Foothills Asphalt & Concrete

It is a pleasure to deal with a company that shows up, exceeds expectations, and leaves with no issues-this sums up my experience with Foothills Concrete. I called multiple concrete contractors to have a driveway extension installed. Some didn't return calls, some showed up but didn't follow through, some were unprofessional. Rowdy III showed up on time, answered my questions patiently, and provided a timely estimate. Rowdy provided advice that made our project turn out much better than expected. When the time came to do the work, his crew came and worked carefully to minimize messes, were friendly, helpful, funny, and did a beautiful job reshaping the yard to accommodate the driveway-making it look awesome. Everyone on the crew was personable, and my wife and I enjoyed talking to them while watching the progress. After the driveway was complete, they cleaned up any messes, leaving the area better than when they arrived. I am sometimes difficult to please, and rarely am I completely happy. I can think of no negatives and am blown away by the finished product! This is one of the best experiences I have had with a company and I wholeheartedly recommend them for any project!

This is an excellent company and I can't say enough good things about them. In every interaction we had with them from returning our first call, to the appointment to provide an estimate, to the day they did the work, they were prompt and professional. We obtained several estimates and their price was very competitive. When they came to do the work, they called ahead and arrived early. Every member of the crew was polite, the work was done on schedule, and appears to be high quality. I unhesitatingly recommend them.

Bob showed up when scheduled and wife handed him the spec sheet we drew up as how we wanted the work done as her father was in that line of work over 40 years so we knew how we wanted our work to be done. Well Bob stated that my driveway is this and this. And the post on the front porch does not need to be removed and reinstalled. He was their a whopping 5 minutes and needless to say we never ever got a quote. No surprise their as a lot of contractors want to do the work their way or not at all. When we built the house we had the same issue with contractors. We interviewed 17 and only 2 were workable. One of whom we used. Its your house but they want to build it as if it is there"s. Have since found a contractor to do the services required.

They were very professional and timely. No improvements needed.

Foothills was very responsive in all of our communications. They provided precise times when they would be at our home and was always there when they said. The actual work took one day for setup and one day for pouring the concrete. On the day they layed out the sidewalk they decided that an extra step was needed and they added it in with no extra charge. We tried several other concrete companies and they were either completely unresponsive or overly priced. I could not be happier with our service, and if we ever need any more concrete work done I will not hesitate to give them a call.

They showed up when they said they would and took up the flagstone and put in their frames. They had the concrete poured and finished. The steps are uniform and make traveling much easier. Because of the weather they covered everything up to allow the concrete to set properly. I also had them put in some weeping holes in a retaining wall that did not have the proper drains. Again, they came on time and did precisely what they said they would and for the price they had quoted. They also honored the Angie's list coupon as well.

The crew arrived right on time for both the tear up and the new pour. The driveway came out beautiful. Bob and his crew were great group of people and completed the job as promised. I would definitely use Foothills again.

Contacted Bob, explained what I needed done, he came out the very next day to look at the job and offered a more cost effective solution that would provide the same results and save me money. He was professional and honest about the job at hand and the finished product was every bit as good as Bob claimed. The job was started and completed on a Sat. as promised, the gentleman who came out to do the work (Anthony) was very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. I would highly recommmend Foothills Asphalt & Concrete.

I couldn't have been more impressed by this company and I've had a lot of work done around this old house the past few years. I have not had a company like this before. It was like a well organized team. This company was top notch. They came ((on time)) EARLY and went right to work and finished so fast they made it look easy and it has been 100 degrees outside. Really if you need some concrete work done don't mess around I had a new patio to use in 1 day. The next day they came early and put a glaze on it and that was dry by afternoon. i thought the price was fair and got to use a coupon from Angie's list. If I ever need anything else I will for sure call Foothills. They know what their doing for sure. My old patio looks brand new and the new patio matches It perfect. You would never know what was old and what was new! GREAT JOB GUYS, thank you!

It went great! When the job was scheduled, we were given an approximate date based upon the work that they had scheduled before me. The projected date proved to be the exact date that they came to begin the work. The first morning, they arrived exactly at the time they said they would and they immediately went to work preparing the space for the paving. The first day they did all the preparation, including breaking up the old patio section, removing the top soil and putting rock in as a base for the parking pad. they had it framed in and ready to pour well before the end of the day. The next day had rain, so they were not able to pour and finish the concrete until a day later. The finish job was excellent, and before they left, they cleaned up all of their mess, leaving us with a perfect new driveway and patio extension. Bob McCall is the owner and he returned my calls promptly every time I needed him. He kept me informed through the entire process. There is no question in my mind that I would use Foothills Asphalt and Concrete again, if i have a need for their specialty. I also do not hesitate to recommend them to any one needing concrete work. They are efficient, courteous, prompt, and skilled in their tasks.

contacted the contractor first week in Feb. and said he's about 4 weeks out , which was ok . I asked at that time for an estimate which I got on Feb. 15 . but on the estimate it says Feb. 11th. so today 2/29/2016 I called him at 459pm and asked when does he think he could start the job since he stated about 4 weeks out . ( all I wanted to know is it 2 weeks or 3 weeks or 4 more weeks) but the answer I got was its raining where he is and it hasn't rained in east Knoxville for at less 5 days but best of all he could give me any date? really I passed up two other contractors and one was a better price because I felt this gentlemen that came out seemed honest and knows what he doing but if you call him and even if the estimate is good what's the sense in hiring if the work does not get done and you can't get a date. wow I have been on angie's list 2 years plus and wrote about 8 good reviews and 1 bad never a review that I hired a contractor but he cant tell me when he will do the work?

