Rod and Rob were excellent. This was by far the best moving experience we have ever had. They arrived on time, wrapped furniture to keep drawers and doors secure, and followed instructions perfectly. They had no problem moving a large bookcase that barely fits through the doorway. We ended up needing to move several additional items than we had planned for, and they were happy to do so. I looked in the truck after it was loaded and everything was securely strapped and padded. The unload went smoothly as well. They placed everything where we wanted it and were happy to move things again when we changed our minds. We are sometimes uneasy about paying by the hour but these guys were very fast and they got a lot of work done in a short amount of time, so the final price was very reasonable. We will use Two Men and a Truck in the future and we will request Rod and Rob also.

They lost poles to my Queen Anne's antique bedroom suit. I wouldn't use them again. They didn't even call back to let me know whether or not they found it.

This happened two years ago, but since I'm a member here now, I thought I should share my story. I called and talked to the owner (Jason) who was very pleasant and quick to schedule me in which was great. So far so good. However, I had to everything moved per the contract at my apartment that day and Jason told me his guys would be there at noon. 1:00pm rolls around and I give him a call back asking if they are on their way. "Yeah, they got held up at another job and are on their way now." I said no problem because I know this job isn't exact. However, they weren't on their way. I called once an hour to make sure they were coming and was continually told, yep they are leaving now. They showed up 6 hours later. When they arrived the poor guys were so tired, hadn't had lunch according to them and were stuck helping me move until 11 at night. One was so wore out, his arms just collapsed and he dropped a dresser so hard it broke the furniture and cracked my newly finished hardwood floor and the sub-floor beneath it. He was terrified because he knew he would be fired. I apologized and told him I would need to contact his boss to discuss it. Plus, I signed a contract with them in case this exact situation happened. Well I called, I let him know about the broken furniture and floor, and when I asked why they showed up 6 hours later when he...the owner himself, told me they were on their way, he literally began cussing me out. Seriously, you show up late, break my furniture, damage my home and have the gall to cuss me out? I told him that this is no way to do business and his response was and I quote, "I know how to do my job. It got done didn't it? If you don't like it then you can go..." You can figure out the rest. My wife, a couple of friends and myself were amazed. I was holding the phone a foot from my face and everyone could hear him screaming at me for breaking my stuff. Well he was nice enough to tell (by tell I mean scream and cuss) me I didn't have to pay for anything and he didn't want my money (so I didn't give him any), but I told him I still had a signed agreement to replace damaged furniture and fix and damage caused. He refused even with a signed contract and finally had to break down and send someone out to (poorly) fix my floor. Well clearly I posted bad reviews. He had an employee of his stalk my social media pages to have them shutdown, including my Google reivew, my Facebook page, even my LinkedIn page showed "Brittney Ortiz from Two Men and a Truck has recently viewed your profile." This went on for weeks. His own employees told me how many time he treated people this way, how awful he was to them and how he didn't give them breaks and treated his customers. I told them I was sorry they had to work for him and tipped them $100 each. I then reported Two Men and a Truck to OSHA, the BBB and the City of Knoxville. This is a company that takes no personal responsibility. The owner is an angry and violent person, who does not show any sort of business ethics and the work they do is terrible. I'm sure the owner will get on here and give some poor excuse of a story to cover his dealings or say how obviously I am lying about the service provided. I got people to back me up and who have told everyone about what they heard, and more importantly, even he knew he had to cover the damage to my home. I am however still stuck with a broken dresser due to a broken contract. Shame on you Jason.

We were extremely pleased with Two Men and a Truck. The price was quite literally thousands of dollars less than the other two walk-through bids we received. Jason worked with us on price as well - which we so, so appreciated. All of our stuff made it to our new home without issue. The guys were prompt, and we even had 4 (instead of 2) guys loading up for the cost of 2. Jason and Erin were very communicative, and easy to get in touch with. The only minor issue we had was that our movers didn't reassemble all the furniture, but this was minor -- especially considering the lower price and how great Jason was to work with. I have and will recommend this company to anyone in the Knoxville area who is moving either in town, or out of state.

