Description of Work: I purchased the deal and then found out it would be 6-8 weeks before they could get to me. They authorized Angie's list to give me a refund since I needed the work done sooner. They were very understanding and easy to work with on the refund. Angie's list was prompt with the refund. The only reason I rated a C was because there is no way to determine how backed up someone is until after the purchase. I went with another contractor who was able to get to me in a couple of weeks.

Called again shortly after and said they weren't going to make it. Tried the online portal to reschedule, never got a response back. Would not recommend and will not hire again!

+ -1 moreI thought they did a great job. They were very neat and clean. They cleaned up better than I cleaned. They didn't leave a mess especially after the ceiling work so they had the work cut out for them. They were prompt and never idle.
Description of Work: Repaired living room ceiling. They had to remud around the fireplace because I had a leak and they also painted the ceiling as well as other spots that were needing to be repaired. Entry way was also repainted.

Description of Work: I needed a completely remodeled kitchen and bathroom. My floors were really in bad shape with mold and water damage under them. and all the sub-floors needed to be replaced. In addition to all that I needed new sinks, bathtub, counters, Painting and carpet in a couple of other rooms, new front door . So much work. I can't thank them enough!

One replaced the shower valve while the other replaced Sheetrock in garage, added a sheet of plywood and put a 4x4 in the concrete as a parking stop. Then one replaced the facia board while the othe pressure washed the front steps and walkway. Amiable, industrious, efficient! Will definitely use again!
Description of Work: Needed four items repaired at my home: shower valve leaked and needed replacing, sheet rock in garage had been damaged by car and needed replacing, facial board on eave was rotten and needed replacing, pressure washing of steps.

+ -1 moreI was very impressed with the 2-service techs. They arrived shortly after 10 and were gone by 10:45. They hit the ground running so to speak and didn't waste a minute of time. One worked solely on the shower while the other did the other chores. I was amazed at what service people can do if they know what they are doing.
Description of Work: Several small repairs. Caulk a shower, put a mailbox on an existing post, change out 2-floodlights bulbs, put a new seat on a commode.

+ 2 moreThey showed up on time and were very courteous. They went over our wish list, and made sure to keep me in the loop for any issues or concerns. Once they were finished they made sure to take all of the trash from the job (unexpected) and vacuumed the areas they had worked in. Would definitely hire them again.
Description of Work: They changed out security lights, cut out drywall for audio video boxes, ran AV cables, setup and mounted flat screen tv and mounted projector on the ceiling.

Charlie and Randy were so respectful of my parents, and worked diligently to cause as little discomfort for them as possible. They asked questions instead of assuming what and how we wanted things done, and just got to it every day. Their work is impeccable, and I'm sure we will have many more projects that we can use their help with in the near future. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend The Premier Handyman to everyone.

+ 3 moreCorey and I set up a time for about 2 weeks after my initial call. However he knew that I was willing and anxious to get things done asap because we have a baby on the way , and you know what that means.... get it done sooner than later, on everything. So, with that in mind, Corey had a cancellation and called me at 830am and said his guys could be at my house in 30 min. I said "come on" Guys showed up and assessed the situation quickly and got down to business. We had a few elec. plugs that I wanted to add in 2 different spots and guys said, if I go and get the plugs while they do closet work, they will install plugs right after. That they did, and it was all done quickly, politely, and done well. I will hire again for a railing we have to install.
Description of Work: We hade a closet in our bonus room that needed to be finished with wood and some framing behind that wood. Also they looked at a small roof leak situation I had.

+ 2 moreI initially called Corey as I was moving into a new home in 2014. I was stressed as I needed a lot of light fixtures and ceiling fans changed out as well as a laundry list of small things. He has a great attitude and was so friendly when we spoke. He set the appointment on the spot and arrived on time. He and his helper were very knowledgeable about everything I needed. They worked quickly and offered helpful suggestions. Every task they completed on that job is perfect to this day. I recently wanted to replace my over the range microwave and called Corey, of course. He remembered me from before and was able to set an appointment within the week to do the job. He and his helper arrived on time with smiles. They found a wiring hazard in the wall during the installation, and corrected it for me. They were able to take care of several other small tasks while they were there. They never rushed and were happy to do whatever I needed. When they finished, they insisted on cleaning up any mess and all was done carefully. They work well together and are always positive and upbeat. (this means a lot if you have experienced the alternative!) It is obvious that Corey and his helpers enjoy what they do as you watch them work. They care about doing it right and the way their customer wants it done. Corey knows that I am very particular and works accordingly, always asking if things are done to my satisfaction. Both times I have worked with Corey, I have told friends and family after, "That is the best money I have spent in a long time!" I trust Corey's knowledge and I enjoy working with him. I have definitely found my go-to guy for home repairs! Make your "honey-do-list" and call Corey! He will take good care of you!

