Bob came into my home and within 5 minutes was making misogynistic, anti-LGBTQ and anti-women comments. Unbelievably unprofessional! Take your business elsewhere!

Volunteer Mold worked for the sellers of our house two month before closing to fix a mold problem that surfaced during the home inspection. Several other companies agreed that the mold in the home was coming from the crawlspace, and believed that encapsulation/sealing was the answer. Unfortunately, encapsulating would cost $7,000+. The sellers chose a different company, Volunteer Mold, to handle the problem with a cheaper solution. I spoke with the manager of Volunteer Mold, Bob Byrne, over the phone, and he was very patient while explaining that encapsulation was an extreme solution. He explained that the problem was that mold was not sufficiently removed 7 years ago when there was an incident of water intrusion in the crawl space, and that by remediating and improving circulation, the problem would be solved. He was professional over the phone, and by the end of the conversation, he had me convinced that his solution would work. When we purchased the home, the mold and the musty smell were gone. 6 months later, it was back and we are we are now having to encapsulate/seal our crawl space. Volunteer Mold has a page on their website for home sellers and offers to help them fix their musty mold odors. I believe that his solution was not intended to fix the issue long-term, but to help the sellers get rid of the problem temporarily in order to sell their home. Ultimately, his expert recommendation for our crawl space did not work, and after the sellers spent $3000 to "fix-it" for 6 months, we are left to pay an additional $7000 to truly have it taken care of for the long-term.
Description of Work: Made recommendations for fixing mold problem in the crawl space. Cleaned joists, treated crawl space with antimicrobial, and fogged. Also added vent fans.

I was not satisfied with their work. They seemed like they were always in a big hurry to leave. They preferred that I wasn't on site when they were doing the work.
Description of Work: We were contemplating purchasing a home, and this inspector looked at the home.

With both inspections, Bob was completely professional and courteous. In both instances, he provided all of the detail that we could have asked for, and since we were at the inspections, he provided additional information related to the HVAC/Electrical/Drainage (we aren't the handiest people, so this information was valuable to us). Bob's reports were clear and easy to read, and we will recommend him to friends.
Description of Work: Bob performed (2) home inspections for us. The inspections were both on (2) story homes, one with a basement and one with a crawl space. Bob explained to us exactly what he was look for with each inspection, and explained some things that we should be aware of with each house (more detail than went into the reports). We received both a summary and a detail report on each house.
