The Premier Handyman

Corey, the owner, contacted me and set up a day and time to come do a walk-through to get an idea of what I needed as well as what materials he would need. We set up the day/time and unfortunately we had the big ice storm. I contacted Corey to ask if he would still be able to meet me at the house even though the weather was really bad and he said he was willing if I was willing. He met me at the rental house, I took him through and explained what I needed. He knew exactly what to do with the ceiling cracking (due to an old attic joist bowing) as well as the old original hardwood floors pulling away from the wall creating cracks. Corey gave me a ball-park on how much time it would take to perform the list I gave him and we arranged another day/time for the work to be performed. On the day the work was performed, Corey and his co-worker arrived pretty much on time. The work was performed with detail and I am extremely pleased with the quality. The time did go over a bit, but he gave me a fair price since I was on a budget. I will be using Premier Handyman Services again probably for ALL my handyman needs and to be honest I will definitely recommend him for all my friends and family. *Corey did both call and text me during this transaction and I thought he was both personable and professional with every communication, EVEN with the use of smiley-faces.

Once they arrived, they got right to work installing new security lights on our garage, after that they came in to thaw out and tackle our list of inside projects. Installed 2 new ceiling fans, a new bathroom light fixture, 2 new dome lights in 2 different hallways, repaired the leaky faucet in the bathroom ,installed 2 halogen bulbs in the under cabinet light bar, that has been installed (not by them) backwards making placement of the bulbs, very awkward. Then it was time to go outside and install one last security light on our deck. In addition to all the work they did , they cleaned up after all projects, no mess was left behind. Corey is giving me an estimate on some future projects. Just want to mention I had called Corey Tuesday and gave him a chance to rescheduled because of the road conditions, but he said, he wanted to still come and get everything done, or he would have to reschedule for March of 2015. He has outstanding work ethics and his customer service skills, are unmatched.

Again, I did not hire this company. I sent an email and received a text message back from Corey. The text message exchanges with him were completely unprofessional. Starting out texts with "hey hey!" and using emoticons is not how you should communicate with potential customers. I wanted to hire them for a Saturday, which according to their website and Angie's list they work on Saturday. This is not the case. Corey explained that they only work one Saturday a month and on an as needed basis. I suggested they change their website and listing on here to better explain that. Since I did not hire this company, I cannot say how their work is, but based on how they communicate with potential customers, I would not call on them again.

When I called The Premiere Handyman, it was based on the reviews they had here on AL, I was looking for someone to do complete the drywall in a home I am rehabbing. When Cory came out, it was clear that he knew his way around this type and scale of project. It was also clear that they were capable of far more than just drywall. He saw what I had to do, the amount of work, the uneven floors, the uneven windows, nothing was square, there was no electrical and no plumbing and the crawl space was still exposed from the sub-floor repair work. But he just smiled and said, "Mike is gonna love this place." And he has. Mike and his team showed up and have poured themselves into every corner of this house. They got right to work. Firing off a quick punch list and setting upon it. They got the sub-floors finished and the framing wrapped up - there was some demo left to do (mostly because of my inexperience and trepidation in wanting to take something out that was still usable). They just stayed at it and checked the items off the list. They'd get more done and I'd bring more supplies, they'd send me a text at the end of the day, many times with photos of the progress and I'd have any needed materials there in the morning. They were very communicative. This job was impossible to gauge the amount of time accurately, just way too many unknowns and things I didn't necessarily have prepared in advance, that said, we did get off my (overly optimistic) schedule a bit. So, I called and talked to the guys, they explained the situation and we made a plan to get the highest priority items done first. We made up the time and made a plan to get caught up, which we have. Now, I'm not sure if Mike still loves this place but these guys have absolutely blown me away with the amount of work they have completed in the amount of time they've been there. Beyond that, the work is done to the highest caliber of my expectations. I have had people come through the place, in the beginning and now in these late stages and they are all overwhelmed with how nice this house looks. I am continually impressed with their flexibility, professionalism and even their sense of humour (which was needed in spades on this house). There were times when we just needed things to be good enough, to leave some of the character rather than have it be exactly like new, that was my call and they were able to make the best of those situations understanding the budgetary constraints we were coping with, that meant a lot. That said, they did a lot with what they had to work with and I will use these guys again, without question. Great Job Guys!!

