Emergency Services Offered
Services we offer
Our services include tree pruning and removals, insect and disease diagnosis and treatment, stump grinding, and pre-construction consultation. We service both residential and commercial location and specialize in difficult removals.
We had a good experience with Arbor Pro in the past so I called them in mid October and left a message. It took about a week for them to reply, but Bill came out that day (a rain day) to give me an estimate. He spent a lot of time and looked at some of my other trees that I had questions about; he is very knowledgable. Up front he told me that they were very busy and it would be at least three weeks before they could get to my job. I returned the signed contract 4 days later. After about a month I called him again to see if we were on the schedule and he set a date for 4 days later. They arrived as scheduled and completed the work very efficiently.

Like others reviews, Bill never did the work. He did come out and give me an estimate. I told him he was hired, but he never showed up. Over several months I called him 3 times. He returned one phone call, but not the other 2, and never came out to do the job.

They're just around the corner from me. They did a good job and he was very reasonable. He was half of what another tree service gave. It went very good. He looks at your trees and he would diagnose whether it has a problem and I had a question about several of mine and he told me what to do for one thing. They're good and very reasonable. You won't find anything for less. I'd give him an A plus. I don't think you'd find a better price.

Not well at all. We never heard for him again! We've called several times...no answer. We left several messages...no return call.
Description of Work: Bill came to our home and gave us lots of tips and information about our trees, we were given a quote of $225 and told he would return. He called once to inform is he was trying to find a modification for his equipment which would allow him better access to the tree roots.

Found this contractor on Angie’s List. Because of the excellent reviews called to request a quote for tree trim/removal Aug. 5, 2013 and left a voicemail. Contacted contractor again Aug. 9 and left a second voicemail. Aug. 30 finally talked to a person that identified himself as an owner. He apologized for the missed calls indicating possible phone system issues. He took my address and phone information saying an estimator would get back to me the next day, it did not happen. I called again Sept. 7 and Sept. 13 leaving my phone number each time and have yet to hear from Arbor Care. This negative review did not need to happen and would have been avoided if only the contractor had returned my calls. Any of several responses would have been acceptable; provide the quote requested, scheduled a date acceptable to us both, decline the opportunity to quote or to do the work but to completely ignore a customer request by not returning phone calls is inexcusable and unprofessional. I have since had the work by another tree service to my complete satisfaction.

The owner, Bill Hedberg, came out on 8/8/2013 and we walked the property going over all that needed to be done. He assured me that they should be able to save the Box Elders with the wood borers. We discussed which trees needed to come down and the health of the remaining trees. He gave me his estimate at that time. We decided to go ahead and have the work done. However the weather wasn't cooperating and we had endless rain. Once that stopped we set a date for 8/27/2013. They arrived first thing in the morning. Bill introduced the crew that would be working on the trees. After verifying what work needed to be done the crew got to work. They took down the River Birches without damaging the house or a Green Japanese Maple that the trees were growing near. They also had crew members treating the Box Elders for the wood borers and fertilizing the Elm trees. Another crew member climbed the Box elders and took out all the dead wood. They took down the Ornamental Cherry also. All the while other crew members cleaned up the area and chipped the trees up. It took several hours in increasingly hot weather but they kept going. After approximately 4 hours they had all the trees cut down, cleaned up the dead wood in the Box Elders, all the trees were treated and the area totally cleaned up. They referred us to another contractor that took out the stumps and roots later that day. We are extremely pleased with their work. We have several acres of land with a lot of trees and won't hesitate to use their service again. Update: We have since used their services again to do Spring trimming of numerous trees and shrubs. Once again we are very pleased with the work they did. They are very professional and knowledgeable. We are very pleased to have found them.
Description of Work: We had two very large River Birch clumps that had been planted very close to the house. They were damaging our roof so they had to go. We also had 2 Box Elders with wood borers that needed treatment, several Box Elders that had dead wood in them that had to be cleaned up. We have 4 Elm trees that we in need of fertilizing and aerating and a large Ornamental Cherry that had black knot disease that needed to also be removed.

