Description of Work: Rainbow International performed mold cleanup and remediation in our crawlspace, where we had a small amount of mold with the potential of a bigger problem. They cleaned and encapsulated the crawlspace and installed a dehumidifier. The technician pointed out an insect problem that we were unaware of, so that was helpful. They were punctual and professional, and got the job done quickly. We had the work evaluated by a mold lab who said the results looked good and no remaining mold was found.

Description of Work: They may be a good company, very nice people, BUT, our house flooded from a pipe that burst and they would not pull up the carpet and put fans underneath to dry (makes no sense too me) since the padding/cushion must be dry to prevent mold. I understand insurance companies want to do as little as possible and Rainbow says they need to do what my insurance company says. Well, my house flooded before and everything was pulled up. I'm not trying to get something for free., but there were stains on the carpet from the water damage that weren't there before (I understand why) but, carpet cleaning wouldn't get the stains out. I really don't understand why a fan wasn't put on top and underneath to make sure it gets done right., b/c then it stunk, hummmm

[Members Name], Thanks for your comments. Rainbow International is an IICRC Certified Firm. In order to achieve IICRC-certified status, firms must meet a rigorous list of standards in business ethics and expertise. More than just removing excess water, IICRC-certified restorers have the knowledge and equipment to further dry a home or facility (including substructure materials) completely back to pre-loss conditions. IICRC standards recommend that companies do not "float" carpet and pad with air movers which is the old process that you are referring to. The reason that this is not recommended is two-fold. First, floating carpet can cause damage to the primary and secondary backing of the carpeting due to the constant flapping or jerking motion this method creates. Secondly, recent innovations in both water extraction and equipment allows materials and substrates to be dried in place fully. They said they charged $35 a room, but they charged me double of that for the living room and family room. Two of the rooms were so small that they could have been counted as one room. They didn t move the furniture, so they shampooed around our stuff and there wasn t a lot of carpet area to clean in most of the other rooms. I felt like they charged me way too much and they also missed some spots in one of the bedrooms. They did say they would be back out to handle that.
Description of Work: They cleaned 6 rooms of carpet in my home. The rooms included the living room, family room, 2 bedrooms, the computer rooms and the enclosed back porch.
