Charlie nd Kenny showed up on time and ready to work. They did a great job, in spite of some issues that arose which were unexpected by all of us. They adapted to a difficult job with professionalism and good spirits and completed a beautiful installation of our new stair rails and banisters and made short work of installing the new mailbox perfectly. We really appreciate the effort they put in on our job and will definitely be asking Premier to work for us again if we have other work for them to do.

The work went very well. We had arranged for the work in late fall when it was too cold to paint, so we arranged for the work to start in April. The workers showed up exactly when promised. The deck was repaired and re-painted and screens were replaced. The deck is now safe to use, protected and looks good. We would hire the Premier Handyman again.

I have used this company several times and am referring a good friend to them. They are courteous, helpful and willing to do anything needed. I highly recommend them, and they are perfect for those smaller projects you need done where it is difficult to find resources to do it for you. You should call these guys!!
Description of Work: I needed them to hang shelves and mirrors, etc. They replaced wall light switches and reinstalled a smoke alarm.
Charlie and Kenny are a great team. They updated our 70's style den and foyer into a modern living space. They arrived at the same time everyday, worked all day, and completed the job in the number of days they were scheduled for. They were very good to discuss everything with us to make sure they knew what we wanted before doing the work and they told us that their main concern was for us to be happy. Not only did they complete the work that was originally planned, they through in some extras along the way. We had a garbage disposal that needed repairing and Kenny did the job for us while he was here at no extra cost. We were about to pay a plumber $400 to come out and do the repair. I couldn't be happier with these guys. We have already got them scheduled to do more work for us in May. They will be my first choice for future home improvements.

TERRIBLE. When Corey came to estimate the job he said it would be 6 wks before he could do it. I agreed to $90/hr for 2 men, which he estimated three 8hr days. He said I would get more work out of 2 men coming than if 1 came alone because they can go faster when working together. I took a week off of my job, for this job to happen on his schedule. On the morning of the 1st scheduled day, a Monday, 1 man arrived, almost 2 hrs late. He said the 2nd man was in the hospital from a severe cat bite on his hand. Corey came 1 hr later and said the 2nd man might come the next day to work on the arch and backsplash. (I did not understand how the man would be able to do tile and drywall work with 1 hand, but I assumed that if he didn’t come then Corey himself would come to do the job.) When I asked about the fee of just 1 man that showed up, Corey said, "Don't worry, we'll give you a discount on just 1 man." He said he would call me the next day to work out what to do about the backsplash and arch if the 2nd man couldn't make it. The 1 man came for the 3 days, total 22 hrs. First he installed the sink and disposal and then started on the electrical, which was to move several outlets on the backsplash wall and check a few others in the kitchen and dining area that were possibly not working correctly. After some time of checking the questionable ones, he said he needed more time, another day, to get into it for further investigation. I was ok with that, assuming Corey would schedule him to come back and complete the electrical job. I also had the man install a few shelves for me additionally, in the few hrs remaining at the end of his 3rd day. When the 1st man came the 2nd day, he said the 2nd man was having surgery for the cat bite and would not be coming that week at all. I said I expected Corey to call me to work out when he could get the backsplash and arch done then, or to come and do it himself. The man agreed that Corey should call me about it. I felt Corey should have called me, not me calling him, but he never called the next day nor throughout the entire week. On that Saturday, I called him and left a voice msg. When he did not return my call, I texted him and politely said if he didn't want to do the backsplash and arch, then at least call to let me know when the 1st man could come to complete the electrical he was working on. He did not call. The next morning, on a Sunday, Corey texted and sent an invoice for $1002, and said, "Let's catch up Monday," and "Don't worry, we'll take care of ya about the backsplash and other thing." He did not even ask how the work of the 1st man went; he did not care about that at all, just money. It was obvious that he wanted me to pay the invoice before talking to me, and he wasn't planning on doing the other work at all. His wording sounded like he thought of me as a distant relative and might do me a favor. When I looked at the invoice, I noticed the extra $30 for a “standard service call fee.” During my 6wk waiting for this job, I had hired Corey to send his 2 men for a 2hr job to install a wall oven. That job went okay and I paid him for it at the time, but I looked back to that invoice and noticed an extra $30 “standard service call fee” on there as well. I also noticed on the $1002 invoice that he charged $55/hr for 1 man. All in all, his overcharges came to well over $300, and then he gave me a $300 discount for my “patience.” He overcharged to cover the fake discount, and gave no real compensation for my patience, inconvenience, the time I took off for my work, and he did not offer to make an alternative plan for what he did not do. My credit rating is 820 and I pay whatever I owe anyone; I am very fair. Since I did not get the “more work if 2 men came” discount for the 1 man that came, I did not believe I should pay a full half of $90 for the 1. I wanted time to study the invoice before paying anything and I took 5 days to do that. I subtracted the two $30 extra fees; I thought I should pay $40/hr for the 1st man’s work, not $55; I added the materials (which, according to a receipt I found later, he overcharged me by $40 for as well); off the total, I gave myself the $300 discount that he said he gave me. I paid him a total of $582.60 through Paypal. HARASSMENT. When I did not immediately pay him, on that Monday, he began harassing me by 3 phone calls and 2 or 3 texts every day. He was not calling about a discussion of work AT ALL, but only the invoice. By Wednesday, he was threatening to take me to court, and said if he did that, then his fees would way go up and he would include his attorney fees. This man did not even consider that if a person does not immediately respond, they could be having some sort of emergency of their own; it was as though he was choking me to get money out of me. I did not return his calls or texts because he sounded very unstable; I did not want to get into any discussions with him whatsoever. He had no business professionalism at all. After I paid him on Friday, he left messages saying if I didn’t pay the full bill, he will take away the discount in court and his bill would be even higher. He also said that, “he always charges $55 for one man, ever since he was in business.” He never said that to me when he said he would send 2 men for $90. On the following Monday morning, he called and said I had until 2:30pm to pay up and then he was on his way to the courthouse. He said he’d settle out of court for $300 more but I never paid him anything more, and that was the last day he called or texted. I should not have paid him as much as $582 either. A few weeks after, my new garbage disposal backed up. I hired a licensed plumber who had to make 2 trips, $150 total. He found the problem right away. Corey’s man who installed the disposal did not install a necessary “studivent,” (an air vent). Without this, the disposal was not pumping the waste and water out properly. (This disposal was new; the house did not have one before.) I had purchased only the disposal and I had no idea that it would need a pump. When Corey agreed to the job, he said he or his man would know what necessary piping and accessories he would need to get the job done right. The plumber also showed me where he put a grommet in the hole around the electrical wiring to the disposal because the man did not do that either. Over time, the wiring could fray from the vibration of the pump. DO NOT HIRE THE PREMIER HANDYMAN. He is dishonest, unreliable, unqualified and unstable. I had to put the backsplash and archway off until another time now.

