WOW! Internet, Cable and Phone

Fine. The price is more than I was hoping. The installer was great.

Went with this company after experiencing frustrations with Comcast. Wow's customer service has been exceptional, both over the phone and during installation. The only problem was after a year of service, the rate went up from $30 a month to $60 a month. I was not told when I signed up that it was a promotional rate. When I called, the lady gave me a $10/month discount. I would prefer for companies to be up front about pricing.

I have been with WOW for two years (formerly Knology). My only complaint is that from time-to-time I lose the internet connection and although it usually returns in short order, there is never an explanation from them as to why I lost my connection. Otherwise, I believe that their package represents a good value. Even though Comcast offers a better deal for the first two years, their prices double at the end of that period.

The repair man searched the house until he found the issue and fixed it. The total time of the service was around 3 hours and there was no charge. I felt like this was above and beyond their responsibility especially since there was no fee involved. The phones have worked great since.

Wow! had made several attempts to get me to switch Internet and Cable providers. After my AT&T Uverse bill jumped over $100 after the 1 year promotional period ended I decided to give Wow a try. The salesman was professional and attentive when I called in. The installation went smooth and the employee punctual, polite and professional. After the installation I immediately noticed my internet speed was dramatically slower. The router puts out such a weak signal that if door to my office is closed you immediately loose the signal to most wi-fi devices in the house. I would rate the cable as OK to subpar. I continue to have minor issues with picture quality. When calling Wow I usually get put on hold for about 8-10 minutes before speaking with a representative. They are always polite. The issue I have is that the first technician claimed no one was at home. However, my wife and I were both at home during the scheduled call. I rescheduled my appointment only to be told that the technician did not have time to complete the necessary work. He advised us that we needed to reschedule. In conclusion, Wow! has left me thoroughly unimpressed. From large,oversized, poor quality, equipment to Internet speed reminiscent dial up Wow! just does not deliver. I am seriously thinking of getting a new provider after just two weeks.

The cable is decent. We have DVR with them and that’s good as well. The internet service is bad. It is very slow. The initial surge is good but after you get half of the first 10 or 20 megabytes, if throttles back considerably and you only get about 50% of what their advertised rate is. We called the customer service and have dealt with them numerous times on it and they typically blame it on network issue and they have not been able to resolve it. If it ever gets resolved, it will go back again. It’s an ongoing issue. At one point. Iwas working late at night and it actually slowed down to where it was almost dial up speed. We’ve gone through with the new routers and tried everything that we can and they still can’t get the service in the area that I’m in which is 2 miles from their office. I’m not at the house enough that it makes a difference or that it matters to me. The issue is whenever I come in to town, it’s frustrating. The service I have is actually a part of a bundle and it was cheaper to get the telephone than it was without it. The price is average.

I am always booting up my modem and router because there is always some problem, and it is very annoying. I have discussed it with them, and they say that our router is old. They are OK for the price, and we are on just a year’s contract, so I may change my mind in November. The phone service is OK, and one thing I like about the cable TV which I didn’t have with the satellite dish, is the DVR, I can record TV programs that I might miss because I was watching something else.
