VERCHOTA FLOORS

Verchota did a beautiful job of blending in the new flooring installed with the old flooring where the kitchen floors join the flooring in two adjacent rooms. This is the second time we have used Verchota and once again the job was done with great care and extreme neatness.

I have used them in the past. As it was then this was a very positive experience way. Very responsive,dependable, reasonably priced, and great quality work. Everyone with whom I had contact from Ann to Russell to Willie and Bobby were very friendly. Wille and Bobby were very respectful of my furniture and other belongings even moving my live Christmas tree with great care. All was put back as they found it

It was a nightmare from the beginning till the end. Was told they would wrap every thing in plastic which they did not. They left an inch - inch and half of old stain around the fireplace, kitchen island and under the counters and put finish on floors before completely stripping all the old stain off our floors. My white door frames were also left with the dark stain around the outside. They restripped the floors (3) more times and still could not get the floors correct. They were in my home for 3 weeks and we had to stay in a hotel with our dog. Contractor had to replace them with another company. I have never left a negative remark about a professional before but please don't put yourself through what we endured. Three weeks of sanding was another nightmare to remove.

This actually goes back to 2013. I was not going to review, but later events said it was the appropriate thing to do. Received proposal to install bamboo floating floor and to refinish stairs to match new floor. Their proposal was not the lowest, but we let their Angie's List rating influence us. During installation, they dented the refrigerator door. I discovered it - the workmen did not mention it - but, to their credit, Verchota replaced the door. We started having buckling of the floor; I called Verchota to come back to repair. It continued to happen until Lawrence Verchota refused to send anyone back. Actually, several of my calls had not received a call-back and I had even gone down to the shop in Madison to talk with someone. We hired someone to make repairs ($440); he said he was limited in what he could do because the floor had not been installed properly - there were insufficient expansion allowances and transition joints, plus there were some nails driven into the floor, both during installation of quarter round trim and, apparently, during follow-up repairs. We finally hired a company this year to pull up the floor and re-install it, gluing it down. They were able to salvage a good bit of the floor, but we still had to purchase additional flooring for that which could not be salvaged. Total cost was over $5000. To Verchota's credit, their workmen who refinished the stairs and landing did a wonderful job. I would give them an "A". However, either the floor workmen did not know how to install a floating floor (we did not state it had to be floating, but they said they did) or they were careless. We see the reviews Verchota has received since then, so perhaps the issue was that they simply did not know how to install a floating floor; however, they also did not make any other recommendation, such as about gluing.

In Feb 2015, I sustained water damage to my hardwood floor in the kitchen due to ice damming. I searched Angie's List for a good and reputable hardwood floor company that would repair my damaged flooring. I quickly found Verchota Floors to be at the top of the list. I contacted them and spoke with Ann and asked her if someone could come out and give me an estimate to repair the damage. Ann was very friendly and professional and within a few days, Lawrence Verchota came to my house and provided me with a written estimate. Lawrence was very friendly, punctual and professional. He told me that they could replace just the damaged floor and that there was no need to replace the entire hardwood floor. I also received estimates from two other hardwood floor companies and Verchota Floors had the lowest estimate of the 3 flooring companies. After contracting with Verchota Floors to do the work, they ordered my hardwood flooring and once it arrived in shop, they scheduled my repair with a few weeks. On the day of the repair, two workers arrived on time and within 2.5 hours, they had my old damaged floor removed and the new hardwood installed. These guys did an amazing job and the floor looks great! These guys were very friendly and professional and they cleaned up all the mess left behind from the repair work. I would highly recommend Verchota Floors to anyone looking for a good, friendly and professional hardwood floor company.

Awful. A total waste of an entire week after being told installation would take one day and then sanding and staining would take another. They did not show up when they said they would two days in a row. On the second no show day, after the entire job should have been completed, I was told they were sent to the wrong job. I would not recommend them to anyone just based on the lies and total incompetence it took for them to finish the job they started.