+ -1 more1) Corey's guys were supposed to correct the problem, but all that was done was put in lead-type screws, so tightly that they caused the door to rub horribly against the jamb. That mess lasted maybe 3 weeks - the door has not been used since around Thanksgiving 2016 - I hung the Christmas wreath but had to force open the door to remove it in January 2017. 2) Corey's guys didn't "realize" there was pressure washing to be done but, at the last minute, realized they had only an electric pressure washer that someone had given them, but with a broken wand. Very little of the deck was washed, and Corey wants to be paid! 3) Stupidly, I offered my drill bit kit, to save them a trip to the truck. That got my small diameter drill bits stolen; in their place I found several much larger diameter drill bits dumped inside the open case. 4) For this repair the young guy was told to use a screwdriver to dig out the wood for the dead bolt. Hello, folks! Never use a screwdriver; always use a chisel. It's a chopped up mess inside the lock throw. And it is not a solid lock - everyone should know that a dead bolt must "click", to know that the dead bolt has properly seated in the lock throw. 5) This was done - and, even painted. Although, I had one of the pieces already properly painted - the 1st coat was lightly sanded, damp wiped, dried, and a 2nd coat applied. This guy applied 2 coats in record time - no drying between coats; no sanding between coats... 6) The apprentice was supposed to do this job - what a mess! Twice I told him how I had already marked an area with a small sticky and what that sticky meant. He never told me he did not understand. So, he proceeded to put three holes in the wall above where the top of the frame was to meet. He complained, when I told him that was unacceptable - I had him measure, again, and put the holes where they were supposed to go - below the top of the frame and behind the frame. 7) The debris still sits in my driveway - in direct violation of City law
Description of Work: This was supposed to have been completed by Angie's List, as an addendum, but, clearly, it was not. 1) I inherited something wrong with the structure in which the front door is mounted. Indeed, the previous owners had chiseled out the door jamb at the top and center hinges, to bring the door upright, as it was sagging from the top toward the latch side, thereby jamming the door and making it impossible to open. I had already used 3 different lengths & diameters of brass screws, which worked for a short time, then again failed. Corey's guys were supposed to correct the problem, but all that was done was put in lead-type screws, so tightly that they caused the door to rub horribly against the jam. That got my small diameter drill bits stolen; in their place I found several much larger diameter drill bits dumped inside the open case. 4) Diagnose/correct why upstairs back door jammed on occasion. For this repair, the young guy was told to use a screwdriver to dig out the wood for the dead bolt. Hello, folks! Never use a screwdriver; always use a chisel. It's a chopped up mess inside the lock throw. 5) Replace brick mold on outside of downstairs back door. 6) Hang three pictures 7) The City requires that any/all contractors remove all debris To answer the first question: Was money paid or were services performed - yes, but.... there was no money paid; only the R&R brick moulding was done but painting, even though I did not ask, nor need, painting to have been done by them, was not done properly.

+ -1 morePat, I got your review and wanted to let you know, that i will not reschedule any more time for more work to be done until i receive the check that is now past due! After 30 days past due i will start to add late fees to your bill at the rate of 30$ per month late. I told you to contact me and i would be glad to set up more time to finish the deck for you, but again, you would be charged for that as well. I'm not sure why you're so upset about the deck issue when I've given you almost a 100$ discount total. So u basically didn't pay for an entire hour the guys were at your house which was more time than Charles spent on the deck. Yet you still seem to believe that i was unfair to you. This is a quote from the handyman company's owner, who addressed the email to "Hey Pat": "Please send the check to the address listed on the invoice and we can then reschedule time to finish that deck for you. I'm sorry for any trouble or confusion but i really don't think I've been unfair to you at this point with a 100$ discount given. Thanks again, Corey." And, this guy addressed me, in this email dated Dec. 1, 2016, as "Hey Pat". Ask yourself - do you want to deal with a company that addresses its clients like that? Do you want to deal with a company that does not complete the work, or damages your home, but expects payment before returning?

+ 1 moreThis was the third job Premier Handyman has done for me. I have been pleased everytime. Which makes life easier for me. Now when I need work done, there's no need to spend time searching for a contractor. Here's why: 1. Communication: The owner, Corey, checked-in consistently before, during, and even after. Even better, the guys spent time keeping me up to speed with the work. Both kept me at ease throughout the entire project. 2. Respect: When there were issues with sections if the floor they explained the problem in detail, gave me options, and asked for my input. Rather than making an assumption, they respected me enough to ask my opinin. The finished floor turned out better than expected because of that collaboration. 3. Attention to detail: Corners, edges, and curved sections look amazing. If not done right those spots can be eyesores. My floors look amazing even in those tight spots. Cutting tile to fit is an art and these guys do it well. With the quality of work and great customer service, I highly recommend Corey and and the Premier Handyman team. Jeffrey