Went very well. I have used Arbor Pro in the past, and this was the same excellent experience. I am very pleased with Arbor Pro and the work they did for us. They responded very quickly, were easy to work with, and handled the tree removal quite professionally. They worked efficiently and were conscientious. They took extra steps to ensure that all debris was cleared from around the vehicle so that the wrecker would have easy access for towing. As a bonus, Bill and his crew were personable and supportive at a time when we were a bit traumatized (having just survived a rock slide and a tree falling on our car).
Description of Work: A large tree fell across the cab of our vehicle while we were driving on a rural road near my home. We needed to have the tree removed from the top of the cab so the vehicle could be towed. Bill and his crew from Arbor Pro were wonderfully responsive, prompt, courteous, and professional. They responded as quickly as humanly possible (they were on the job within an hour of contacting them), were capable, and did everything they could to make a bad situation better.

No work done after we came to an ageement so Lousy as far as I'm concerned.
Description of Work: I contacted Mr. Hedberg on 9-6-2012 for some tree work and stump removal. He came out and gave me a price and I thought I hired him and told him to go ahead and do the job. I was told he would be out in the next 10 to 12 days if possible. Three weeks later I called him and told him I would like to remove another tree along with the other work we agreed upon. He said he would be out that day and look over the additional work and call me. I have not heard from him since then and that has been over two weeks ago. I can only give him an F as what he told me and what happened are two different things. He wasted my time and I still have to find someone to do the work. F F F Mr. Hedburg.

Arbor Pro has done work for us several times in the past from falling and removing large trees, pruning, removing trees damaged by storms, and brush chipping. Mr Hedberg was punctual with his visits for estimates and very explicit with the work to be done. In the past he has offered a range of services, including removing tree trunks or just cutting them for me to split / remove myself to save money. For this job we planned on pruning but he also spotted a stressed oak tree in the front yard and assessed its condition. He emphasized it would likely last a few years but was obviously having issues and thus could be removed now, or later if needed. We decided to have it dropped and removed. He also offered to chip additional brush at no charge if I would stack it neatly near the job site. Due to his service he will often juggle jobs to get his crew in and out in the least time possible, and as storms happen sometimes other jobs will get higher priority. As a result he came out a few weeks later than originally estimated, but always contacted me and let me know this was going to happen. (On the plus side, as a regular customer when an emergency arises he has stated he will give me priority.) The crew got the job done efficiently and removed the tree quickly, did all the pruning and brush chipping, and cleaned up very nicely. He also dropped a small dead tree in the back (roughly 6" thick trunk) at my request.

We will know more in the spring, but I am hopeful.
Description of Work: As others have indicated, Bill Hedberg is knowledeable, professional and wonderful to work with. We have three large maple trees that were in trouble and we feared we would have to take them down. He has given us hope that we can save at least two of them by removing the girdling roots and fertilizing them. It was and will continue to be a pleasure to work with him. I will say he was very busy during the storm season and getting him out here was a wait, but well worth it.

When Bill came out to give me an estimate, he made a written list of everything I wanted done. He told me of his background in forestry and education. He estimated that Arbor Pro would be out within two weeks. Well, it rained and rained and other customers were ahead of me so two weeks turned into four. Once they were here they worked like beavers and were done with the whole job in two days. The only problem, if you could call it that, was there was a misunderstanding about a particular piece of shrub removal. We discussed this and decided on a trade off of one pile of brush for another. One thing I would do differently next time is to specifically mark stuff that would be easy to mix up or be sure the contract specified any peculiar characteristic of easy-to-confuse jobs. The Arbor Pro people are very nice to work with and do an honest day's work. They'll be back when I need more work done.
Description of Work: Arbor Pro cut down three aging white pines at the roadside that were breaking and threatening to topple into the road. Also, cut down three huge white pines in back of my daughter's house (on my property) that could easily have fallen onto the house during a bad storm. They also cut down a giant 80 foot dead tree. They also cut down several dead trees along the driveway that were a threat to my neighbor's old barn. They did a lot of miscellaneous cutting: cutting low-hanging limbs, intrusive limbs, a few smaller dead trees, and pruned a treasured apple tree so it won't grow crooked anymore. They also ground up several piles of brush. All logs were hauled away and small stuff was ground up. They did not leave a mess like some forestry people we havehad.