I called in January for an estimate. Mr. Verchota came out and provided a written estimate. I called him a few days later and scheduled the floor repair for February, and he said the stairs would be a two day job, so we scheduled it for March. They brought the hardwood flooring out a week in advance, so it would have some time in the house before they repaired the floor. They sent 2 workers to do the floor repair. It was done in a day as promised. The workers were very fast and hardworking, and cleaned-up when finished. The floor looked great. I did not have them refinish it because I will be doing more floor repairs later and will refinish it when it is all done. He did match the floor very close, so you can hardly tell the difference even though the original floor is about 15 years older. On the second trip, for the stairs, it took 2 days instead of 3. I may have misunderstood because painting was done the third day. Either way, the same 2 workers returned. It was just like the first trip. No problems and good cleanup. They were polite and courteous. I did also speak with his office several times. Sharon was very helpful. I plan to use them again.

Everything went well with the refinishing job and our floors look beautiful. Every contact was professional and helpful - Sharon was our office contact, Larry and Gary did the refinishing, and Matt was the estimator. Verchota's prices are a little higher than some of the competition, but the process and final results were well worth it. Selection of the stain and finish were done at the house - the refinishers painted samples on the floor so we could see exactly what it would look like. Larry and Gary were outstanding - knowledgeable, courteous, neat, and careful. I have several friends who recommended this company to me, and their experience was also excellent.

I was a little nervous getting this big of a project done on our house, but Verchota had come highly recommended from a trusted friend. And they did not disappoint. I interviewed three other flooring companies, and although Verchota was mid-level in price, but chose them because of their reputation and long history of being a family run business here in middle Tennessee. I found them to be true artisans in the craftmanship, and quality of work. There a reason Verchota has been doing floors for 100 years, it's because they are that EXCELLENT. It's a family run business, and fairly small, each part of the crew works on the site pretty much the whole time so you don't have a lot of different workers. All the painters, installers work for Verchota and are not sub contractors, but long time employees, which to me was very important. My project took about 2 weeks and I ended up moving entirely out of the home so they could complete it start to finish. David, is an awesome installer- very sweet, knowledgeable, and extremely hard worker. Matt is the project manager and helped to answer questions, address concerns and schedule each different phase of the project. What a doll. I opted for the non-prefinished floors, stained dark walnut with polyurethane finish and they are beautiful! Just what my old house needed. So glad we waited and got this done to our house. Absolutely worth the investment! I couldn't be more pleased with my new hardwood floors and I would highly recommend them to my friends and family.

These are the ONLY floor people I would ever use........they were wonderful!! My floors look great and are perfect for my pets!! They moved all the heavy furniture. (I moved the small stuff.) They removed the carpet from the floors and premises. They always cleaned up after themselves before they left each day. I have 7 cats/ 2 dogs and they were able to work with me concerning my large number of pets, litter boxes and cat trees. EVERY worker was knowledgeable, thoughtful and worked very hard. I picked up felts pad 1" (suggested by Bobby) and he and Alberto put them under heavy furniture so the furniture would not scratch the floors in the future........how considerate!! They use a sanding containment system which really traps the dust!! I was suprised how well. There is essentially no dust so you do not need drapes or anything. You will not be dusting afterwards.The sanding equipment is loud, however, so be prepared for that. You will want to be in the other end of the house during sanding. The stains and urethane dry fairly quickly for walking (2 to 4 hours)but longer for moving furniture back. Because of my pets, we used a commercial polyurethane (3 coats) semi-gloss. I wanted something which would be tough for all my pets. This is an excellent, dependable company.........I wholeheartedly recommend.

I can't say enough good things about this company. Not only did they give me the best price, they were very prompt to come to give the estimate, and always on time for all the demolition of our old flooring and carpeting, which was VERY hard work. The floors look wonderful. They were very nice people..placed all our furniture back where I wanted it. SO impressed with them!

This company is top notch. Very punctual and professional. Cleaned up after themselves. Worked on weekends and completely accommodated our crazy schedule. Floors are stunning now and we had almost nothing to clean up afterward. Just a tiny bit of dust here and there. The last time I refinished my floors (myself), I was cleaning up sawdust for months. Price was more than fair for what we received. This is one of those things where you get what you pay for. They could have upsold us on additional work but instead offered options to make it more affordable. Highly recommend you use Verchota.

