Precision Door Service

They showed up 1.5 hours after the appointment time. Beyond that, the service was fast and better cables were installed. I would recommend them to someone else. I would recommend they have better contact with clients to let them know the details for those of us that work and have to take off to meet them.

The bracket which opens our garage door broke in to two pieces. We had an Angie's List coupon that claimed: "Free service call with repair ($65 value)". (Beware, this coupon is still available on Angie's List.) I do not understand why my husband was charged a $75 service call -- how can it be ''free'' if you charge extra? Yes, $65 was taken off the bill, but that still does not make this a ''free'' service call. I saw a previous bad review of this same gimmick, but Precision indicated that this problem was fixed. It is not fixed. We also used a second coupon listed on Precision's website which allowed an additional $10 off for liking Precision on FaceBook. It came with a ''FREE garage door lubrication" -- we did not receive that service. The service person, Patrick Stockton, was extremely aggressive in his ''up-sell'' tactics. At one point, he even told my husband that the Angie's List coupon couldn't be used "because replacing the bracket isn't really a repair." What??? Since when is a physically broken bracket replacement is not a ''repair?" Mr. Stockton then began his up-sell, up-sell, up-sell pitch. He insisted to my husband that we needed new doors, new rollers, new spring, new you-name-it and, by-golly, we ''needed it'' right away. My husband, thankfully, did not give in to Mr. Stockton's pressure-filled, "oh-my-goodness, you'll be stuck in your garage!" tactics. Precision has an A rating with Angie's List. We, however, will never use them again. Precision, please quit the obnoxious high-pressure sales and rely on the good work your people are able to do.

We decided to go to a one spring system that would work with our door both now and in the future. The repair/replacement was fast and without incident. Patrick was professional, knowledgeable, courteous and friendly. He did some minor repair on the garage door itself and replaced the 2 spring system with a one spring system. He verified the door opened and closed easily and quietly without issues and confirmed that the motor sounded strong. FYI please remember that garages are hot. We set up a large fan for him and all the iced tea he could drink.

The person that answered the phone was professional and very helpful. They scheduled a technician to come out between 3pm and 5pm. Tommy (the technician) called me about 1pm to coordinate. He showed up right at 3pm on the button. Very professional. He was able to fix the problem very quickly. Had our garage door working perfectly again within about 30 minutes. I thought the price was very reasonable as well. Tommy, was extremely professional and did a great job. Precision is not the company who originally installed our garage door and Lift master opener. However, they will be getting all of our future business.

ldOne garage door was totally out of alignment and would not open and close properly. Both garage doors were quite noisy during opening and closing. Repaired doors operated smoothly, quietly and efficiently. Our Precision Door technician, Patrick Stockton, was friendly, courteous and very professional. He inspected the doors, diagnosed the problems and explained them as well as required repairs before he fixed them. We were quite happy with Precision Door's work and would use them again. We highly recommend them to people who need garage door repair services.

Our overhead door was in bad shape - had been creaking & squeaking but I'd been putting it off. Well, it finally failed in the down position with both our cars trapped inside on a weekend. I called this company on Sunday, expecting to wait until at least Mon. or Tues. Courteous phone rep offers to send someone right away - (today, Sunday) - with no extra charge for weekend service. Within a few hours an experienced overhead door technician shows up and makes needed repairs very efficiently, using replacement parts which appear of superior quality. The door now operates very smooth and quiet. I've lived in several houses and used many overhead door companies over the years. This outfit is in a whole different league - head & shoulders above the rest. Very efficient website with live people answering the phones, even after-hours, and emailed confirmations. Courteous uniformed employee calls to advise en-route, then shows up right on time in a marked vehicle fully stocked with all needed supplies and gets right to work. A slightly lower cost could possibly be found if you spent several days shopping around, but I thought their price was plenty fair considering the high quality work and excellent fast service - on a Sunday, no less. Very satisfied with PDS. Will use them again.

This company is very responsive. I can always count on my garage door working better after they fix it.

