DUDE ALLISON

I'm not sure how one goes about finding a person to sell you gas logs, and then installs them, but we were lucky enough to get a referral to this fine man. Yeah, I know his name is unusual, and no, he's not a young punk, in fact I think he's actually retired(or is trying to be, but people like me won't let him). Dude came out to our house to look at what he had to quote on. We didn't have gas yet, but wanted to get everything in place before they installed our tank. He quoted us a fair price on the pipe work he had to do, and then showed us the choices we had for gas logs. They would be going into a rather shallow fireplace that had been used to burn real firewood before. After agreeing on the logs and price of installation, he said he would be back in a week when the logs came in(he orders as needed). He showed up on time with some help and worked around me as I finished up some remodeling we were doing. I think the job turned out to be a lot more than he expected(the custom portion)because he had to come out the next day to finish the work. While he doesn't move quickly, Dude is methodical and very conscientious about protecting the space he's working in. He cleaned up after he was finished and spent extra time with me going over how to light the logs when our gas was installed. During our very painful experience of buying a home with so many problems and having to use various contractors with mixed results, Dude stands out as one of the most professional contractors we worked with. A pro from start to finish. Highly recommended if you catch him before he really retires.