It went as planned, on time and with efficiency ,as before. The owner always calls ahead to double check it the time is still doable. Then, calls again the day they are coming. Comes on the day of service, goes over the written job plans with the home owner and his foreman of the crew. When all is in aggreement, the work begins. The crew is very respectable regarding the property. The foreman will stop and talk with the owner if a concern comes up. The clean-up is good. This is an outstanding business owner and crew......I will use them next time (again) when the need arises.
Description of Work: I have used the Arbor Pro Tree Service before.....for an even bigger job. This time the crew came (after the owner, Bill, makesthe initial visit and determines tree needs with the customer). I had a tall pine tree top (1/3) snap from the last windy storm. It was removed, the tree shaped and then 5 other pines were "topped" and shaped to match all highs, to prevent other tree topsto break off due to wind. As before, the friendly and respective crew come, do thejob according to the job description as written, work carefully respecting property, haul off and clean up. This same company has done tree work at my daughter's condo......which was a major project. What I especially like about this owner and hiscrew......the owner has a college degree in Arbor/Tree design (not exact major ) and is very knowledgeable so that he isvery clear (good communication skills) about what the needs and final outcome will be. He always comes out with his crew on the day of service, goes over the job description sheet with his crew manager and with the home owner. Then when the job is clearlyunderstood.....he leaves and his crew does the job. The crew manager welcomes any questions even during the job. When the job is completed, the crew manager talks with the home owner (if home) to make sure the job is satisfactory. I would recommend this owner company to anyone! Their prices are very fair, but sometimes a bit lower from otherestimates. For sure, a customer will not be taken advantage of. This owner has high integrity , from my experience with usinga variety of home service companies.

I contacted two tree services for estimates on trimming three trees on our property. Arbor Pro's estimate was $300 less than their competitor, and they assured me that they could trim our Bradford pears WITHOUT removing sections of our fence in order to bring equipment onto our property (which the other company insisted must be done). That was a major concern for me since I was highly doubtful that a large section of fence could be removed and replaced without damage to the fence. They showed up at the scheduled time, trimmed and shaped the trees to my satisfaction, and thoroughly cleaned up all branches, leaves, etc. Bill even gave me some handy tips on caring for my shrubs while he was here. I will definitely contact them later this year to trim the holly tree that is growing uncomfortably close to my satellite dish.

Bill was just fabulous- He worked it out to meet me the next day after contacting them for an estimate. And while doing just the estimate, recommended some DIY jobs to help the health of my trees and bushes. I had 2 other estimates, and Arbor Pro was in-line with one- and much lower than the other. I was concerned that one of the trees I was having removed was leaning could potentially fall. After a storm occurred after the estimate, I was afraid that the tree was leaning more and might be a danger to fall at any time. Bill took his personal time to come out and look again and make sure it was still safe. How awesome is that! After the job was complete, the work areas were spotless. Everything was removed as promised, and I couldn't really tell they had been there, except maybe the areas were even cleaner than they were before. The only little issue was it did take some time after accepting the estimate for the work to be completed. I was probably overly anxious because I was concerned the tree might fall, but they had promised me it wouldn't. As a small job, I realize they were trying to fit it in on a day that they might finish another job early. The day they did complete the work, the contacted me ahead of time, and came first thing in the morning. Arbor Pro was great value, and great to work with. Thanks Bill!