Cory called to let me know that the morning job had run late, and the technicians would arrive a half hour later than scheduled -- no problem -- in fact, worked out better for us. The technicians arrived, introduced themselves and surveyed the work to be done. They thought the two of them could do all the work in the hour and a half allotted originally (3 hour contract -- one and a half hours each). They went right to work -- one on the dry wall and one cleaning the gutters. While the drywall was drying they caulked around the tub...very neat job. The gutters were only dirty in spots and they went back up with a hose to check the downspouts. The drywall was taking a little long to dry so they borrowed a hair dryer to dry it quicker. The walls look great although we'll have to paint -- smooth and level. We did the receipt online and they sent me an email copy as well.

Excellent service from Corey, Mike and Scott (?). I will be hiring them for all of my jobs, large and small. They have a wide range of skills and can take on most anything you need, all with courtesy, cleanliness and timeliness. I recommend them for keeping your house in tip-top shape!

Cory was amazing! We had another plumber try to find the leak & couldn't. He realized the vanity would have to be removed & he was not comfortable with doing that. Cory came in, found the leak within 2 minutes, then explained exactly what needed to be done. Two of his guys showed up today, Mike & ?, pulled out the vanity & got to work. They patched up the drywall from the opposite room & the ceiling downstairs in the garage. Plus, I asked them to increase the height of the vanity, not a problem! They were on time & the bill was exactly what Cory said it would be. Very professional & clean. Exactly what we wanted. Will use them again soon for some "honey do" projects.

The service turned out very well. They did a very good job. I requested them to come out a little later. There was no additional cost. It looks really good. They were in and out and they kept it real clean. They made sure that everything worked right before they left. They didn’t just take off before I really got to take a look at it. I didn’t have any issues. They did a pretty quiet job. They were outside doing most of the work. They did a really quality job. They provided really good service. They were really nice and efficient. They called me right away.

What I wanted/needed the most, was not done - rebalance the largest/main kitchen cabinet door and rehang. The kitchen faucet sprayer had stopped working. I bought a new one but did not try to replace it. They replaced it, but cannot find out why it still does not work. It acts as if there is restriction in the line, but the line is fairly rigid so, not possible. One of the flood lights near the driveway was replaced. In getting to the dryer vent line, the bottom of a built-in book shelf had to be removed. Because of that, the job took longer than expected. The dryer vent seems to work just fine.

We haven't done the job yet, but from other estimates, Corey's came out to be the fairest. We haven't had the funds yet to do this project but do look forward to bringing in Corey's crew to get us back up and running!

It went well. Two fellows showed up on time and got right to work. They had to go purchase some sheetrock from Home Depot. While one went to purchase the materials, the other finished up some sheetworking work that was left from another job after a previous leak. They put in the sheetrock, taped it, painted the patched area and then sprayed in the "popcorn", which covers the entire ceiling drywall. All in all, it was well-done and a professional job. The price was a bit high, since I had already put $99 on my charge card. I did not quite understand why the remaining bill was so high. The sheetrock was costly, but it was not that pricey.

I contacted Corey last Friday about an estimate. We set up a time on Monday. He was very puntual and personable. He even petted my dogs which meant a lot to me as I am a dog person. We had set up a date on the Friday when I first contacted him because he is pretty booked up (and I understand why after seeing the quality of their work). He said I could always cancel it. He gave me a very reasonable price for a full days work. I elected to get the materials myself and he emailed me a list of what was needed. He told me if the work did not take all day, he would deduct the charge for the unused time. The men showed up promptly at 9am and started work immediately. It was very cold and I offered them coffee. They politely declined and continued working. They let me know when they went to lunch and returned. When they were done, they asked my husband and me to come and inspect their work. It was GREAT! They did a wonderful job with attention to detail. When they gave me the final bill to pay, they had deducted for lunch and any unused hours! They cleaned up all the debris and left the area as clean as they had found it. Later that night, Corey contacted me to make sure I was a satisfied customer. AND BOY AM I!!! I have more projects coming up and will definitely use them. It was refreshing to not be over charged and I feel like they truly care that their customers are happy!

