American Standard Foundation Repair, LLC is a full service foundation repair company specializing in the prevention, repair and restoration of foundation damage and its effects on your home. We repair both concrete slab and conventional beam and joist homes. American Standard Foundation Repair, LLC prides itself in the proper diagnosis of the cause of foundation failure. Only by understanding the cause of a failure, can we hope to prevent it from occurring again. We give free estimates that are performed by certified technicians who are trained to recognize both the obvious and obscure causes of foundation failure. After we diagnose your foundation issue, you will receive a Repair Plan Diagram that addresses the immediate cause of the foundation failure, preventive measures that decrease the chances of this happening again, as well as restorative measures that can put your home back to its original state. We are the only Nationally Certified Foundation Repair Specialist in the tri-state area (TN, MS, AR.)

Description of Work: Needed to have sag lifted in floors and replace improper support beams in crawl space. Shows up late, did not with me during the process, used second hand posts with paint and previous nails in the new support beam, did not remove all incorrect code failing temp supports, did not remove debris from crawl space, one of the new support Jacks is not level by far. No follow up after the job. Very very very satisfied! I'm now digging in the crawl space and doing their work because it will not pass home inspection!

Description of Work: American Standard foundation inspector found numerous problems that seller would not repair. I retracted my offer to purchase house because of this inspection and would recommend anyone looking to buy a home to get a foundation inspection. Saved me a lot of trouble! Buy the way, by going through Angies list, I got this inspection for $49.00 instead of $225.00

They are the best jacks that can be purchased in this country. We are also the only company that uses them because they are expensive compared to the methods used by other companies. We do this because if there is a problem, even if that problem occurs a decade from now, you can re-adjust these jacks very quickly and simply. We consider that to be incredible quality. Could you please elaborate on the reason that you felt our Quality was a "B"? While a B is still a good grade, I always like to follow the perception of our company. Only by follow up, are we able to continue to improve our company. I do understand that the price of these jacks is high, and that might be the reason for a B in Price. I assure you, as someone who has to deal with fixing the ill-repaired methods of other, this extra money spent on these jacks will long be worth it. [member name removed], I apologize that you have had difficulty in reaching us. When a client calls the office, we try very hard to make sure that you do not reach our voicemail system. When the secretary is on the phone, the call is transferred to our Vice President. When he is on the phone the call is automatically transferred to the owner of the company. Only when all three people are on the phone, does a client get transferred to voicemail. Therefore, it would be highly unlikely that you could get the voicemail three times in a row. I would like to suggest a few possible explanations. First, we have tracking numbers on all of our advertisements. Each number allows us to know which advertising source our client came from. At times, these tracking numbers get misguided. This is a rare occurrence, but it has happened. Could you provide me with the number you were calling so that I might check to make sure that it is set up correctly? Secondly, I want to assure you that we return every call that comes in to our company. On the rare occurrence that someone reaches our voicemail, we usually return their calls within the hour. We have not received any voicemail from you, or I can assure you we would have returned the call. Could we check the number you were dialing to ensure that there is no problem on our part? Finally, the reason you called is because you have concerns about your foundation or need some sort of work. If you wouldn't mind giving us another try, my direct cell number is 901-825-3497 and my name is Jae Wells. I am the owner of the company and I can assist you in getting someone down to Fulton to take a look at your issue. I spend the entire day on the phone, so if you do happen to reach my direct cell voicemail, I can assure you that I will call you back promptly. I cannot explain what happened, but I can assure you that we are happy that you are interested in our company and we will do everything in our power to take care of you in a timely and professional manner. Description of Work: The representative came to my house August 12, 2014 to get information on the job and work up an estimate. He said it was a really big job and would need the owner of the business to see the size of the project. Second visit on August 21, 2014, owner and representative came to my home again. Stated what needed to be done. Because a huge retaining wall was to be constructed, the called in a Structural Engineer; which I had to pay for. They left my home knowing what work would be required and told me they would go back to office and work up the estimate. Two weeks passed and I had not heard from the company. I called them and was told they were waiting for the plans from the Structural Engineer; they would call him and get the plans. Another week passed and I called again. Only receptionist in office and I left message for call back. I did this three times days in a row; finally received a call back. I was told they had dropped the ball and was so sorry for the delay and they would get right on it. On September 26, 2014, I received email with the estimate. The estimate was more than I could afford.

Ms. [member name removed], I am very sorry that you were dissatisfied with our services. While you are correct with the timeline for the proposal, I would like for you to consider a few things in your evaluation of our company. The time for the second visit was coordinated with an engineer who does not work for our company. We use only third party engineers, not engineers that work for our company. This protects both parties by having an impartial expert determine the scope of work. We waited until the engineer had time to meet with us at your home so that all parties could be on the same page. Typically, engineers have their findings drawn up in 4-6 weeks. Mr. Poe got this together quickly for you because I told him this repair was urgent. While this timeline may not have been satisfactory to you, we can only produce plans once these are received. I believe that in comparison to most engineering firms, the required documents to produce such a retaining wall were produced in a timely and cost effective manner. Second, after receiving the diagrams the materials list took a few days to produce. The plans were very detailed and required over 6 hours of our time to produce a materials list. Upon first costing, the total for the job was over $48,000. I spent two weeks of my time farming out the materials list to four different vendors to attain the necessary materials at the cheapest price. After receiving their bids I went back to each of them and tried to pit them against one another to produce the best prices for materials on this wall. The materials cost difference for my efforts saved you over $9,000. This is the type of company we are and this is the effort we put into producing great work and the best prices. This does not happen overnight, because your timeline is dependent upon other manufacturers and their ability to get back to you. Your materials list was two pages long. It simply took time for manufacturers to get these things together. Once all the final data was in, I produced your estimate in less than 48 hours, and stayed in the office until 10 pm making sure that you got the estimate as quickly as possible. In total, our company has traveled approximately 120 miles in two trips and spent over 40 man-hours producing this estimate. I think that you are probably unaware of the time and effort that estimates such as yours take to put together. The cost to our company for putting an estimate together for such a project is substantial. We have asked nothing of you for our services, other than your consideration in doing the project. Typically, our clients deal with one of several salesmen or our Vice President of Sales when preparing for a project. While I run six different franchises of our company in three different states, I took the time to deal with your project myself. I did so because I felt a connection to you and I wanted to help make sure that the project would be done at the lowest price possible. While I am certain that you are disappointed in the cost of the project, I did my best to make sure that the wall would be placed as per engineering specifications and that no compromises would be taken in its construction. The stability of your home can only be addressed with this type of wall. While you may temporarily address the issue by backfilling the soil on the corners, this will not stop the movement of the home or the erosion from taking place. This type of treatment will only slow it down. There are several other options, but all are more expensive than the retaining wall. I am truly sorry that we did not meet your expectations, but I do hope that this gives you a little more information upon which you may base your judgment of our company.