first I'd like to apologize for your experience. Secondly, I'd also like to know that after I sent you the email with the invoice attached you followed by paying a amount that you chose to pay by yourself. After I sent the invoice you cut off all communication. I tried calling you numerous numerous times to try to talk with you about the situation and try to remedy it. I sent you numerous text messages trying to remedy the situation with you and all of my attempts of communication were completely ignored by you. Third, it is very unfortunate what happened to Charlie. Because of that cat bite Charlie spent seven days in the hospital. Not only did we get behind on your job because of it but we got behind on others as well. However most of the other customers were very understanding and had no issues with us coming back to fix other projects that we were unable to finish because we were one man short. I see you mentioned in the review that you're upset Corey did not step in to finish your projects. One thing you should understand is that Cory has his own tasks to do every single day. Corey does all of the commercial work for Premier handyman. Which in 2017 was 230 invoices. He does every single estimate and answers every single phone call. if Corey would have cancelled all of his appointments to work your 3 days and the other three days that Charlie missed he would have had to cancel 27 estimates and also 13 commercial jobs. us choosing to cancel nobody and just not get one of your projects done is the choice that we made. It's clear that you're unhappy with our choice and I can completely understand that. In your initial email when you paid the amount that you chose to pay. It was not an agreed-upon amount. You chose to pay the amount that you paid regardless of what are invoice dated you owed. We gave you an initial $300 discount which if you take $300 off of your bill it would have averaged $45 per hour. Our normal rate since the day we opened our doors has always been $55 per hour for one man and $35 per hour for the second man. For a total of $90 per hour. you assumed when I told you $90 per hour was 45 / man. Which just isn't the case. I'm sorry you feel misled and I'm sorry that you feel that we overcharged you and we weren't fair to you. But that $300 discount off your bill was 1/3 of your bill. I feel that was very fair for the inconvenience. The discount was for your patience. But clearly we did not get your patients out of giving you a $300 discount. Then you took it upon yourself to give yourself another $300 discount and chose to pay that amount only and then cut off all communication... I have since chosen not to take this customer to court just to try and make the situation better for the customer. I did everything I could to try to make it better for this customer and she was unruly and very unforgiving for a very unfortunate circumstance.
Charles and Kenny worked well both together and separately to complete diverse jobs including installation of lights, removal of ceiling fans, fixing doors that didn't close properly, drywall patching, painting, grouting a kitchen back splash, outdoor cleanup and furniture repair. Most important to me, they were efficient, thoughtful and listened intently to what I was asking for. Cory was very responsive to my call and communication through Angie's List, and the work got done! Thank you!

