Description of Work: I had winkles come and evaluate a leak in my crawlspace. The person they sent looked around for a few minutes and said there is “no plumbing leak.” I then had to call an AC company to evaluate if that’s where the leak was coming from. No leak there. Finally a month later after a ton of research and searching for the water source on my own, I had to call my friend in construction. He came out, had his guys look in the crawlspace and whaddyaknow, there was a plumbing leak above some ductwork that the guy from Winkles missed. My friend’s team fixed it that day. I called Winkle’s to get my service fee of $50 back. The receptionist said she would have to talk to the owner. It’s been a week and I haven’t gotten a call back. It was poor service that ended up costing me a good chunk of time and money, then they wouldn’t give my service fee back. They dropped the ball on this one. Wouldn’t recommend.

Description of Work: My garbage disposal was leaking, and I had inadvertently turned it the wrong way to tighten it and dislodging it all together. Matt returned my call immediately on Thursday and set an appointment the next morning. Matt knew exactly what I had done, fixed it, made sure there was no leaking by running water in the sink, turning on the disposal thereby, again, checking for any leaks. Perfect!

Description of Work: Repiped house. Never on time. Worked a couple of hours, lunch for sometimes 2 hrs. Would leave by 2:00. On cell phone. For 13 hours work took 4 days. I hope the work was done well, have a lifetime guarantee. Also, had a tool missing from our garage that was used by us before work started, not there when work was done. I hope this was a honest mistake. This has been 3 months ago.

+ -1 moreThey actually came out fairly late, I am sure it must have been inconvenient for them. They were able to send the guy out at 7O’clock at night and that was awesome for us because it was kind of an emergency. They did great. He was professional and he could do more than plumbing. We were able to use the coupon and he was okay with it. He did not have a flash light or a ladder with him, since he had just come back from another job. He took care of the issue and he did not try to up sell on anything. Basically he did the job. Really we did not think it was worth $130 to replace one little pipe that would cost nothing but he did come out. We have had other guys come out for plumbing to work on hydro flow or something. Actually I did call them to come out and do some other work but they did not respond.
Description of Work: We used Winkle's Plumbing to replace a pipe in our garage that had busted.

+ 0 moreWhen I bought my garbage disposal the people that installed it from Lowe's did a horrendous job. I started to notice there was water on the floor in the kitchen. The pipe on the sink was loose. I tried to tighten it myself and it wouldn't connect properly. The parts were not satisfactory. When Winkle Plumbing came out they brought better parts and fixed it. He responded quickly and the quality of his work is great. He fixed it in one visit.

He came over and diagnosed the problem and offered to replace and reconfigure the piping under the sink to correct my drainage problems which were caused by a pipe that was sloping the wrong way, and also to reverse the hot and cold which were on the wrong sides. He came back the next day with a replacement faucet of the same quality as the old and malfunctioning one and did the job. The work was excellent and I found him easy to work with. The price was very fair also.
Description of Work: I called because a coil hose under my kitchen sink was leaking. I also had a chronic problem with slow draining sinks.

+ -1 moreI found a leak in a water line in my crawl space. I consulted Angies List and decided to call Winkle's Plumbing. The were able to come within 4 hours after calling and capped the pipe in about 10 minutes.
Description of Work: I had a leak in a water line to an outside faucet. Winkle cut the pipe and capped it off.

+ -1 moreThe quality of work performed was good and the price was good. However, Winkles Plumbing advertised on Angies List that it accepted payment via credit card. When I wanted to pay with a card, I was told I would have to call Shane Winkle, the owner. I called and e-mailed regarding the matter but received no reply. I received a bill. Eventually, Shane called one evening and explained that he had to set up a new account for credit cards and asked for my number. By that time, I had already mailed a check. The lack of communication and the way this was handled was frustrating. To his credit, Shane did apologize for the mix-up and offered to provide a discount on future services.
Description of Work: 1. Replaced old faucet on bathroom sink with one I had purchased (plumber provided 2 new flexible hoses). 2. Removed section of old cast iron laundry pipe in basement and capped off remaining pipe, as requested. 3. Provided and installed new hose bib for outdoor frost-free faucet. $225 labor and $120 parts for a total of $345.

Description of Work: We clogged our kitchen drain after dinner on Christmas. I called Winkle the next day and because of snowy roads he could not come out until Monday morning. He showed up early in the morning and got right to work. The clog required a lot of snaking and he was able to get our drain cleared. He tightened up the faucet for us too. We also had a problem with the water temperature regulation in both of our showers (I was certain we'd need new cartridges, which can get expensive). Fortunately, he was an honest gentleman and merely made an adjustment, fixing the incorrectly installed cartridges.

Description of Work: Pipe started leaking between floors. Lance replaced the leaking joint pipe and repair the downstairs ceiling in three different trips to refinish it. Can't even tell it was repaired. Also, took care of a couple of small odd jobs at the same time.

+ -1 moreI have an old bathtub in an older home which needed a new drain to be installed, I was attending to my husband who was under hospice care at the time and unable to devote much attention to the job but it was done with extreme efficiency, very little questions that needed to be answered and quickly. He had to go into crawl space to installed new pipes as well to allow drainage quicker. The result has been outstanding, drain flows VERY quickly and no more slow drains. One paper towel cleaned up a smidge of mud left on the tub and there was no other cleanup that I had to do after he was finished which was also great. I WILL be using this plumber again I feel he is very honest and I have been more than satisfied with his job.
Description of Work: Old drain in bathtub needed to be replaced with a new drain.

+ -1 moreIt took a couple of phone calls to get them out to look at problem. Cut hole in ceiling and pinpointed problem immediately. Came out next day and got work done in 4 1/2 hours. I thought that the original estimate included fixing ceiling, but was only for plumbing work. They are willing to come back and fix ceiling for additional $700. I'm thinking I can get it done cheaper elsewhere. This may have been my fault at not getting estimate in writing up front for everything. Overall, they were very professional and did a top notch job.
Description of Work: Removed 50 year old galvanized pipe that was leaking through ceiling into basement. Installed new 2" PVC kitchen drain line through cabinet and floor with vent. Installed approx. 10 feet of 2" PVC overhead in basement ceiling.

+ 1 moreThe Winkle brothers have done two jobs for me and I recommended them to a friend whose pipes froze on cold weekend. The quality of the work was excellent and unlike other plumbers I have used, they do not rip you off. Their prices are fair.
Description of Work: On one job a pipe developed a leak between the first and second floor of my house and was visible on the ceiling on the bottom floor. They fixed the leak and he returned a second time to make sure the finish on the ceiling was completed so that you cannot tell that he replaced a square foot of the wallboard. The work was excellent quality. This was the first job I had them do and its been a year now and the fix is still good. I have since used them to fix a leaking toilet.