When the guys came out and looked at the trim boards they decided to get PVC boards rather than use the wooden ones I had bought and being PVC, there's no worry of rotting anymore. Those boards were roughly $100. The two guys worked diligently for almost exactly three hours including the time spent to go get the boards. I don't think the new trim work could have possibly looked any better than what it did. They did a superb job with the installation and caulking. I could not have been more pleased. I was a lilttle surprised at the final cost on the invoice of $234 but as I began to recall the services on the website it indicated one man for three hours or two men for an hour and a half. I thought it would all be the same regardless. I wasn't thinking clearly on that, apparently. Since two men were here for three hours that was the differnce in cost but it was well worth it to have such a marvelous job done. As I mentioned, you could not have gotten a better looking job than what these two men performed. Excellent in all ways and highly recommended.

I was so impressed with the work that was done. I had a vision for what I wanted my pantry shelves to look like, but no idea for how to do it or what materials I would need. I have an odd shaped pantry that is long and narrow. As soon as the men arrived I explained what I wanted and they made a plan in about 5 minutes. They went to purchase the supplies for me since I had no clue what to purchase, which I was grateful for. (Although, I do wish I had been told up front that there is a 30% increase in supply cost if they purchase supplies for you. They did clearly explain all other costs.) We had estimated the project taking about 3 hours when I had explained it over the phone, but when they saw the pantry in person and how many shelves I wanted to do the project ended up taking about 6 hours. (They installed 22 shelves along three separate walls.) Despite the workers having an afternoon appointment they made sure to rearrange their schedule with Corey to stay until the project was completed. I very much appreciated how accommodating they were. When the work was done they cleaned up and swept the floor. They were professional and courteous the entire time and I would certainly use them again for my next project.

Corey and his crew did a fantastic job for a reasonable price. Also, Corey helped me out with a problem. I needed some brush removed and rather than charge me his full fee, he found someone to do it for less money. It was great of him to go out of his way to help us and we will be sure to use his company again. It is nice to know there is someone we can depend on to help keep our home maintained.

The 3-man crew came out in bitterly cold weather to install storm windows on an older home belonging to a single lady in our church to help her save money on her utility bill. They also cleaned the leaves out of her gutters and installed two security lights. She was VERY grateful for all they did.

We had a 10-foot section of gutter with an inside corner that was damaged by a falling tree limb. I had worked with Corey before, when my in-laws' hired him to get their house ready to live in, so I gave him a call. Corey subbed it out to his gutter guy because he said he gets a better price on materials from him. It was a little difficult to get it scheduled with the gutter guy, but we eventually worked it out, and when the gutter guy came he was fast and did a great job. He replaced the entire gutter, and fixed the angle of the gutter, which previously had not drained correctly. The new gutter is just the same as the rest of the house, and now it drains properly. There was also a section of soffit missing under the gutter, with rotting clapboard underneath. We were concerned animals could get in under the roof. Corey just charged an hour's labor and materials to fix it. He removed some rotting wood and patched the area so nothing can get in. Corey is always courteous and great about calling before he comes over, and is quick to text back when you're trying to schedule things. He also did a great job at my in-laws' house with their carpet/floor staple removal. We would definitely hire him again.

I have used Corey's services before. He has done a variety of projects on my home this last year. When I wanted cabinets in the laundry room, I of course called Premier Handyman to have the job done. Corey called me promptly after I bought the Big Deal and we arranged the date for the install. As always, Corey was on time and brought a helper named Ron. They took off the old racks and installed 4 cabinets over the washer and dryer. There was a lot of leveling as the walls were not straight. Corey knows his stuff and can compensate for uneven wall and ceilings. The doors were not properly aligned by Hampton Bay, the makers of the cabinets. Corey and Ron took off the hardware are reset the hinges. They cut the molding perfectly and they used caulk and touch up paint on the small holes made by the nail gun. He cleaned up the work area and left me with a great looking laundry room and a clean house. The job is seamless. Corey is always professional, but his attention to detail and doing the job right is why I will always use him. Without hesitation, I recommend Corey and Premier Handyman. His prices are reasonable and his work is top notch.

