Burns Appliance Repair

Mr. Burns came to my house on a Sunday morning because his schedule didn't accommodate mine on Saturday. I was quite surprised when he offered that. He was very friendly and professional. The problem with the dryer wound up resolving itself, I would still recommend his company.

mr. burns was absolutely terrific and fast finding the dryer problem. and since we were selling our house with the washer and dryer, the dryer needed to work quietly. well, me. burns fixed that immediately. and the house sold within 5 days of his fixing the dryer.

Excellent provider. I found Burns Appliance on Angie's list and used him based on the "A" rating and good reviews. I received a near immediate response, and he was at my house the next day. Very professional, very nice. He evaluated my washing machine and then advised that the repair was cost prohibitive. He gave good advice and I ended up buying a new washing machine. The service visit was only $50. Overall a good experience and I will call him for all future appliance repairs.

Rick is the real deal - an honest appliance repairman. When our oven started beeping loudly (at night, of course), we called and scheduled an appointment. When he came out, he tinkered with it for a few minutes and actually cleared up the problem. We also had him look at our dishwasher because it wasn't really cleaning glasses on the top shelf. He determined that a circulating pump was not working and left us with a very clear price to fix it. Before we decided to replace the dishwasher pump, our washing machine started leaking. He came back out and diagnosed the problem as a faulty hot water valve. Again, we were given a very clear price to fix it. Agreed on the spot to have both appliances fixed. The parts arrived the next day and both appliances were fixed in short order. While it's no fun to spend money fixing appliances, Rick took very good care of us. He is easy to get in touch and managed to squeeze us into a very busy schedule. He comes when he says he will and calls first. He tells you exactly what the problem is and gives you options without pressuring you. We felt very comfortable throughout the process and won't hesitate to call him again!

He called me the day after I purchased the service and agreed to my requested date & time. He called 30 minutes before the appointment, and showed up on time. I explained the problem, and he was able to reproduce it. He said it was one or all of three possible parts and gave me an estimated cost, but he also told me that my brand of dishwasher was problematic, and replacing the parts may not fix the issue. Given the cost & risk, I declined the repair. He did not charge me for the trip. Even though he did not fix the problem, he showed up on time, was honest about the cost & risks, and did not charge for the visit. Because of those three counts, he gets an A+.

Very rarely, in some 50 years of home ownership, have I been privileged to encounter the levels of technical knowledge and mechanical skill I found personified in Burns Appliance Repair over the past two days. I selected Burns based on information published by Angie?s list and found the underlying facts to be more impressive than the narrative. Rick ? the technician involved -- quickly identified the problem late in Day One and completed repairs early in Day Two. More importantly from my perspective, he demonstrated in-depth knowledge as well as unusual talent in working with appliances of all kinds. (After repairing a washing machine, he took a few minutes to show me how to quickly remove an old bulb from the interior of an oven ? a task that I?d had to call a repairman to handle some months earlier. Burns Appliance Repair has become my vendor of choice in dealing with appliance repairs. EWB

Went very well ... had to order a part and return a few days later to actually make the repair

Mr. Burns was on time and very nice. He checked out ice maker and determined that it could be that one or two circuit boards could be the problem. That the boards would cost about $100.00 each . That he would try one board first to see if that would fix the problem before installing the other one. This was to save us the cost of two board if possible. He stated he would have to order the board and come back when they arrive. That was fine with us. But not long after he left the ice maker started to make ice .. It seems. Mr. Burns fix the problem when reinstalling circuit boards ,possible loose connection. I Called him to inform him that the ice maker was making ice ,and to cancel the order on the boards. We believe it could have been a loose connection, and corrected when he reinstalled boards. If not we would have to order boards if the problem happens again. It is now two days later and still making ice. Mr. Burns was honest ,kind and thoughtful . we are going to use his services again when needed.

He was timely and friendly, easy to work with.

Great. He had an idea of the problem based on my description and brought the correct part. Took less than 1/2 hour.

