They did the worst job I have ever seen in my life. I went round and round with them. They tore our back yard up completely and left huge holes back there. We thought they had fixed it and we called them back out here about three times. One of them you could stand in the hole, it was up, like, to your knee. He told us that was not his responsibility to kind of fill the dirt back in. We finally gave up on it. It took about four months for them to finally call it quits. They had to dig up all my trees. They just cut them off and did not try to save them. It was just horrible. They left a clean out plug sticking up in the side yard about two feet. They told me to plant a bush around it. They fixed the inside pipes, finally, but what got us was the mess they made in the yard that they did not fix. I called them two or three times. The last time I called I told them that somebody had better come out here and fix it or I was going to call the Better Business Bureau. He got really huffy with me and told me not to threaten him. It was horrible. I had to call and call and call.

Avoid this plumbing service at all costs!!! I contacted Roto-Rooter to replace a broken garbage disposal. During the service call, the representative stated that they check their customer's water pressure as a complimentary service. While the representative was in the house speaking to me, his son was adjusting my water pressure before I could stop him. I noticed the next day that my pipes were rattling and I could hear a clunking noise as the water was being turned on in the house. We have had this issue before and the water pressure had to be adjusted down to slow the water coming into our home from street side. I contacted Roto-Rooter on May 9th to see if they would come out and take a look at it and reduce the water pressure down to where it was before their representative had adjusted it. I was told at the time of contact (approximately at 11:00am) that they would take care of it and would have someone out that day or the next. After waiting all day at my home, I called the office around 5:00 pm when I did not hear from anyone at Roto-Rooter and was told that the supervisor would have to approve someone coming out to take care of the issue. This was new news to me. I contacted Rick Hunt (owner) on May 10th at approximately 10:00 am. Unfortunately, the conversation did not go well. He accused me of dictating to him what needed to be done. I am sorry, but isn't that what a customer should do, tell the contractor what needs to be done? It really frustrated me that the owner, Rick Hunt, would not come out and adjust the water level down to where it was before his representative came out to the property. He stated that he would come out to my property and access the situation but would not do any adjusting without a fee. The funny thing is that I never asked him to come out to adjust the water pressure for free. What frustrated me the most was the manor in which I was handled and spoken to by Rick Hunt. In all my years dealing with contractors in personal matters as well as business matters, I have never been spoken to in this manner. It truly shocked me. This man actually yelled at me throughout our conversation with accusations that I was not treating him with respect, raising my voice to him and dictating to him what needed to be done. Mr. Hunt most certainly did not handle himself in a professional manner. He certainly did not want to listen to what I had to say by continually interrupting me during our conversation. In fact it scared me so much that I thought my personal safety and my family's personal safety would be in jeopardy if I continued with this matter, so I cancelled the service call to come out to access the situation. This man was very much on the verge of being verbally abusive and in my opinion does not need to own a service business. I would also have to question the initial complimentary service of adjusting my water pressure. Is this a method of requiring another service call to replace a water pressure reducing valve that has gone bad by having the water pressure too high? He most certainly does not represent the franchise of Roto-Rooter very well. The outcome was that I hired another plumber to access the situation and indeed the water pressure reducing valve needed to be replaced. The cost of this service visit was $225.00.
Description of Work: Initially came out to replace garbage disposal and as a complimentary service adjusted water pressure.

They did a good job last summer when they cleared the sewer line and removed the clog. However, when the line clogged again last week, we called and left two messages (2 days in a row), and they never returned our calls. We ended up hiring another company.
Description of Work: Last summer, Roto-rooter removed a toilet, cleared the clogged sewer line, and identified the cause of the clog.
