 + -1 moreInitially, there was a miscommunication between me and their service team. I expressed my displeasure with the situation, and they went above and beyond to rectify the problem. They apologized, and then they completely won me over with their desire to make me a satisfied customer. They came out immediately and completed the work. They gave me an unbelievable price. I had to leave the plumber alone for a large part of the time. He completed the work, left no mess at all, and completely locked up my home before he left. I would highly recommend Winkles, and I plan to use them in the future for any plumbing needs that I have.

 + -1 moreThey did not do anything satisfactorily without a fight. Replacing the sewer line and they had to repair plumbing in the crawl space, it was $3100. We really didn't have any other estimates so I would say the price was average. They need to improve on all those things they got a D in. The job was terrible, our front yard is still a mess. They said everything would go back the way it was, and it never did. The sidewalk's a mess, we had leaks, I mean it was just pitiful.
Description of Work: They replaced the sewer line and they were supposed to repair a hose bib.

 + -1 moreIt didn't. I contacted them on a Monday, was told that a plumber would be out on Tuesday. He never came, and I did not hear anything from the company. I called back on Wednesday, was told they didn't know what happened and that "Mike" would call me. He never did. I understand that plumbers sometimes can't keep on schedule because they don't know what they will have to do until the assess the job. I would expect a call from the company at some point to apologize and reschedule, but I never heard from them. I believe they had both my home and cell numbers, and both of those phones have either an answering machine or voicemail.
Description of Work: Needed two leaks repaired, one below a bathroom sink, the other in the kitchen, of undetermined origin.

 + -1 moreThe other plumber scheduled got called away but they showed up with two (2) other plumbers Kevin and Bob. They replaced faucet as it was dripping inside faucet and cheaper in long run to replaced and NOT repairs. They also replaced the hot water shut up valve and added plastic gasket and metal gasket to create a better seal. My handyman changed it out but not a long term stolution. They way they did the plumbing it is a perm. long term solution. If I continue to not fix I could have had a hot water pipe burst and could have cost thousands in water damage. Why I chose Winkles Plumbing. Quality work at affordable price. I tried others but they do NOT have the plumbing expertise. I been a homeowner for over 13 years. Many plumbers talk but only a handful of plumbers know how to really do the job.

 + -1 moreMike was very professional. He determined what was wrong and thought he wouldn't be able to come back until the next day to fix it, due to his schedule. I don't know what he did to make it happen, but he called after he left and said he would be back in a couple of hours.
Description of Work: Dug and replaced pipe to the septic tank. Very courteous and went above and beyond to help me. They also put my yard back where they had to move a bush and some cement blocks. I highly recommend Mike. He was very professional.

He spent an hour working on getting a good solder and dealing with the ongoing trickle of water. He was great, personable and very professional. His work fixed the problem and I couldn't be more pleased. Thanks Robert!
Description of Work: During my remodeling of the bathroom, I inadvertently messed up a water pipe coming out the wall. I tried to fix it but because water continued to trickle out of the pipe (even though the water was shut off at the streetside meter) I was unable to get a solder to work. I called several Angie's list plumbers. One wouldn't be able to come out for 3 days. One didn't answer. Winkles Plumbing responded.

water heater repair
 + -1 moreSee above. Additionally, Robert, failed to return any telephone calls to my contractor or to me after Wednesday (4-6-2016). Crappy service. Unknowledgeable employee. WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN.
Description of Work: I contacted Mr. Winkle on Tuesday morning (4-5-2016) regarding my tankless water heater not heating the water. He happened to have an employee that was two blocks over so the employee, Robert, came over and looked at the problem. Without checking the outside of the house, he told me that the unit was installed incorrectly as it needed at least 3 feet between the intake and outflow/ventilation pipes. I had my contractor who installed the unit via his subcontractor plumber to contact Robert. However, before they connected, Robert had contacted Bosch, the manufacturer of the unit, and told them the installation was incorrect. Because of his actions, Bosh would not honor the 25 year warranty on the unit and would only offer me a discounted unit. However, Bennie Yardley of Yardley plumbing came out on Thursday, April 7, 2016 and inspected the unit and found that the install was correctly done and that the yearly descaling my fix my problem. He descaled the unit, however, the problem was a crack in the heating unit that the water flows through. This crack could not have been caused by the install or even scaling build up, which my unit had a minimum amount of. It was problem just a "lemon" of a unit. Now, thanks to Robert, I have to fight with Bosh to get them to reimburse me the cost of a new unit. Luckily, I am an attorney, and found not less than five lawsuits involving manufacturing defects in the same Bosh model that I have. It may take forever, but I will get the replacement cost out of Bosh.