Rick Burns (the repairman) is very nice & professional. He returned my initial call promptly (the next morning). He confirmed appointment with a call to me shortly before visit. Arrived during the agreed upon time frame. Sympathetic to my problem. Gave me the Angie's list discount. Very quick & efficient. We had discussed symptoms, model number, etc. prior to repair visit. (I also sent an e.mail with that info to him.) He was equipped with the necessary part. Obviously he was experienced and knew what to do with a minimal amount of "fuss." He checked his work - ran it through a cycle. Gave 90 day written warranty for work and part. Washer now works like it should (the repair was just 2 hours ago; washing a load now; finished washing; clothes clean). All seems to be ok.

Our washing machine stopped working last night. We found this repairman this morning on Angie's List. He promptly answered the phone and set an appointment window for this afternoon.He called to let us know when he was 25 minutes away. He was well equipped and tried a couple of fixes. Unfortunately he found a board that was not repairable and is no longer manufactured. This service call was affordable and gave us confidence that it's time to replace this very old machine.

I would highly recommend Rick..He was there before appointment time.I had told him what the fridge was doing before he ever came out and he said it was probably 2 things...compressor (400.00) or electrical (200.00),so I had an idea of what to expect.Luckily it was electrical and he had it fixed in 15 minutes..Super nice and I would definitely use him again.I like the face that he works for himself and not some big company who needs to make a big sale or commission.Like he said he treats people like he wants to be treated..

Rick was professional and honest. He gave us fair estimates, and helped us weigh our options- WITHOUT pressuring us to make choices that would ultimately bring him more money. We opted to fix one appliance, and he secured the part, and was able to do the repair the following Saturday without our having to miss work. We trusted him so much that we decided to have him install the other appliance we opted to replace, even though we purchased it via a company that also offered installation. I would definitely recommend him to friends who find themselves in the unfortunate, unplanned scenario of having an appliance that suddenly stops functioning, especially if you don't have a good background in electronics and need advice, and if you work during the week and can't easily take off Mon-Fri.

I called and Rick was at my house in less then 15 minutes, he was in the area. He diagnosed the problem, gave me a quote of 230.00, and asked for a go ahead to proceed, and then ordered the part. He told me it would be in on Thursday evening and he would bring it by first thing Friday morning around 9:00. He showed up promptly a little before 9AM,fixed the dishwasher and his quote was the price. He was professional, prompt, and priced right. I will use him for all my appliances in the future. Thanks for a pleasant experience.

Repairman showed up early, was prepared with a replacement part that he thought I might need based on my phone description of the problem. Fixed the problem in short order. Friendly fast service. Highly recommended.

I gave him as much info on the phone and he came prepared for everything except a hose that he had to leave the job and get. Other than that this is the 2nd time we have used Burns Repair and would not hesitate to use them again.

Had a condenser fan go out on my refrigerator (googled the problem) and called Mr Burns and he got my model number and told me the cost over the phone. Took off the Angie's list discount and showed up on time and did a GREAT job. Very professional. Would recommend him to anyone!

I called Burns Appliance Repair after reading reviews on Angie's List. Rick answered the phone and arranged a visit around my work schedule. I really liked the fact that he didn't give me a "window" of time to come to my house like so many do. He came the following day after I got home from work. I received a call prior to his arriving at my house. I told Rick that I was a "do it your selfer" and had watched a You Tube video about repairing my washer myself, but since electricity was involved, I knew better than to attempt the repair. He made the repair in a very short time. I also asked him about repairing my dryer which kept running after I opened the door. He didn't have the part to repair it with him and said he could come back and repair it, but he told me it was an easy fix and that I could easily do it myself. He actually showed me how to repair it! Rick is the owner of Burns Appliance, and he couldn't have been nicer. I have already recommended him to friends and will definitely call him in the future!

The price they quoted me was too high.

We got the deal refunded because didn't the service anymore. I emailed them and they were responsive and professional.

He was very friendly and accessible. He returned calls timely and answered questions without hesitation. My biggest gripe is that I was charged for the big deal and then another $80.00 labor fee. I told them what the problem was so I paid a diagnostic fee for nothing. Please read the fine print on the big deals. They can be a rip off. Not faulting the service provider but Angie's List in general.

He showed up in an unmarked vehicle, which made me hesitant. He came and assessed the issue, but didn't offer to help me. He told me what was wrong and rushed off. While he was with me he wason the phone, so could not even answer my questions.
