At first things seemed ok. Cleaned up well after each day. However, we started to see issues when we ran into problem with the hardwood floors being redone. When the flooring folks began sanding to redo, they used too hard of a sandpaper and dug too deep in! Ray told me that the flooring was not "real" wood flooring, that it was for walls. Well that was not true as we bought the wood from canada ourselves and know better. So we got stuck with buying new flooring and it does not end there. The flooring folks dumped and left a large wet puddle of stain right in the front entrance. SO, that meant they had to sand again after we brought this up. Then they did not properly sand around the edges of the room and when stained, they edges were different colors. SO had to sand again. Now we will never be able to sand as they are down to the last time and the polyurethane is coming up now. SO will have to replace wood flooring at some point. Sooner than we would have to if it was installed and treated correctly. Soon after they "finished" we notice there was a crack in the stone flooring in the kitchen that ran across the whole room. Well they removed a load bearing post, and there cracks in the flooring/tile/drywall. We can not get the tile fixed as the tile is under the cabinets and we would have to pull those out. The drywall that they patched/redid is peeling/cracking in MANY areas. Will have to hire a drywall company to fix. The grout in the kitchen/dining area was cracking and coming out so badly that we had to have a company pull it all out and redo. The grout around the counters is also all cracked and out so I guess I will save $ and caulk myself. The workers reused our old baseboard and beadboard that was HEAVILY polyurethaned and they did not sand, so now all the paint is peeling. I have tried to sand myself and paint, but the wood needs to just be replaced to fix properly. The cabinet knobs in the kitchen were put on crooked. The doors are crooked, and it looked like they used some of them the saw other things. The drawers do not all work right (pull out easily and go back in easily with the not slam option we bought). I brought all of this up with Ray and once the last check is written, he said he will send someone to fix, but no one shows up to fix and now we are burdened with the extra cost on an already well funded project. Please please do homework and DO NOT just take first bid like we did. OH and to top it all off. November, at Thanksgiving we went to pull our my husbands Grandmother's silver flatware for the holiday and the case was empty! So there is another $5000 on top of first cost and then all the others. Not a company to do business with folks.
Description of Work: We had our Kitchen/Dining/Living (all mostly one room) redone/gutted. We also had them rough out dividing a bigger bath into two baths.

While most of the work is ok, we had lots of trouble with the wood floors and it ended up costing us extra due to lack of knowledge on the flooring folks side. Tile in kitchen is cracking, grout is falling out, there isn't enough lighting, the cabinet knobs were installed crooked, the paint is chipping and they will not commit to coming to fix so I will have to fix or pay someone to fix. AND we had $3500 of silver stolen during this process!Shop around for another contractor. This one is pricey and the work is just so, so.
Description of Work: We had our kitchen completely redone and had one bathroom reworked.
