At first, we were not told that because it is a showroom, nothing can be purchased at that time; you must wait for it to be delivered. Also, you must have the item(s) delivered; you cannot pick up your items at the store. This cost us $50. I agreed to have them apply a protective coating to the chair, to protect it from stains. The price I was quoted by the salesperson was $10 less, but RTG would not give it to me for the quoted amount ($39 instead of $49). When the chair was delivered to me a week later, it arrived damaged (scratches & dents on the wooden leg); also, the color looked entirely different from the one I saw in the store. The delivery men would not allow me to refuse delivery, so I did not sign for the chair. I called the phone number on my paperwork, and was told to call the store directly. I was met with some resistance and rudeness, but eventually worked it out for the chair to be exchanged, which I was later told that I should be very grateful for, even though it was damaged, "because we don't have to exchange it for you at all." I tried, unsuccessfully, to get RTG to work with me to find a delivery time that accommodated my work schedule (disrupted now for the second time, due to delivery of damaged goods the first time) & that of the delivery men, but RTG said they were unable to offer anything but their usual 4-hour window for delivery. Because of the multiple difficulties I had along the way, I will not be returning to Rooms To Go. There are plenty of furniture stores in the area; customer service can be the deciding factor in repeat business.
Description of Work: I bought a recliner; it was delivered (you cannot pick it up at the store, we were told, so you have to pay the $50 delivery charge) & arrived damaged. Also, the color did not appear to be the same as the one I saw in the store.

7/27, the wrong furniture was delivered for one son's bedroom set and the correct set for the other son's bedroom (though the bed was on backorder). Customer Service is closed on Sat, so on Mon we arranged for the correct furniture to be delivered. On 8/10, they delivered the correct furniture, but left me with a damaged desk. Another reschedule the following Mon. In addition to the rescheduled for a replacement, I asked they push the back-ordered delivery to 8/31, too. However, they still arrived on 8/24 to pick up the frame (which was not to be returned until the backordered bed was delivered) On 8/31, they delivered another damaged desk (and the back-ordered bed, thankfully in good condition). And today, they delivered yet another damaged desk. While I will be keeping the one bedroom set (because it's easier than dealing with the hassle), I will be returning the other bedroom set and purchasing another elsewhere.
Description of Work: I have been trying since 7/27 to get the correct order without damage.