I had originally hoped to have the faucet, two outlets installed, and desk repaired, but they worked very quickly and were asking me what else I needed done. Fortunately I always have plenty of things that need to be done, so I got my money's worth! There were two men for 2.5 hours (5 man hours). They both worked independently, for the most part. They were very professional and knowledgeable. I would hire them again if I have any other projects I need completed. I had looked at other Big Deals for handymen but selected Premier Handyman because they had great ratings. Glad I did!

He repaired some woodwork in my closet, bedroom and hallways He also fixed my screen on the screened in porch. The service was great. He came back a second day because there were some materials he needed to pick up. He was on time. He cleaned up after the work. I would recommend him.

The service was pretty good. He installed some locks on my doors and installed a microwave. When I went out to recycle the box I noticed there was filter and part left in the box so I was unsure if they were needed for the installation or not. They came back on a second occasion for the last hour of service because I needed to get the materials and they didn't charge me any extra which I appreciated.

I can't list all these guys did and are able to do! They were wonderful and we will keep using them. Mike was very professional, friendly and very knowledgable. We are very happy with Premier Handyman. We had them out two separate days this week. Thank you!

We have just had our first experience with Knoxville's The Premier Handyman. Our house is in need of foundation & drainage repair and we had a foundation company do an inspection & estimate. The price was contingent with having an existing deck removed first. Using Angie's List, we contacted The Premier Handyman and had them do the removal of the deck. Using the online coupon deal, the job was done for only $199.00. Must confess that we expected some slow old guy in bib overalls ... no way! These, much younger guys, show up in uniform & fully decked out truck. No stick on magnets there either. One cannot say enough in praise of Corry & his crew. Chad & Ron were on time & completed the job in only 1 1/2 hours. The work was done to satisfaction and before they left, asked if there was anything (concerning the deck removal) that they needed to do. The job was done in a quiet & efficient manner to the satisfaction of both parties. Corry has just left today, after completing an exterior inspection of our house. Considering the excellent job that they did on the deck, we also showed him our home improvement wish list. He & Chad displayed great patience and informed me in a clear manner the work that should be done. Corry even suggested that we have our insurance agent do an inspection first because, in his opinion, home owners may cover some of the repairs. We are looking forward to working with The Premier Handyman because they give a whole new meaning to the word "handyman". The scope of work they offer is far beyond the traditional definition of "Handyman".

Spoke directly with owner, Cory, for scheduling. Great guy, knows what he is doing, and easy to work with. First visit was for quote. He was gracious enough to spend extra time pointing out issues we should fix soon. All problems were due to poor work by past contractors. What was impressive that he did not use this as a sales pitch. Instead, he walked me through how to possibly get the past contractors to fix their errors and even how I could fix them myself. The extra time he took was helpful and much appreciated. The Premier Handyman crew arrived on time and called before before arrival. They had to remove the existing ceiling fan/heaters. The work had to be done in the attic which was hot due to it being a summer day. Not once did they complain. They made sure the floors were protected from the falling insulation and debris along with their boots. The work was great. The fans work well and we are happy. We also know other things to work on to improve our house. When we choose to take care of these issues in the future Cory will be the first person we call! We would recommend Premier Handyman to anyone.

Everything was explained to me in detail, I was told the problem and how it was to be repaired. I was given the exact cost per day minus materials. The called when they said they would, they arrived on time. Corey is very easy to work with. His entire crew was very professional, polite and knew their job. I recommend The entire crew highly. We were very satisfied with their work and their attitude. .My house is a three (3) level house. The outside frames on all the windows and doors hade to be removed and insulation installed. The framing was put back and painted. My gate to my front deck was built on site to exactly match the deck. The gate to my driveway was repaired in a way to make it easy for me to open and close. Cold air came in around baseboards in kitchen extension, Corey removed covering underneath, insulation was installed wrong. He knew how it was supposed to be installed. My security doors were installed wrong, I have six. They did not fit right, Corey noticed right away the bottom had been secured to the top of the door. They had to be rehung to fit right. The decks that were redone go the width of the front of the house, they look wonderful. Will be using Corey again in the near future. The most personal touch for me, Corey and his crew moved some furniture for me that I couldn't lift. Corey also cleaned a window that goes up to the top of my house.