They were really fast when getting back in touch with us after our panicked message about our flooding house, and showed up when they said they would. The guys were very nice and explained everything they were having to do and why. After searching for an hour to find the leak in the ceiling while digging through insulation, they were fixed the problem very quickly and cleaned up the mess the leak had caused. Very reasonable price for the work they did. Very happy with them! We will definitely use them again.

 + 0 moreI was cleaning our shower and had removed the drain cover for cleaning. I knocked one of the plastic shower hooks used to hold a hair cap off the wall and it went down into the drain. After attempting to hook it with a coat hanger wire, I called Winkles. The receptionist took my information and said one of their plumbers would call. I received a call within 3 minutes. Amazingly, the plumber said he would be right over. They were there within another 10 minutes. They used the drain "snake" and confirmed that the plastic hook had gone completely down into the big drain and would cause no further problems. The 'snake' brought out a huge accumulation of hair, which the plumbers promptly bagged up in a garbage bag and tied for me to dispose of. They then charged me only $85.00 even though the normal cost is $125.00 for a visit. Wow, what prompt service. I will definitely use them again if I need plumbing. 5 STARS!

Since it was a day following a long weekend, Shane took care of a couple of emergencies for other people first. He arrived late afternoon and went right to work. Within an hour every thing was taken care of and waste water was flowing free. Shane is very professional and personable and I will not hesitate to call him again if needed.

 + -1 moreThe initial contact with Winkles did not go well as I did not hear back when I was told I would. However, after I called them the next day, Shane the plumber called to set up the appointment within an hour or so. On the day he and his helper were on time and were professional and courteous. They thoroughly inspected the garbage disposal and determined that it needed to be cleared. Shane also recommended that the disposal was just about at the end of its life cycle. The leak in the laundry room sink was going to take longer, so arrangements were made for them to return the next morning (Saturday). They purchased a new faucet system and repaired the leak. Ultimately, they did not charge for the clearing of the disposal.

 + -1 moreThe work was done as agreed, promptly and satisfactorily. The owner had his staff are all very friendly, honest people, and they came highly recommended by a friend. Final clean-up of the yard was delayed for nearly two months, mostly because of snow and other rough weather. A call to the owner resulted in immediate removal of PVC pipe that had been left, and they seeded and put down straw over the bare area left where they had dug a trench in the yard for the pipe. We were very happy with the work and would certainly call them again.
Description of Work: Installed new main sewer line from house to street and installed 2-way clean-out at the house and a 1-way clean-out near the fence.

 + 0 moreAfter a week of mopping up water that should have gone down the drain. I gave up and called a plumber. The first plumber told me they might work me in next week. Then I called Winkler Plumbing and spoke with Shane, the owner. When I started to explain my problem, he ended up telling everything that I couldn't explain. I asked when he could get to me and was told that be would call me back. In less than 30 minutes I got a call telling me he was on his way to my house. Since I was at work he called to tell me that they would have to go through the vent on the roof to find some sort of clean out plug. They found it and had to dig down about a foot in the front yard to get to the plug. Got the drain cleared out and then reset a commode that was leaking. WONDERFUL PROFESSIONAL SERVICE.

I have no familial or other relationship other than being a fortunate customer. I have had nightmares with some other plumbers reviewed on this site. One tried to charge me 900 dollars to install a pressure reduction valve that was leaking. They are rated B but I would put them in the F range.

 + 0 moreOn his first trip, the repair man tried to fix my sewage shredder in it's original set-up. The problem was that the unit was not level in the barrel and the misalignment was too great. It blew apart in the same place the next day so the repair man came back and had to hard-plumb it in. The second visit took care of the problem.