They did a great job. I was told it could be as long as six weeks before they could get to my job, which was okay with me. With the holidays and a week of rain in between still met that commitment. The work was done in a couple days with only one very minor problem that the steps to the garage were too high. The owner came out and corrected the problem quickly. The job was cleaned up thoroughly.

My wife and I decided to replace our asphalt driveway because the surface was breaking down and because we were experiencing a drainage problem that would occasionally cause water to back up next to our garage door. We got several estimates from several highly rated companies on Angie's list and selected Foothills after evaluating all of the companies and their estimates. Bob McCall was, by far, the most professional. He arrived at the time and date promised, explained our options, described how our drainage problems could be solved, and provided a written quote that we thought was reasonable, based on the other estimates. Because of other work he had committed, it took three weeks before his company could begin the work, which was fine with us, because he had informed us in advance when he provided the quote. After we established the date, Bob's crew showed up as scheduled in the morning and spent the day removing the old asphalt driveway (a lot more asphalt than I realized), setting the forms, and preparing the base. By mid-afternoon they were through. They accomplished this without tearing up the yard or leaving a mess. The concrete crew arrived as scheduled, and spent an entire day pouring and preparing the driveway. This crew was also very professional and courteous. They left the property clean when they finished. The completed driveway looks great and drains beautifully. My wife especially likes the decorative border they trowelled in the driveway sides. The price came in exactly as quoted. I couldn't ask for a better experience. Bob and his crew are easy to work with and the end product was exactly as promised.

Mr. Bob Mccall was not responsive after the initial contact. There was always an excuse. We finally gave up and got someone else to do the job. It took 6 months.

Nothing. "I'll give you a call Friday and come out Friday morning to give you an estimate." Friday came and went, no call. No email. There's no reason to use this provider.

Everything went great. It took about about a month for them to get to us, but honestly with this amount of professionalism and respect for the customer, I am not surprised. There were a couple of minor problems with the edge of the patio immediately after the pour, but they fixed them right away, and it looks wonderful. They were also very careful not to let our dog out of the yard, which I appreciated. The water drains perfectly when it rains where they routed it. They also cleaned up very nicely, without me having to tell them to. Great job, I couldn't be happier. They aren't the cheapest company around, but the do fantastic work, and I can't recommend them enough.

Our driveway was 64 yrs old and needed to be replaced! Bob and his crew did a wonderful job and we could not be happier with their work, their service or their price. We would definitely recommend Foothills to anyone who is looking for concrete work....they are the BEST!!

came on time , graded driveway, excellent prep work laid asphalt then rolled it many times. tamped edges and graded edges. overall did excellent job. people where every professional.

I am very happy with the process and outcome working with Bob and his team. He gave me an estimate right away, and we schedule the work. They showed up right when expected, completed the job to my complete satisfaction, and cleaned up everything. They took the time to explain everything that needed to be done. The cost was fair compared to other estimates I had, all in all, a great experience, and I would recommend working with them.

They were the first to come out and give an estimate, within a few days of my initial call and were punctual. He was very nice but I got the distinct impression that he was in a hurry to be elsewhere, which I'm sure he was and that's okay but it left me with a rushed feeling and I had questions that I didn't get to ask as I didn't want to hold him up. That first impression wouldn't necessarily eliminate them nor would it necessarily reflect the quality of the work they might have done but the deciding factor was his quote was for 1 1/2" of asphalt which I questioned would be sufficient but the next estimate also came from a highly rated paver and was for 2" and came in lower by a few hundred dollars and took the time to answer all of my questions and discuss options. While I'm sure he too had other places to be I didn't feel rushed. The lead time was a month longer than Foothills but getting more for less I feel is worth the wait. I would give Foothills another chance to bid in the future but this one went to another company.

Very pleased with the work done. Gravel driveway was graded as well as a ditch along side for drainage. The workman also smoothed out a couple of parking areas.

I called Foothills Asphalt and Concrete to put down some gravel on a rutted driveway at a rental house. They showed up when they said they would, put down the proper amount of gravel and cleaned up after themselves. I've used Bob and his team on three or four jobs over the past few years - everything from tearing out and replacing sidewalks, adding parking pads to a driveway, pouring slabs and now gravel work. Bob is first class in everything he does from the quotation to completion. HIs pricing is fair, his team works fast and are among the neatest contractors I've ever experienced. Most importantly, Bob has a deep desire to make sure you are satisfied with the job. I highly recommend Bob and his team at Foothills Asphalt and Paving and plan to use them again in just a few weeks on another project at my home.