We signed a contract with a fixed price bid and was told we would have 3 movers. However, only two movers were assigned to our move. They were very courteous and friendly. They looked around and informed us that it would take two trips - which was not expected. (We were lucky to have a fixed bid which they honored). The move took 10 hours plus. Although the movers were extremely courteous, the reason I am writing this review is that my very nice wood furniture got completely beat up in the move. They used very few furniture pads and tied ropes so tight around my bedroom suite (all nice wood), they left rope marks and damaged corners and such. Since the move took soooo long and was exhausting for us all, I didn't notice the damage to my furntiture until the following days (you know how crazy moves are). I KNOW my furniture was not scratched because it is almost brand new. My mistake is I didnt check the furniture before the movers left. I did call Two Men and a Truck main office and filed my complaint. The person in charge (Jason) was supposed to call me back but he has not. All in all, I had my wooden dresser, bed frame, drawers, and end tables damaged in the move - scuffed, knicked, and scratched. I would love to rate this company high because they were so friendly but their lack of care in moving my belongings (as well as not returning my calls and ignoring my complaints) is the reason I want to warn people of this company.

Overall Review: The hourly fee was in the middle of the field of quotes I received. Office staff were polite, professional, and helpful. I was able to obtain the exact date I desired to move. I hired a 3-man team that was the most professional, polite, considerate, hard-working team I have ever hired for a move. The move was complete in 5 hours, which was actually faster than expected. Up to this point in the unpacking process, I have yet to find a single damaged item. There were two small marks on the wall of the staircase (no dents), which were clearly and easily removed, and which is nothing short of a miracle. Overall, the experience exceeded my expectations and was by far the most positive moving experience I have ever had. Extended Review: Prior to moving, I did extensive research about various moving companies and was absolutely appalled by the shady practices, companies, fees, etc., associated with the moving industry. Because of this, I feel compelled to submit a thorough review of my experience, in hopes that it might provide some help to those of you who find yourself in a similar situation. I originally called approximately 2 weeks prior to my planned move-in date to obtain a quote. Although I had some flexibility, I was able to obtain the exact date that I desired to move. I obtained quotes from 4 other companies in my area, and found that the price quoted by Two Men was in the middle price range (some companies were a little less, some more). In considering the price, it should be noted that the only charges were for the destination fee (a flat fee to take their truck from office to home, home to apartment, and apartment back to office, which was charged by each company I contacted) and the hourly rate (charged at 15 minute increments for any partial hour) - there were no charges for wrapping/packing materials (e.g., to wrap a sofa or mattress in shrink wrap and pad in blankets), which some companies charge as an additional fee, among other "things". The office staff was polite, professional, and helpful during each conversation - original quote, set-up services, confirmation of moving date and time. The 3-man moving team called me approximately 15 minutes prior to arrival and arrived exactly on time. We did a tour of the old home, and the team immediately got to work. When the old home was packed up, again the team asked to do a tour of the house once again to ensure that they had packed everything and had not left anything behind. We headed immediately to my new apartment - no breaks - approximately 7 miles across town, and again, we started by taking a tour of the new apartment, with the team asking where and how I wanted items placed. The moving team had developed an incredibly efficient system of moving items up 2-flights of stairs unlike I have ever seen. Even though I was paying for their services, I actually felt a bit guilty that these guys had to go up and down stairs over and over, but several times throughout the day, the team said things like, "Ma'am, it's perfectly okay! We are here to serve you, to make your move easier for you. And we're used to it [as they smiled]!" This may seem like a insignificant thing to report, but in the past, with other moving companies (or for other's opinions, just look at some of the reviews from other companies on this website), the movers regularly, and vocally, complained that there were "too many stairs, too many boxes, too heavy furniture," etc. The Two Men moving team certainly could have been thinking these things, but they certainly didn't stop smiling, being polite, or slow down at any point during the entire move. They worked non-stop the entire time and maintained a refreshingly positive attitude from start to finish, even smiling and laughing up to the very end. I was impressed by the teamwork of this group and what felt like a seamless transition from my old home to my new apartment. Finally, while I have not comleted upacking yet, I have yet to find a single damaged item. There were two very small marks (not dents), one on the wall of each stairwell that easily and cleanly wiped off. Being that there were 2 flights of stairs, both with narrow stairwells, and a home full of heavy furniture, I find this nothing short of a miracle. The move was completed and the movers on their way to their next job in 5 hours, which was actually faster than expected (every company I called estimated 6-8 hours, at least). I have hired other moving companies in the past to facilitate moves, both locally and interstate, and this was by far the most positive experience I have ever had with a moving company, hands down. The office staff both upon initial contact and in later confirmation discussions were polite, professional, and helpful. However, overall, I strongly attribute the success of my move, my evaluation of the experience, and my future recommendations based specifically on the team of movers that completed my move. By far, the 3-man moving team from Two Men was the best team that I have ever hired (based on moving approximately 8 times in the last 15 years). I would absolutely recommend this company, and specifically, this team, to friends and colleagues, and will very likely use this company (and hopefully this same team) again in the future. As a side note about packing: there were several things that my moving team told me that I did that really "helped them" with the move, in terms of speeding up the process, ensuring the safety of the contents during transfer, and making loading and unloading easier for them - boxes were securely packed, but more importantly, securely taped - they did not have to re-tape a single box. Every box was clearly labeled, which they commented on numerous times as being perhaps the most helpful of all: each box had one large, clearly visible label with the destination (e.g., master bedroom, kitchen) and a brief list of contents (for my benefit, not really theirs) on one side, as well as a small label on each of the other sides and the top of the box listing the destination, so that no matter which side you looked at the box, you saw a label with the destination (room). Each room had a color code. This may sound a bit obessive to some, I'm sure, as it does to me as well. However, I just happened to come across color-coded labels with the rooms pre-printed at the store while picking up packing supplies - these labels (Avery Brand, 50 labels per box, $3-4/box, bought 3 boxes but had many left over labels for next move) were very convenient and actually cheaper and much better looking that the labels that I would have come up with on my own, and perhaps most importantly, the labels clearly stood out on the box - no time wasted trying to figure out where this box goes. In addition, I labeled boxes as "Heavy" or "Fragile" when applicable with neon colored labels (Avery Brand, 72 labels per box, $1.50 box, bought 2 boxes but had many leftovers), which the movers stated they keenly observed, packing the "Heavy" boxes at the bottom, and the "Fragile" boxes on the top, to prevent accidental breakage of the contents. I had moved most of the boxes to a single central location in the front of the house, with the "Heavy" boxes at the bottom and the "Fragile" boxes at the top, mostly because I packed over a span of a few weeks and wanted the packed boxes to be out of my way. The movers said that this dramatically cut down on the time it took to load the truck, and all of the labels really stood out to them, much more so than just writing on the side of a box. Finally, prior to moving day, I sketched out the general floor plan and where I wanted the furniture placed for each room - I did this because I was worried that my furniture wasn't going to fit into the new apartment, and wanted to know ahead of time instead of finding this out on move day. When the moving team asked where I wanted furniture, I just showed them the floorplan. They were thriled that I actually thought about this in advance. I realize that these may not be perfect packing/moving tips, but the movers commented on them so many times and my move this time was so successful compared to past experiences that I thought it may be worth passing along to those of you who are getting ready to start the dreaded moving process.
Description of Work: A team of 3 movers loaded, moved, and unloaded my personal belongings from a one-story home (approx. 2000 sq ft) to a three-story apartment (approx 1500 sq. ft, 2 flights of stairs) with a garage in each location. I had already packed all items, except furniture, Start to finish, the move was complete in 5 hours.

The arrangements went quickly and agreeably, the crew arrive on time, worked well and finished We were pleased with both the movers and their job. The move was from the address on Caracas Rd to the address on Glen Meadow Rd.
Description of Work: We needed help moving the large items (sofas, washer & dryer, frige, and several other items) of our house to our new residence. We contacted 2 Men and a Truck, gave them an item list and got a price quote and an agreement was reached. Their truck and workers showed up on time and were a great team to have working for us We had more than what was originally bargained for and it was handled without any problems. We felt that these men were very good, showed good respect for our property, and were not as epensive as we had originally thought. I will definately look here again when we have moving to do again, and do recommend them when asked.

