Sunset Painting Service

I was pleased with the result. When cleaning up they did miss picking up a couple of things from the fence painting that were out in the back yard and out of sight. The foreman had to leave prior to the workmen finishing up. I had contracted to have the lintels painted and since the foreman was not around, I had to remind the crew that they had been overlooked. They took care of it immediately.

They did a great job. They cleaned up after themselves but they trampled on my shrubbery.

We had trouble getting the job started, and then we rushed to finish it. We did have a couple of issues and they came right back and dealt with them. We liked the provider; he was not the lowest price bid, he was a bit pricey.

They did the actual painting on Monday/Tuesday (December 3 & 4), but came prior to that on Saturday (December 1) to do the pressure washing and cleaning, and to review what color selections went where. Very courteous & professional, and even pressure washed my 300 gallon propane tank while they were there. Although I was not in town when they did the actual painting, my review of their work after revealed that they had caulked around the doors and windows as necessary, and scraped away loose paint where it needed to be done. Finished off with a super good looking paint job ! Kudo's to these guys !! Not the least expensive guys to quote me a price (nor were they the most expensive), but I've lived long enough to know you get what you pay for, and these guys are definitely a good bunch. Would definitely call them again !

The job went very well. In order to get finished in a timely manner because of the impeding cooler and rainy weather, they added some extra painters to get finished. The job took 2 days

The came on the date promised, painted the entire house, and cleaned up nicely afterward --all in one day.

They have done regular work for us for probably 8 years or so. They do excellent work. They show up on time. They keep to their cost and tell us how much it would be. They clean up well. They are a good company. Overall, they are excellent. I would use their services in the future too.

My home is red brick that was painted white before I purchased it. I repainted it once but the paint started pealing after two years. I contacted Sunset Painting and they pressure washed and repainted it. That was 12 years ago and there was no peeling or flaking paint afterward. Because the paint was starting to look dull and chalky, I contacted them again and got an estimate that was very reasonable and not much higher than what they charged before. They arrived on the date we agreed, and completed the job in one day. Clean up was excellent and they left me a half gallon of the special paint used (which contains a chemical that bonds to the brick) for future touch up. For the second time, I was extremely pleased with the quality of their work.

Overall a very good experience. The paint crew and owner were professional and polite, did good work.

Started out great...but...well here's the story: Prompt response to first phone call. I had used them a few years ago to do an exterior paint job and absolutely loved them...so I didn't shop around. They have a good reputation in our town. Rusty offered to let me pay in installments also! Rusty was up front about needing work during winter months to keep his crew together. He told me I might have to wait 2 weeks, but called 2 days later ready to work. They completed the whole job in 2 days. They even gave me a day to make sure I liked the color, because the prep work took a bit longer and they only got one wall painted the first day. I did not like the color and they changed it with no extra charge. I was disappointed that some of the prep work we had specifically discussed (sanding rough spots on two walls and smoothing out rough spots on the wainscoting) was not done. Also, one door only received one coat of primer and no paint. All of the doors had spots where the old stain bled through the new paint. I had to repaint one wall that appeared to have only one very light coat of paint on it. I also had to scrape paint specks (from the sprayer?) off of every wood and tile floor that was adjacent to a wall for a space of about 6-12 inches from the walls or under doors. Luckily my carpet hides the specks well! I got no response after leaving two phone messages and sending a letter with one of the installments that described all of these issues. I still owe one installment. Needless to say I am very disappointed that they didn't respond and try to correct these issues. Maybe he just underbid the job so much, it wasn't worth it. I really don't know. However, I won't use or recommend them.
