Bob McCormic did work on the central gas heating system in the home I purchased to rectify items identified by the home inspector. The sellers of the home hired and paid Bob McCormic for his services over the summer. Upon turning on the heat for the first time this season, the warmest I could get the 1475 sq ft home was 53 degrees, even after leaving the heat running all day. I called Bob to ask if he had any suggestions for why the system would not be working propoerly. Bob immediately started to defend himself and I explained that I was merely trying to get information from him since I presumed he would be familiar with the unit, having just worked on it a few months ago. He was incredibly rude, even going so far as to snap, "Haven't you ever owned a home before?" As it turns out, this IS my first home purchase and I admittedly don't know much about HVAC. However, Bob's customer service skills were lacking if not non-existent altogether. He suggested that I unhook the gas furnace myself and remove the the filter to see if it was dirty. It seems as though he would have checked the filter himself while doing his $1400 worth of work on it, but I guess not. After he accused me of trying to get services from him for free, he offered to come back to my home and "take a look" at the heating unit for a minumum $75 consulation fee. Needless to say, I turned down his offer and will be looking for new HVAC repair company. Update: Turned out to be a dirty filter. Cost about $10 and took less than 5 minutes to fix the problem.
Description of Work: Replaced evaporator, furnace moved back 12" for future access, 4 vent grills removed and treated metal with insulation to stop or reduce sweating
