+ -1 morePurchased a frig, ice maker, 2 dishwashers, vent hood, range, mini frig, microwave, washer and dryer and dual range due to a house fire. The installer that installs Cenwood products unfortunately broke our range door last year, they tried to repair the door after fixing a defective UI unit without success. We were told that the issue would need to be addressed by the manufacturer. Since then we have had no resolution and it's been almost 7 months since the range was broken and Cenwood does not want to take responsibility. I would strongly recommend going elsewhere to purchase your 'high end appliances' because if they feel they can do this to me and my family they can and will do it to you

Description of Work: Ordered a Range top, Microwave and double oven. The oven ordered was the wrong size after giving the person the exterior dimensions of the entire unit. They had to reorder the correct size oven. I was a little frustrated in that they are experienced in dealing with appliances. I was told that they could not find the model number I had provided them when we were first placing the order. When I googled it I found the manual that give the size and dimension on the internet. It took an additional four weeks to get a 27" wide oven which is the standard size. I had to contact them to get information a number of times to find out when the oven would be in so that I could have it installed. It seemed like I was not on top of their list when it came to follow up by keeping me informed. The last time I called at 4:30 pm they told me that the oven had arrived. I was expecting a call when they received it in the warehouse earlier that day. I did not get one. If I had not called before they closed for the day, I do not know when I would have been notified.

The customer service person I worked with was extremely helpful and if we could have received the specific hood we chose in a shorter amount of time I would have ordered from them. The turn around time for the model and style we wanted was long at other places I called so I don't hold that against them and will try them again for my next project.

+ -1 moreThey were recommended by a friend. I went in after looking at other appliance stores and I was very impressed with the huge availability and the variety they have. Almost every brand name you can think of in appliances is there. I actually started shopping at the end of 2013 and I went in numerous times. Every time I went in, there is not one person on their staff that I would not highly recommend. I only bought from one person but they will all greet you and congenial even after you purchase the appliances. They are just an outstanding staff. Whenever I change my mind about the purchase I want they showed me all the products and all the information. They just went out of their way to show me information on the variety of their products.
Description of Work: I used the services of Cenwood Appliances for appliance sales. I bought a dishwasher, hook top, microwave and wall oven. But the last time I was there, I asked them what I should use on my dishwasher to clean it.

+ -1 moreWe visited Cenwood to comparison shop and range ventilation hood. I must say that at 70 yrs old, I am very sales resistant and wary. Mr Fullwood and others at Cenwood helped us in ways we never expected. We had been interested in a hood of X capacity, and after asking us many questions about our cooking/frying habits, Mr Fullwood gave us his opinion that X was too much capacity for our needs and that we should think seriously about Y. We presented some renovation considerations (ducting inside and out) and asked for opinions. They suggested some alternatives, but recommended that we talk to one of their installers, Mr Burgess (see my review of Appliance Man, Inc.), as he had many years experience and and quot;could do it all.and quot; To summarize, we were shopping for a $1200 appliance and Cenwood recommended that we really needed a cheaper alternative. They took the time to ask questions about our needs, and based their recommendations on that. We ended up not buying the appliance we had been shopping for, but I will use Cenwood as my go-to guys for future appliance purchases.

Description of Work: Went to Cenwood to purchase cabinets for kitchen island after another cabinet company was unable to obtain cabinets I wanted. Plans for cabinets were already drawn up although some minor modifications were called for. Cabinet order placed with Dura Supreme (manufacturer) and Tanya (at Cenwood) kept me well informed of manufacturing schedule and delivery timeline and gave excellent service. However, upon cabinet arrival, Nelson Waller (part-time designer) insisted we use 'his' installer. I was provided with a contact number for this person and I spoke with him by phone to schedule a date enabling him to provide me with an estimate. During the telephone conversation the installer stated he would come by on Wednesday to estimate and could "get to me" on Thursday or Friday. Given that information I requested Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday off from work. The installer called me saying he had conflict on Wednesday but that if I was okay with it, he would 'ball park' a quote and just see me for the install. I was fine with that - but he never showed up and never called. Nelson Waller, when contacted, insisted I had misunderstood because the installer was ALWAYS booked at least one week in advance and that he would get me scheduled. Another week passed. Long and painful story shorter, I spoke with Nelson again and he was to have the installer call me the following Monday to schedule for another week later. When I had not heard from 'his' installer by Thursday at 3:30 p.m. I contacted the original cabinet company, obtained the names of two installers, and my cabinets were installed the following day without a hitch. Around mid-day on Friday, I received a call from Nelson Waller (designer for Cenwood). He asked if I had gotten in touch with 'his' installer. I told him no, and that it would not be necessary because I had made other arrangements. He became irate on the phone. Told me that after all I had "put" his installer through that I owed the man a phone call AND an aoplogy. Nelson was essentially reading ME the riot act because I had bypassed his process and done my own thing. I guess my little $6000 order didn't give him enough comission to warrant common courtesy in dealing with customers. He lit into me and berated me for fouling 'his' installers schedule; since his installer had me on the books on two different occasions and I had cancelled (??). When I told him I had NOT been on the schedule he said "Oh yes you have". When I recounted the telephone conversation I had with 'his' installer Nelson said "he didn't say that". (Bear in mind, the installer called my personal cell phone ... I think I would have remembered a three-way conversation). I suppose he could have just called me a liar and been done with it. To say I was upset is far too mild. I will NEVER return to Cenwood Appliances and Cabinets as a result of the wholey unprofessional, rude, and arrogant treatment I received from Nelson Waller.

+ -1 morePrice is great. It was even lower than Sears. Beautiful showroom, but sometimes tough to get waited on. Also, had a big delivery snafu that delayed my remodeling plans by a couple of weeks. Nonetheless, I would still buy from this company again.
