Dr. Madigan diagnosed my problem and we tried to let it heal on its own. It didn't because of the medication that I'm on so he recommended surgery. He did the surgery and my back is healing now. I am so pleased with Dr. Madigan.
Description of Work: I had work done on one of my disks because of a fall.

Description of Work: I went in with back problems and had been a client of KOC for many years but my doctor retired and he took over his patients. Rude and does not explain anything.

Overall, not the experience I had hoped for.
Description of Work: Did not have opportunity to meet or be examined by Dr. Madigan. I was referred to him by my family physician due to pain in upper back, chest, and neck, with progressive numbness and pain in Left hand, forearm, and upper arm. I had a previous cervical fusion surgery 17 years ago by another Orthopedic surgeon, who is now in his mid-70's. Dr. Madigan's staff returned my records to my family doctor, stating he "would not review or take my case". No reason was given to my doctor. That is what the referral staff at my family doctor's office related to me. When I called KOC to inquire why Dr. Madigan did not want to even examine me, the woman I spoke with stated "we are a private entity, and our physicians can pick and choose who they want to see" . I have CIGNA insurance, which Dr. Madigan's office accepts, so insurance coverage was not the problem. CIGNA stated they were "disappointed" when this occurs with a provider, but they cannot do anything about it. The clinic in which Dr. Madigan works is supposed to be composed of the "best Doctors in the region, each practicing their own sub-specialty of Orthopedics", in order to provide the patient with the best and latest in treatment poptions. Some even state on their profile page that they "particularly enjoy the difficult and challenging" cases. My question then, is who is he patient supposed to turn to when "the best" refuse to even examine them? And what about the oath you were required to take before being licensed to practice medicine in this State? I don't think it says anything about picking and choosing from the sick. As I stated at the beginning, I have not been examined by Dr. Madigan...he may very well be a nice individual who takes his job seriously, but the "List" wants accurate reviews of their member's experiences, and this was mine.

He is excellent, incredible. He is never on time because he spends time with his patients. I have to wait there, but it is worth the wait.
Description of Work: Dr. Becker is my orthopedist. He has done my knee replacement surgery for me. I last saw him for a knee issue.

The surgery went on very well. She answered questions for me; she was very professional and the results were good. If I need to see her again I will go back.

Overall, I think (not that I know anything about this type of work) the surgery went well. My follow up appointment was not with the doctor, but with an assistant who was excellent in removing the bandage and communicating with me. I am pleased with the results. In answer to the question above: Would I use her in the future, I answered yes, but I am not really sure. There are not many choices in Knoxville for this service. Even though her manners were poor, she may still be an excellent surgeon. It could be that she was overbooked. No question about that.
Description of Work: I waited for an hour and 15 minutes in an evaluation room. When she came in she did not introduce herself or even say: 'hello'. She was all business and did not really try to be helpful, but I knew what I wanted. She was obviously overbooked. She did not consider my pain as she examined my toenail, which is what she removed. During the removal I went out of my way to talk to her and make friends. The surgery went smooth. She stood up and left and never returned without so much as a goodbye or a nod. I kept waiting for her to return. Then an assistant took over and bandaged my toe and we were through.