I would say it went very well overall. I was pleased with the move and the final cost. The three young men (Nakia, John, and John) were very nice and worked hard all day to get us moved. I had gotten a qote from another company that I did not hire and am sure it would have cost a lot more than this company charged me. They were even stopping to put furniture pads on the legs of furniture as they went into the house at my request (since my hardwood floors were recently refinished). Still, all was done in 6 hours time, including having stopped and placed part of the belongings in another storage building location in Oliver Springs. If I had to move again (not planning to), I would use them again.

As with my first move, everything was absolutely excellent! These guys know what they're doing, and in spite of the fact that they charge on an hourly basis, they really hussle like crazy, while still taking the proper care and precautions with your belongings. I can't say enough good about them (having used a certain family-based company that starts with the letter "M" and being massively ripped off in a prior whole house move). I won't consider using anyone other than Two Men and a Truck for all my moving needs from now on. Thanks to whoever runs this company for providing excellent workers and excellent service, something that is unfortunately very rare these days. Two Men and a Truck are the best!

.Never never ever use them. They steal from you. I would have been fine if I would have just gotten an apology and responsibility for what happened but they didn't. They way I know this happened is I had some work done and was given pain pills which I had not even taken and the dumbys took them all but one pill. They left one in the bottle. Now I probably wouldn't have even remembered if they had taken the whole thing but they left one in the bottle and I knew I had not taken any. I know others that have had the same problems with them. So no I would never use them again.

Our experience with them was okay. They moved the stuff pretty carefully, but what I didn't like is that they started nickel-and-diming at the end of the day because they estimated two trucks and one day to move everything and they started going into like overtime and they wanted me to pay for it. Of course, I just wanted to get moved. They raised their estimate and I paid an extra $1000 to get them just move everything, so I didn't like that very much.

The two men were great. We moved our entire two-story townhouse across town into a two-story home with one truck. Nothing was damaged and they did not waste any time. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking to move.
Description of Work: Moved 2 bedrooms, 1 dining room, 1 living room, 25 boxes across town.

I liked the fact that they didn't dabble. They are paid by the hour but they were very efficient and fast.
Description of Work: We used them when we moved into our current house.

They boxed up a lot of things. I had a lot of collectibles and things like that. There were family heirlooms and paintings, things like that. They moved it about 400 miles. They had it here in 2 days in my storage unit.
Description of Work: We used them for moving.

The price was good. They were here when they said. They were prompt, and the wait time wasn't bad. They were here when they were supposed to be. Two of the guys were really good. The other guy wasn't so good. He actually put a nick in my wall with a headboard for my bed.
Description of Work: I used them for a moving job. They loaded me up in Florida and unloaded me up here.

Moving just doesn't get any better than the Two Men and a Truck (3 in this case!).
Description of Work: Moving can be one of the most stressful things a person can do and especially if you are not moving under good circumstances. My previous move had been just terrible with the movers complaining loud and long and then, after the truck was packed for the 5 mile move, they simply disappeared for 3 hours. Then, when it came time to total the bill, they insisted they were going to add to the written estimate I had received in person from their estimator. I was mortified. Then this move was required for health reasons and I purely dreaded having another bad experience. I checked on Angies List plus I had my sister and a friend/co-worker both recommend Two Men and a Truck. I called them on Monday, 2/13, and the very efficient and pleasant Elizabeth booked the move for between 9-10 a.m. on 2/14 and went over all the fees with me. I later followed up with Brittany to be sure all was confirmed and going as planned. Sure enough, at 9 a.m. on the dot, the moving truck pulled up in front of my house. I was introduced to the team of Cody, DiAngelo, and Kevin. Cody went over all the details of the paperwork with me. My furniture is very heavy and large, but they just went at it in the drizzle and chill. Everything was wrapped in clear plastic and further protected with cloth mats. If the fellows had any questions, they asked and did whatever was required. About 3+ hours later, everything was in my house, beds put back together, and each piece of furniture placed just where I wanted it. Everyone I interacted with at this company gave top service at competitive rates and nothing they told me varied when the bill was totalled. If you want movers who know how to do it, get yourself with the team of Cody, DiAngelo, and Kevin. Call them. Trust them to take good care of your belongings and to deliver what and how they say they will. I sure will!