They sent the name and picture of the man that was suppose to show up for the service. A different person showed up. It took him less than 30 minutes to perform the roller replacement and hinge lubrication,which was an angieslist deal for $89. Then he began the hard sell to try to sell me new cables for the garage door for $500+, double the cost of any other estimates. The deal, while not that great of a deal, was apparently just a means to an end. I did not use them to repair my garage door.

It cost me three times what they said it was going to. We had worn out rollers and wanted new rollers but they come out and tell you that everything is worn out. It works fine but it cost a lot more than I thought it would. There is nothing wrong with the quality of their work -it is just the price. Make sure they don't talk you in to up grades. They were very good on responsiveness-they came out quickly.

It was an Angie's List special. I can't remember the price. $39 or $49. The work was done very well and as scheduled. He diagnosed the problem and made a fast repair. He then checked the door and mechanism again, did some lubrication and was finished. I am very pleased.

The tune up was wasted money for my door because my door didn't have half of the parts that should have been checked so I was disappointed in that "big deal". However the company did take the cost of the tuneup off of further repairs. The technician said that the spring needed to be replaced and they quoted a price. But when he came to do the repair, he said that I also needed bearings - I think a $75 addition. I believe the work was done well, but if I were to need another garage door repair, I would want 2 opinions and 2 quotes. So, I would hire them in the future but not without getting another company to look at the job.

Did a good job replacing the rollers. Charged me $10 extra for a broken bracket. Did a good job, fixed one broken roller and replaced the others. Spent a lot of time going over the springs and other parts. Wanted $500 to repair springs that the serviceman said was going out. It seems to be working fine, so declined the offer. Overall good job, but they want to add on additional work and you have only their expertise to rely on. If and when I have problems with the springs, I will address it then.

They were prompt. Responded to my needs.

I purchased a Deal from Angie's List for maintenance of garage door. The technician arrived on time; evaluated the door and made recommendations for repairs. He completed the repairs after giving me an estimate for repair vs a new door. He made sure I had no questions or concerns before he left.

The service went great. I paid an additional fee for a new door opener. I did not feel over charged. They are very responsive and easy to schedule with. They came out as scheduled. The staff is respectful and helpful. You can call and they are happy to help walk you through any issues you may have. I would recommend this company to others.

Our garage door stuck in the open position on the coldest day of the year. I called Precision Door Service around 8:30am on February 19 and they scheduled a same-day service call. I received an email confirmation with the name of the person who would be handling the call and photos of all their service techs, which was much appreciated. The tech arrived at noon, and after inspecting the door he recommended an overhaul of the moving parts of the door (springs, cables, rollers). This seemed reasonable to me since the door is 18 years old. The tech (Patrick Stockton) had all the necessary parts and the work was completed in little over an hour. The price was a little bit of an ouch, but the longer I stood in the freezing garage the cheaper it seemed. Our garage door is back in working order and operating more quietly than it did before. I value prompt service (especially in an emergency) and quality work, and I feel like I got both from this company. I would definitely use them again. Viola Schneider

It worked out fine. I had to negotiate with them to do the second garage door for the same price and he did it. He tried to upsell me with a much bigger package but I just went with the deal for two and a half and new rollers. They did fine. It was a good and professional relationship.

It was for my mother and it turned out just fine. The gentleman was very honest and straight forward. He was just very nice. This is the first time we use this company.

Louis was very Professional and showed me what was needed after the tune-up. The Spring had broken, had to be replaced, all new rollers, the ball bearings were completely worn away, so they were replaced too, also got us a garage door opener and finished the job in hour and half. He had all that was needed with him. Very pleased with his work, gave me some tips on maintaining the Garage door, which was very helpful. The first visit was expensive. Was told the reason the door did not want to work well was because it needed $509 worth of work. Work was done, next day problem was still there(door would not go down with garage door opener button pressed)((Needed new sensors)). To be fair they did come back quickly and fix the real problem at no cost. But I do feel like I am out $500 when a $50 part would have fixed the problem. Had a hard time answering would I use the service provider again, not sure at this point.

Provider showed up on time. Performed work in a professional manner. Appeared to be very throrough in their work. Checked spring, door rollers, opener, and other door hardware.
