, Midsouth. Unsurprisingly, at exactly 30 days, the BBB closed my complaint as "unresolved".

I think they did an all around good job on our sunroom. The entire installation went smoothly. We had no problems with the crews and everything looks and works fine including the lights and electric. It is comfortable to use year round.

I will not doubt the fact that the room is beautiful, but, I still am not 100% pleased at all. They had not done quite as many things as they said they were going to do and they did not have a good way of communicating with us at all. I will not say what they were supposed to do because it makes me kind of angry. Now do not get me wrong, I love their products very much, I just do not like them very much as people in general.

There were a couple of minor flaws with the final product. There was a leak in the roof that ended up damaging our hardwood flooring. They were very good about fixing the damage of our floors at their expense. They were also very polite and kind. They were definitely professionals. They showed up on time during the initial building of the sunroom however they did not show up on time when they were supposed to return and do the repairs to the roof. I guess they were actually on another project so I could understand that. During the entire project, they were perfect gentlemen. After all of the work they did for us and for their professional attitudes, we would use their services again.

They were very concerned about doing a good job and they sent out their head of the maintenance to oversee the work. He did an excellent job and the problem we had with the roof was repaired very quickly. It has not leaked anymore since then.

Please tell this company if you ever deal with them as far as work that they are just wonderful. My sun room is just absolutely perfect. I have not one single complaint at all. I am more pleased with them than you can imagine. My dog is also very pleased, he loves his little doggy door. They were very nice and they were very patient with my dog. My dog would not leave them be, but, they did not seem to mind. I would definitely recommend these guys to anyone in the world.

I was very happy with the service. We really love the room. The workers were fine. They worked hard to get the job done efficiently. The quality of the work is great. I would recommend them to others. They are a professional company.

They were very polite, and they showed up at the scheduled time. They were very well prepared and very time efficient. They cleaned up very well, and they took time to make sure all of the windows worked properly before they left our home.

Champion did an excellent job with the siding. I feel that it had turned out extremely well. They cleaned up their mess before they left. Also, they did not leave until they had my approval that everything was ok. I thought that was very professional of them.

I think they did an excellent job! I enjoy my patio all the time and it is the best room in the house. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone for the great workmanship and reliability that this company possesses. They are awesome to work with and I am very pleased with them as well. They did a great job.

We were not real pleased with this siding company. They over charged us for the installation, our home is only about 1200 square feet. We have found other companies who would of charged less. However they do offer a lifetime warranty. They also did the trim worked with the installation. We would not use their service again because of the price.