Very poorly. On their initial visit, the workmen arrived without the proper tools and completed less than half of the work. Over 4 months later, they returned to finish the drywall repairs but could not work on the exterior caulking because of the winter weather. They were still not able to complete the drywall repairs on the second visit. It has been over 6 months and they still have not completed the work.

Mr [Member Name Removed]. sorry for your bad experience. The workman had the right tools, our ladder was just a few feet short of reaching the heights that we needed to reach on your home! On 99% of jobs, the ladder that we carry on truck everyday works perfectly, however on your job it did not! We are normally able to reach 22 ft high areas with no issues with the ladder we had the day of your job. Our apologies for not having the taller ladder that day, nor the time to go get one that minute! We knew there would be more trips to the home and we could finish it a different trip! I see you forgot to mention that I sent Jeff to your home on one separate occasion (that you and I scheduled, second trip) to fix the issues at hand and you wouldn't let him fix it because it wasn't the same person who started the work ( although he was there on the first visit and on the same team daily ). I made a valiant effort to try and fix the issue and you turned my employee away without letting him second coat the drywall. so we made 3 trips out to your property, on a coupon, which explains in the coupon that it's a one trip coupon. If you would have let Jeff work on the drywall issue the second trip instead of turning him away, we could of finished your drywall repair on the 3rd trip (that we did make ) as we do every other drywall repair.. EVERY drywall repair takes 3 trips to perfect and get paint ready. I tell every customer this upfront including yourself. So in theory we SHOULD have completed the project you have but you wouldnt allow us to complete it.. I've yet to send you a bill at all trying to make it right with you. We're very sorry for your bad experience I wish it could of went differently for sure. In the end I feel I made a valiant effort fix the issues you had, and am sorry you feel otherwise! I feel ive handled this amicably and have done everything in my power to get this project done for you, but you have worked against us a few times here.. in the end i thank you for your review and we will take your review into strong consideration and see what we can do differently to ensure this issue doesnt happen again! Sincerely, Corey

I have renovated numerous houses throughout the years, and The Premier Handyman turns out to be the best such service I have used thus far. Business owner Corey came over and gave me a reasonable quote for my project soon after I called, and the work was done a few weeks later (as scheduled, and for the amount mentioned). He even gave me some free advice re: an improvement I was making on my own. His associates Jeff and Terry replaced my small kitchen window with a very large one, and they did a terrific job re-trimming the exterior --rather high from the ground outside. They arrived (wearing company shirts) at 9am on-the-dot, took a short lunch break, and left at 5:30pm after finishing the work. They also cleaned up after themselves --almost unheard of! I will definitely hire the Premier Handyman again and recommend them to friends.

It was great. The guys showed up promptly at the scheduled 8am time frame. One pained while the other reapplied the ceiling drywall and applied the mud. They couldn’t finish that day due to the multi-step drywall process, but seemed eager to be flexible and come back to do the next step. They left on break for a bit while things dried them came back and hung the cabinets. I’m picky about details and the cabinets were hung straight, paint edges were straight, it all looked great.

After being reluctant to hire anyone due to some poor experiences with previous contractors, we turned to Angie’s List for help. We couldn’t be more happy with Corey, Jeff, & Terry. They were punctual, professional, meticulous, & worked cleanly and efficiently. We hired them to come in and do a clean up job from a botched job from a previous contractor & were so happy with them, we called them back 2 weeks later to come do some additional work for us. We will definitely use them again.

Very well. They had to reroute some plumbing for sinks, whirlpool tub and walkin shower. I asked them to move the location of toilet and they did. Their worker's Charlie and Kenny are very professional, considerate, neat workers. The job was done in a timely matter. They carted all old fixtures to the dump for me. They even answered my many questions about the job that I asked.

The work completed was excellent, the quality of the work was very good. The issue I had was very poor preparation and scheduling. it took 2 months from initial contact to completion to get this work done. Having extensive experience in program management, it appeared to me that their schedule is packed so tight with activities that they can't recover easily from issues that come up, such as an employee calling in sick. Also, they didn't take into account that materials may not be available on the scheduled day of the job, which was the case here, and led to a 3 week delay. The individuals who did the job were professional and very friendly and were very competent, but the scheduling was extremely poor, a 3 hour job took 2 months to complete.

Scheduling was easy. They are very busy so I got an appointment 1 month out, which was not a problem. They were very punctual. Arrived at 8 am sharp. I had the 8 man-hour package and on Cory's (owner) suggestion scheduled 2 additional hours based on the list of things I needed help with around the house (ended up needing another hr). They got most of the items on my list and am happy with both the quality of their work and the people that came to do it.