They were excellent. The stairs were beautiful, and they matched the old stain for me. They were so accommodating. The technicians name was Matt and he worked 3 weekends to get the floors prepared for my arrival. They did an excellent job. Very nice and very accommodating. I went with this company because they were so accommodating.

The refinishers that did the job were great, both Chris and Raoul were professional and worked hard to provide a great looking floor. To tell you how good the floor was done, I had a competetor in for different work after the floor was done, and they commented on how nice the floor looked. Chris went over and above as my wife and I were "decideing" on the color of the floor refinish. Chris stood in our entryway with my wife and I for 30 minutes, reviewing different color and color mixes he would apply to the floor. He was light hearted and worked with us to find the exact color we wanted. I would use this company again.

He was very professional. He gave us a great price. We plan to schedule them to work on our floors this fall.

We set a start time/date and they were punctual. One or two details remained, but within two weeks every single item was addressed professionally. At first it was hard to contact them, but they had been referred by a very trusted finish carpenter, so I kept trying. Their price was a bit higher than some but now I know it was worth every single penny. There were four different kinds of oak and their stain-master, Bobby, worked diligently to match the recently-purchased gunstock flooring. We moved out while the work was in progress and they worked tirelessly and late to get us back home quickly. The Verchota's and Bobby were totally respectful and professional. We did our part by covering some light fixtures and removing drapes and gathering furniture in a room away from the work: we wanted to make it easy for them so they could work quickly. I believe our prep work paid off in mutual appreciation. After each work session they cleaned up. I am so glad I went with Verchota. Recently I've heard they're the most respected flooring company in Nashville.

Floors look remarkable!! cant stop looking at them. The crew was fantastic, really great group of guys, who clearly take pride in their craft and clearly have worked together for a long time (no temp workers or part time contractors). Would not hesitate to encourage others to use them! Very responsive to initial calls to schedule an estimate and then to schedule work. There may be cheaper companies out there, but we did not feel that we were paying too much, especially given the very high quailtiy of work and the extra mile that they went for us!

They were excellent. Their price was reasonable; it was worth it. I liked that they were on time. They finished when they said they would. The workers were polite, and they did a good job.

I thought the gentleman that gave me the estimate was professional. He was on time. I would have loved to use this company, but I thought the price was expensive. I would consider using this company if the price is right.

Did a wonderful job! The floors are beautiful. They even worked through a weekend to stay on our schedule. Would definitely use this company again.

I had already received 2 bids on this job and was about to go with one of these until I just happened to hear about Verchota and looked them up on Angies List. As soon as I met with Lawrence I knew it was a no-brainer to go with them. From my first meeting with Lawrence Verchota to discuss this large job, throughout the entire process, the job was about meticulous attention to details and doing the job at the highest level of quality. He knows and understands hardwood and how to do a proper install from years and years of experience and that is the type of expertise I wanted for this job. Matt in the office kept me informed when there were delays in receiving certain items and they all came out on the weekend to keep the job moving as quickly as possible. Through numerous discussions and samples of the stain, Lawrence and the entire team was focused on making sure I got exactly the right look I wanted. This company is quality to the degree you don't see much anymore. I have honestly never had such a positive experience with someone doing work on my home - the others always seem to lose patience with going the extra mile to deliver the finest quality product or service. Not so with Lawrence, he is just as much a perfectionist as I am and was so patient and service oriented through all my requests Verchota went the extra mile in making the process of totally refinishing our entire main level of our house as painless as humanly possible. I wish other businesses would take a lesson from this style of service and top notch quality. I had a great experience with Verchota, you will not regret going with them!!

Fast response, best estimate, hardworking, and on time. Final price was the same as the original quote. It was a pleasure working with Bobby and Mr. Verchota.

great. we have used them half a dozen times over 15 years. consistent quality - guaranteed. you have to tell them what you want - or else you will get one of the usual 3 standard treatments. but if you ask for an opinion, or explain what you think you want - you will get expert advice. lawrence jr is the king-daddy now, and his cousin, or nephew, chris is the rock and roll prince of hardwood sawdust.