I had a wonderful experience with these guys. The price was very reasonable, about half of what it should have been. He is very professional. Bill is the owner, and he went to the University of Tennessee for his undergrad and they have a really good agriculture program there. He is so well educated and I learned so much about my trees, but he is so down to earth and very accommodating. You could tell that he loves the trees. He saves the ones that can be saved but the ones that are too sick he will cut down. He advised me wisely. The price was phenomenal. They did such a good job. They did exactly what they said they were going to do. They were ants in my yard and did it all in one afternoon.

I would add that each of the two companies mentioned above gave me a written estimate with details as to the job. The third company (Hancock Tree Service) had no written estimate.....seemed to pull the $ amount "out of the air". Each of the company owners returned my call (or answered their cell) and made app't times for estimates soon thereafter. That was a plus for all 3 companies.
Description of Work: I had two large pine trees cut down and removed (no stump removal) along with cutting several smaller, lower limbs on other trees to shape or ease weight on privacy fence. Also, more extensive thinning was done on a Japanese Cherry Tree. Six men arrived with the owner on the day and time that the owner said they would be at my house. (He called the day before they came.) The owner is very professional and knowledgeable, having a UT degree in Urban Forestry. I especially liked that the owner introduced his crew to me.......one person at a time by their first name, after which we each shook hands. That's a first in my experience. I complimented the owner on that courtesy after the job was finished.. The owner told me it's a double benefit.....it puts a name with a face for me and also puts a home owner face with the crew.....putting the work on a more personal level. The owner told me he stresses with his workers that the property on which they work is to be treated and respected as if it was their own property. The owner went over the written contract with his crew supervisor and me, walking around my yard to point out all the tasks to be done. The owner was clear to the crew supervisor that I "was the boss" about branches trimmed and for giving the final approval for job completed, as to property cleaned. The owner then left to do job estimates and the crew worked hard to complete the job. The job took under 4 hrs... a break included. A couple of the workers had to remove a section of my privacy fence (my suggestion) to aid in taking the tree trunk pieces & brush to the truck chipper. I requested carefulness with the fence as it was old. They were careful in taking the section down and putting it back again when the job was finished. I had three estimates (which is normal for me when using new companies) for the job. Arbor Pro was only slightly lower than Action Tree Service but Arbor Pro could get to my house sooner. I feel sure that I would have been satisfied with Action Tree Service also. I have recommended, however, Arbor Pro to do the work in my daughter's yard......much higher trees that are next to electrical wires, making it more expensive. In addition, other smaller trees/shrub cuttings will occur.

I was very impressed with Bill's honesty. I was prepared to dish out $2000.00 to have the tree cut down and he could have agreed with me when I said I thought the tree was dead and go ahead and cut it down.
Description of Work: I have a huge oak tree in my front yard that has several dead limbs on it. I called on a Saturday to get an estimate of what it wouls cost to remove the whole tree because I thought the whole tree was dead or dying. Bill answered the phone and advised he could be at my house in fifeteen minutes to give me an estimate. He arrived in 15 minutes and looked at the tree, including a large branch that had fallen. He surprised me by advising that the tree was not dead and did not need to be cut down at that time. He said the tree had been struck by lightening several years earlier and showed me the evidence. He also said the tree was fighting a oak disease that was able to get ahold of it due to the weakened state the tree was in from the lightening strike and the drought of last year. He advised that the tree was "putting up a heck of a fight" and there was a good chance it would survive and he felt like next Spring would tell if it would make it or not. I told him I was concerned about the dead branches falling on someone and he wrote up an estimate of what his company would charge but advised that I could find a handy man type that would be much cheaper and would be able to handle the job. He also said his rate would drop drastically come Fall. The rate he quoted was $500.00 to remove all the dead brances. I am waiting until fall to call Bill to come out and take care of the dead branches.
