Then, Mike came in to make sure everything was operational; when he discovered the hot water wasn't on, he went to the water heater to see if the guy from the other company had turned it off (he had). The thing is, what he ended up finding was that when my house was re-roofed months before, the roofers had dislodged the vent pipes to both the water heater and the HVAC unit. Yes, he's coming back to fix that next week.
Description of Work: A water pipe burst under my 1950s-vintage home in East Memphis. I called a major plumbing house to come out and diagnose the problem, which they did and proceeded to recommend a complete re-piping all the way to the street to the tune of $8,500.00. I called Mike at All Service (among others) to get a repair cost estimate; I gave him the short-hand version of the story by phone and he had a guy at my house within 30 minutes. Fifteen minutes later, the technician had found the source of the leak--a large tree root that had lifted and broken the pipe--and told me it would be easy and quick to fix. Within an hour, Mike had brought the replacement part to the technician, it was installed, and the water was back on.
