I would not suggest hiring this company. We recently purchased a home in August 2016. We had DE HILL come out to do an inspection of the AC and Heating unit. They advised my husband and I that the Freon is leaking and that its a pinhole leak that they COULD NOT find. They proceeded to add 2 pounds of Freon and told us that the unit was good to go! Just recently we noticed that the heat was not heating well so I called an unnamed source to come out to check it out. He said the Freon is still leaking and that he has located the leak. We told him that DE HILL came out to do the AC and Heating inspection before we bought the home and what work was done. He was in shock that they did not repair the leak and that they added Freon to a leaking system. Come to find out, that is illegal and is posted on the EPA website as section 608 of the Clean Air Act. My husband and I wanted to give DE HILL another chance to redeem themselves. My husband called DE HILL and the receptionist, whom is not very nice, placed him on hold when he asked to speak to a manager. She got on the phone again and said she was the manager. When my husband was talking to her he said " when you placed me on hold" She denied it was her and said it was someone else. He asked her if there is anything she can do for us. He explained the situation in detail and also added the info about the EPA. The woman was very rude and said they DO NOT do refunds. They said they would come out but we would be charged. She kept saying that the information about the EPA is not true. I wanted to for warn potential customers of this company. I will also be contacting the EPA in this matter as well, then maybe they will understand the laws and regulations.

Description of Work: I was having some trouble with my unit cooling so I went in and bought a thermostat. I asked could I return the item. They said only if you never take it out of the sealed box. So I bought it. After tinkering around with my unit a few days I decided to get it fixed. It was beyond my expertise. So I stopped back in the ask to get my unit fix and return the unopened thermostat. The owner said we don't take items back. The item was never removed from its sealed box. More words were said and he took the new thermostat from the box, threw it across the room and it broke against the wall, tossed my refund on the desk and was told to leave. That I did.

Description of Work: Our central heat/Air unit had a noisy rattle every time the furnace came on, and seemed to be getting worse. So since we were covered with an American Home Shield service contract I placed a service call through AHS. Through my American Home Shield contract I was first assigned to another company, but their response and follow up was terrible, so I contacted AHS to let D. E. Hill & Sons to finish the work since the first company was so bad. The service tech from D. E. Hill & Sons came out the first day, analyzed the problem, and they brought out the new fan motor the next day! Ironically, the other company finally called and said they had the part that same day - 12 days after their original visit. I told them to stuff it.

The central heat/AC system was making a rattling noise that got worse. We called them for service and the technician was available to come out the same day, which he did, and he fixed it right away. We are very happy with this company.
Description of Work: Replaced a noisy fan motor. The technician was prompt, knew exactly what was the problem, and fixed it right away. He had the correct part in his truck and did not need to make a second trip. The unit has been working fine ever since.
