Armstrong was awesome. Ray and Doug on the office side were great to work with. The crew was fantastic - ask for Joshua, Trey, Nick, and Caleb. Dudes worked hard, everything was loaded and unloaded with no damage. Would recommend them unconditionally.

I moved interstate from Tennessee to Florida, and they were phenomenal. I did not have anything damaged or lost. I liked that they kept me up-to-date on everything that was done. When they were coming and when things were being moved, I knew what was going on and when it was happening. I did not have to call them for any reasons. They were ahead of the game on calling me for everything. Their price was pretty competitive, and everything they told me, they did.

They arrived on time. The loading went fast at first, but do to summery hit, things slowed down a little bit as the day wore on. I helped unload at the new address. Four hours to load from a 2000 sq ft home. They did all the heavy lifting and packed and padded all furniture well. No damage. One team member asked too many personal questions, such as why moving, the cost of certain items, etc. Just disregarded. When unloading, one team member, of the three, kind of disappeared and did not unload, only folded blankets and then just disappeared. But with my help with lighter stuff, unloaded in two hours. The time and hourly rate was exactly as quoted. They also skipped a lunch break to get it down. Overall, considering it was one of the hottest days of the year, everything went well. I will use Armstrong again in the future.
Description of Work: This is the second time I've used this company to move my household belongings locally. I had everything already packed, so it was just load, go, unload.

This was an excellent job.
Description of Work: Anderson Moving provided the service to move two households (and combine them into one) from Baton Rouge Louisiana to Murfreesboro. I have had more than a half-dozen moves in my lifetime and without a doubt this was far and away the most professionally handled. They did an outstanding job. To be accurate, all of the service, including the people who unloaded the truck in Murfreesboro, were from Baton Rouge and had ridden with the driver from Baton Rouge to Murfreesboro.

Packers in Fairfield Glade, Tn. were 1 hour late in arriving from Nashville, then took 1 1/2 hours for lunch. As a result move was not completed until 7 PM that evening. This made for a long and stressful day as we also had to drive to Nashville where we had an appointment with our builder early the next morning. Our major complaint with Armstrong was that they broke 2 valuable table lamps because the two large ceramic lamps were packed together in one packing box. This was clearly a negligence on the part of the packers. Because we had turned down their insurance, they turned down our request for replacement and sent us a check for $18.00 to cover 90 cent per pound, the weight of the lamps. Our point is why should we pay for insurance for Armstrong to protect our goods, when they should be reponsible for their own insurance. Armstrong examined the lamps, which were damaged beyond repair. Armstrong would not admit to negligence on their part but referred instead to our refusal of their insurance.
Description of Work: Armstrong moved complete household into storage in Nashville in 9/08. Moved out of storage to our new location 5/09.

Response from Armstrong Relocation Co
We acknowledge that by accident two ceramic lamps were broken while in our care. However, our original estimate offered an inexpensive remedy to insure that such damages would be covered in full in the event that such damages occurred. Of course, we are VERY disappointed that we damaged the lamps and that our customer’s perception of our overall service is now considered to be less than satisfactory. Yet, testimony from our crew members and all file documents signed by the members clearly demonstrate that we performed all that we promised and that our actual charges were well below our estimated cost. On 3 documented occasions we offered and they declined our offer of full replacement insurance, which would have cost them only $315.00 and would have paid in full for any damages. The members returned our original invoice with a handwritten note telling us, “covered by my home owner’s insurance”. They lined out the insurance charge on the invoice. Yet we paid $150.00 as our goodwill gesture to repair the only damaged piece of furniture, with no premium paid by the customer. I submit that our crew did do everything promised and in an excellent and timely manner to serve them. Specifically, in a single day they drove 275 miles, arrived at 9:30 a.m., within the 9:00-9:30 a.m. time promised, packed and loaded this FULL household, eventually located a suitable place to park their huge van and eat lunch (1 hr 15 min), and still complete the job and leave their empty house by 6:30 p.m. They arrived back at our warehouse by 9:00 p.m. and all were back to work by 7:00 a.m. the next day. That’s a LOT of work completed in a short period of time. It is unreasonable, irrational, and unkind for them to threaten us with complaints to your fine organization, the Better Business Bureau, and the Heritage retirement community, when they had multiple opportunities to accept our offer of and pay for proper insurance to protect their goods. Our original estimate included our nominal fee for insurance but our offer was declined. In conclusion, Armstrong-United Van Lines is a well known, well respected company who has served Middle-Tennessee families and corporations for over 34 years. We have moved over 40 families without incident or complaint into the Heritage at Brentwood complex where they now reside. The Heritage refers their residents to us because they interviewed and selected us over other movers in the area when they first opened their facility 3 years ago and their residents have given us outstanding reports. While we respect their right to file these complaints, we reserve the right to decline their demand that we pay them for coverage they knowingly and repeatedly declined. We do thank you, Angie’s List, for giving us opportunity to respond to this complaint with the true facts regarding our service. Moving is always a traumatic and laborious process and accidents can happen even with the best of crews. That is why we always recommend take advantage of our inexpensive insurance to remedy such situations if or when they occur. Unfortunately, they made a poor choice in their effort to cut corners. In hindsight, their net monetary loss is only $250,, which is the difference between the cost of the lamps and the $315 insurance premium they declined to pay. Thank you again for allowing us to respond to this complaint. Sincerely, Jerre Richards, President (615) 793-9333.

This is a super moving company. They arrived exactly on time and I felt they were eager to do their best for me. The two guys who came were very professional and very careful of my belongings. Nothing was broken or damaged in anyway. They charged a very fair hourly fee.
Description of Work: They moved all of my household belongings 30 minutes away and made 5 stops along the way. We did the packing and unpacking ourselves.
