Rocky Top Air

The service from Rocky Top was top-notch today. Alvin and Gabe the technicians, were very knowledgeable and helpful. Alvin explained what needed to be done and provided a solution after a thorough inspection. They overall service was excellent and I will be using Rocky Top HVAC again.

I feel like I had win the lottery. They are exceptional. Their workmanship, installed the equipment, professionalism is great.

Never resolved. Did not follow-up regarding replacement parts.

They are pretty good, but with the servicing sometimes they are kind of sluggish. They are kind of sluggish sometimes about getting around to doing the servicing part. I would use them again in the future.

All the heating and air around here are hard to get to, so it is a little more expensive. They do a really good job. They came out when the AC unit was gone. We called around until we found someone who came. They are pretty good on professionlism. We will have them come back out if have to. The thing they could work on is mainly price. All of them charge a lot, I don't see a big difference on pricing between the ac/heating unit people.

The servicmen were great! They were prompt and thoroughout the entire process.

The gas valve was found to be defective. They replaced it under warranty by Trane, part only. While here, had them perform normal seasonal inspection/maintenance.

I use them continuously. I would give them a "A" across the board. I have a contract with them to do three checkups a year.

I'm in a three year contract. This gives me maintenance visits, I move to the top of the list in an emergency and I get 25% off any other services. They put in my air conditioning unit two years ago. If you ask a question, they take a few moments to answer your questions. I'm big on customer service. They do a bang up job. They check all the volumes of the fluids, change filters and clean it really good. $150 a year for a maintenance contract with three visits is a great price. This unit is efficient and it's run fine. I think they are "A's" all over.

They installed my air conditioner and converted my home to a heat pump. They replaced the compressor and main air conditioning box. They're top notch. I could have probably gotten a little better deal, but their service is great. They're always here when they say they're gonna be. I've never had any of their guys that weren't up to date with everything that was going on and able to do everything they needed to do. The main guy, Lloyd, is real friendly and easy to work with. They use laymen's terms when they explain things to you.

For the air filters for the return vent, they used to bring me the ones that were the correct size. However, something changed and they brought the ones that were too small. They were suck up in to the return vent because they were too small. Just recently, they came out and they had record of this that I needed the bigger, regular, standard size but when they came the last time, he still brought the ones that were too small. They said that they could bring some back but I wasn't at home. Instead of them offering to come back when I was at home so they could install them, they said they could just leave them on the door so that I could put them in. I gave them a B because I feel that if I pay for a maintenance contract, then you should do everything as per that maintenance contract and that is installing the filters. I got three visits for one price. I may have one more visit and after that, I will consider probably using somebody else. For three visits, the cost was $125. Outside of the filters, the last gentleman they sent did a good job. Considering that I didn't have much to compare the price to, it wasn't an unreasonable price. If I paid $45 for somebody to come out to my house one time and they are going to come three times for $125, that is not too bad. The last time they scheduled to come out at one time and I was on my way home to meet them but then I got a call that he was going to be late because he was on another job. For punctuality, considering the last time that they were late, that wasn't good. However, prior to that, they have been pretty much on time. He was pretty professional.

It was a pleasure dealing with Michele. She sent paperwork and scheduled appointments. Despite the terrible weather the service technicians were on time and very professional. They cleaned up all the mess and carted sway the old unit.

The work was great. They were very professional and neat. They covered my floors with paper and taped it down to make sure they didn't leave a mess, and they cleaned up afterwards.

The technician, Fred, was extremely knowledgeable and identified the problem (bad capacitor) in a few minutes. He also checked the pressures on the refrigerant loop and electrical performance of the compressor and other components. He completed similar tests on a second unit at the house and also installed a new thermostat. He completed all of the tasks quickly with a high degree of professionalism, and was happy to answer all of my questions about what he was doing and what was he seeing with his test equipment. Fred also provided some excellent advice on maintenance and system operation. I will definitely use Rocky Top in the future.

It took them 3 days. Before there was only 1 unit and it only serviced the whole upstairs, so we had them put in new ductwork with zone control, so we have 3 zones upstairs now. So you can have the bedroom real cold, and the rest of the house a lot warmer, so you save money that way. So they had to do a whole lot of ductwork.

Essentially, all of the work described above was done to correct the poor and incorrect installation done by Rocky Top Air technicians when the heat and air system was installed a few years ago. When my wifed complained about being charged for the re-engineering of the condensation drains and the resultant problems, the service manager essentially told her this would not have been a problem if we had had regularly scheduled maintenance of the system. This response was specious at best. In fact, Rocky Top Air technicians have worked on the system since the installation, but none have addressed or corrected the original improvisational engineering that created the problem. To re-state, the condensation system was improperly installed with the system was installed. Rocky Top Air charged us for fixing the problem created by the original incorrect installation. We will certainly not use this firm when it comes time to replace our HVAC system. However, the technician who did the work described above was highly skilled, personable, and overall provided great service. We appreciate his work to correct the problems.

They’re very pleasant people. They did notify my husband of something that needed to be fixed. It was a suggestion that would make the furnace operate a little bit more efficiently, which we did. They call ahead, make the appointment, and they come when they say they're going to.

They were timely and thorough. They cleaned up well.

Arrived within an hour of agreed time. Very professional attitude. Found several problems that needed repair one of which was an refrigerant leak. I asked for an estimate of repair cost and he said it would be a day to look up the parts and such. Called the next day to check up on estimate and they said they would get back to me. That was over a week ago and I still have not heard from them. By the time I got someone else out to the house my low refrigerant level had become no refrigerant level. This greatly increased the repair cost.

I am now on a 3 months complete system with them and they provide excellent service. I've got the blower unit that I have not replaced that is starting to make noise when it gets below 30, but a heat pump may do that, I don't know.

Service always top notch and curtious. They call me when it's time for them to perform service as the seasons change.

We didn’t have any complaints. They were fine. We would use them again. They were professional. We didn't have any problems communicating with them.

They did a good job. I thought the price was pretty reasonable.
